What did your over-friendly brother do? :D I think that if I do the Vmod, I'll just solder a 10K VR instead of the pencil, as that hasn't really worked. Considering the HoHum syndrome, I doubt I can increase my performance enough to justify the death of an otherwise able (read: Game adequate) GFX.

If I get a sufficent job in the summer I might try to phase-change the HoHum with either a LS or M2 GT. Then I might reach 700mhz on the core, though that would in essence break the unwritten rules. Mr.Icee can through on a cascade any time :)

Either way, good luck, I will remain as an awed, amused and most likely jealous observer :D

Finally hit 10k

I think my quest for 12k is on hold as my x850xt pe has arrived and I'll be directing my attention there for a while... I've got my DFI bridge (thanks to Mike!) so I still have to mod my Ultra-d to SLI... in the meantime you are all welcome to catch up to me ;)

No BIOS vmod so it is a hardware mod. PCie is a pencil mod thanks to Shamino, AGP mod is a VR which can be found on the graphix modz page.

Sadly I cannot afford either at present so with the coldest night of the year in the UK it is out with the old 6800 and some pifast and superpi with the cpu only.

I thought my 5950 might revive but alas no.

I'll return to the 6600GT at a later date when things have matured and faster memory is about ( and they are cheaper) . Nobody ever became top dog with nvidia in less than a month.
