mmhh, Those cases look nice. :) I just included a prescott celeron D and will soon include another prescott celeron D into my small folding firm bringing the numbers to 5 pcs. folding 24/7. I am just curious, how much of a electricity bill hike did you guys notice after fully being dedicated to folding?
Well lets see an idle high end pc probably draws 200-250w, and a full load one (no load on GPU) probably sucks 350-400 from the socket. So add three or so bulbs to your bill.
Hmm, I see. So I should be adding 9-10 bulbs to my bill for the following setups:Quote:

Mobile celery 2.4 - 1 bulb
9-10 bulbs.
I'm going to beg to differ on the claims of 350-400 watts from the socket with no GPU load, and say more like 200-250 MAX (250 with maybe say a prescott or similar nuclear meltdown). Think about it: TDP, at least with AMD, is the absolute max power the chip will draw no matter what, even if the sky is falling. so on even the most beastly current AMD chips, thats 115 watts absolute physical maximum - full load is far less. OC it a bit to a lot and it'll still probably be less than 150 watts. RAM will take 7-8 watts per stick at MOST (generous), drives take a few watts, and chipsets take a few watts too. factor in efficiency, and you're at around 200-250 watts for the most power-hungry CPUs out there.
Then again, if you're running a Core Duo, it's more like 50 watts at the wall full load.
also, who has 100+ watt light bulbs? O_O
Yeah, I wish I didnt do impulse buying and got some amd cpus instead of my Prescott celerons. Now I can understand why enterprises are moving to using opterons (Hehe rather experiancing it first hand) .
i am folding. but not for XS, sorry. im folding for a norwegian team since i am norwegian. besides, it seemes like the focus is on D2OL anyways...
I'd say my focus is at your avatar ;)
And seriously... that won't stop me from folding this team beeing overlooked so often.
I have 12 systems so far i am adding to theteam and growing at a strong pace
Great to have you onboard Servin
:wtf:
btw: put the link to your sig inside a pair of image tags to get it to display, like so [IMG]link_to_sig[/IMG]
You have nice opportunity to overtake... for example jimwah... LOL :toast:Quote:

Moved my folding over here Saturday, 3 machines all single processor. I don't run 24/7 because of the heat/storms at this time of the year. A64 3000+ @ 295x9,a P4 3.0 stock and a P4 1.7 stock. As soon as the insanity calms down the P4 1.7 will be replaced with a Oc'ed E6400 or E6600
Sounds great. Thanks for coming on board.Quote:

Peace out guys, gl folding, glad I can help :)

Alright, about to add a laptop with a Pentium 740M to the folding craze :) Glad to help.

welcome lordofdoom. Make sure you run 2 instances on that 165 (and on that 2.8ghz pentium 4 if it has HT).
Sorry, it's a 478 (correct # right?). No HT for it! And the 165 isn't up yet, but looking forward to 3.0ghz dual-core OC'ing.Quote:

I am using 2 instances of the console client on my conroe system. They are in two different directories with two different machine numbers.
The odd thing is, theyr'e both working on the same project. Is it supposed to do this?
Howdy LordOfDoom & Polygon
Sounds like you've got the setup right Polygon, so I'd guess they are working on proteins with the same project number - although these aren't identical & you'll get credit for both. I ran four instances on my dual xeon which was often runnning 2 or 3 Work Units with the same project number at a time.
Looking at your stats I can see 2 cpu's have appeared - so it all looks good.

My stats. Only says 2 proc's because my laptop is at the office and not folding ATM.
Awesome stuff!! :woot:
Thanks alot Jimwah.
Hi everyone, well this is my first post, after reading Xtreme forum for quite a long time now.Anyway, I just added myself in the xtreme team for folding.
After getting so many infomations in this forum , it's my turn to give something back here. I have been folding for quite a while now ;) .
my stats .
The non gaming rigg is folding almost 24/7 while the gaming rigg is folding when I'm not gaming with.
