Ive discovered if you lock the PCI-E @ 101 the ASUS 79-T DOSNT LIKE IT,,

Its made to Stay @ 100 when its set @ 100! If you set 101+ it will overclock the PCI/PCI-E and other stuff . I keep it @100 and am running 3.5ghz @219htt/FSB It will Also run HTT280@ PCI-E 100 :D

Symtom causes problems with sound/pci slots(locks sound card) and wont boot into Windows @HTT/FSB 224/225 234/35 in my Bios ..

So i leave pcie @100 with this thing, where on other MOBO's i would Lock it @ 101:D

P.S. Yes it can be the Timing too...and/or not enuff Volts for stablity. Some Chips take little where like mine, it Goes Big.

so I have an old IDE drive on now with XP on it and I can clock to 3.1ghz at 1.350 volts.

I tried to use a higher multiplier but it froze up passed that at any volt. :/

I'll have to see how high the HTT will let me go it that's the max multi.

My Cellshock doesn't seem to have any issues with timings.I see no better fsb if I set 5-4-4 to 5-5-5.
I will try the tRFC 127 .
Also my vcore is tottaly strange.I can get all supepi scores at 3,5G without the need to put above 1,45vcore.No matter if I try until 1,65, I get no higher fsb.:confused::confused:
It's strange because most people here get better results with increased vcore.
Also I tried different settings with NB and HT speed.No matter if i keep <2000 or until 2400, I see no difference for better fsb's..
It seems that other factors influence higher clocks..Not sure, what though..:(:(

Does anyone have a Corsair HX1000W with this board?

The reason I ask is that I just got mine and installed it last night and it will only boot with default bios settings. I have changed nothing but the PSU and if I try and change any settings (with regards to the CPU multi and/or voltage) it will not post. I have to clear the cmos every time. If I boot into windows with default settings I can change the multi and/or voltages, but if I have to restart for any reason I have to reset the bios again. Not to mention the fact that my Catalyst Control Center will not work now either.

Anyway I was just wondering if there was some compatibility issue.

I highly doubt that your PSU is effecting specific software. It might be effecting stability under load, sure, but not select programs. Do you have another PSU you can test against?

I am testing Phenom 9850BE on this board with Corsair HX1000 right now, and I have no issues with this PSU. Overdrive works fine, I can boot and bench 3D stable at 16x200.

Ben, I know you are way more experienced with mobo's and psu's than I so don't take my advice wrong. :rolleyes: Could you be mistakenly using the wrong 4-pin connector in the cpu plug? Rather than using the 4-pin, I suggest you use the 8-pin cpu connector after removing the 2-pin plug-stop that is in the board's cpu power socket. (Corsair provides both a 4-pin and 8-pin cpu connector.)

Since the HX is the higher quality Corsair psu model series, I am sure it has been QA'd to the nth degree by Seasonic, the OEM for Corsair.

What I have finally discovered is that when ACC is enabled either Auto or set manually the pc will not boot. I have to have it disabled and that causes stability issues with anything over 3GHz. Still my CCC for my 3870s will not work, still not sure what happened there. I do still have my 750w TT Toughpower I am about to test again. As far as the CPU conector, it uses the 8-pin and the PSU even comes with a second CPU connector for dual CPU motherboards that I tried as well just to make sure that nothing was wrong with the cable.

I have no idea wth is wrong, but I guess if my other PSU boots everything up as it did before I will chalk it up to a bad PSU or something.

Well here I am booted back up to my old settings of 3.2GHz and ACC set to Auto on my old PSU. So I guess something is wrong with the Corsair one. That is my only guess.

Hmm.. Its i like the Thermaltake 650/750 PSU's...Not the best priced but they do perform under load.

My 650watt Modular has pushed some maxed Volts with 9950 and 3870x2..overclocked to max on numerous Mobos with two pumps and 11xpanaflo's120x38 12v...Talk about PSU load just add 3.5Ghz plus 300watt card (specs in Sig)..Im pushing it alright.

I like those P$C cooling 750's ,,good bang for the buck too... waiting for Prices to drop a little before i venture to High Watts over 850+. There are plenty good 750's ....I know you have 3vids so its kinda ruff to go lower than 800watt...

I still can't understand why this mobo doesn't help the OC with higher voltages.
Cpu can't get 1 single fsb, even if I try with VCORE from 1,45-1,65.
Ram can't pass superpi, even if I try VDIMM from 1,90 till 2,1.Or with lighter timings..
OC doesn't get better even if I increase the NB VOLTAGE.

All previous are main factors that all other AMD chipsets (NF2,NF4) had and helped a lot with OC.You weren't stable at games?You increased the Vcore and NB voltage and you were fine.
Couldn't pass SuperPi?Increased the Vdimm and then ok.

Of course I have it.
But it isn't a matter of "RIGHT" or "WRONG" bios.
It's a matter of a bios that can handle an overclocked system and keep it stable.
With NF we had to try 4-5 different modded bios to see what goes better with your system.
And it's supposed that ACC helps OC.How is this helping, if I MUST use +4% only or else I can't even boot.This is not so much of help, if only a particular option works and you can't try different things.

You can't tell that a mobo kicks ass, when no matter if you use 1,45 or 1,65, you see no differences..

I am about to purchase my next board, so I can put my MA790GX into my main MCE system. I am trying to decide between this on and the DFI 790FXB-M2RSH. Is this board better choice besides power on the board...does it have Full AOD support?

AFAIR all voltages and timings are adjustable.
