Well, that is a pretty good endorsement.
However, this new Shin Etsu, which is said to be an improvement over the older, already very good G751, is talking to me. I'm going with it.
Hell, AS5, Ceramique, Shin Etsu... they're all the cream of the crop. Probably not losing or gaining much from one to another, of the top dogs. Shin Etsu, historically, improves further after a few days. So, guess I'll be using it.
Did some researching. This is from an older review, but the Shin Etsu came out on top. Other reviews I've read, put the three, for the most part, neck and neck.
I finally found something. It looks like at stock these 1.6LVs only put out 30 watts.

Great thread! I purchase a pair of 1.6LV xeon 2 weeks ago and will buy a PC-DL when I will see a good deal.
One question BTW, I have one mcp600 doing nothing and a danger den heatercore (chevette heatercore 1X 120mm). Would this be enough for cooling 2 xeon?? (overclocked to the max of course!)

When I first saw this guide, I went to ebay and boght a pair for ~€75 shipped, bought a PC-DL, modded it and have done the B-SEL Pin mod and U-wire mod too!

BTW the xeon only isn't running because I don't have memory for my 2 PCs, so I prefer still with this one and wait till I can afford for new mems to fire up the xeon!
Have you tried doing the BSEL Pin mod that fools the mobo to think the xeons are 200FSB default!
For the litle (haven't got time yet to make a good test) test I've done the xeons gave higher FSB with the mod!
Maybe it will boost some power options on the mobo, but then I say maybe because I don't have enough tests made!

All you have to do is insulate AB3 pin!
It's all here, and all big results (in FSB) I saw even with 533 BUS xeons were all made with that trick to fool mobo that it's a FSB800!
Ya I read Jeff's guide too and then ordered a pair of Xeons from eBay right away and joined the team. Since then I've ordered another 3 pairs as well. Great guide! I'm still waiting for my two mobos though and other stuff :(

The way i insulate pins is fairly simple, I just cut out a little square piece from a baloon, stick it over the socket hole, and place the chip on, works like a charm.

Hey, you can take the sleeve of a tiny wire, a old mouse, keyboard or audio cable that you surely have lying around and put on the pin!
