My "murder" project.

lyl he does have a problem bleeding that loop fully, with his scenario of tipping the case on the front, air will get trapped in his fuzion block...

anyway this is still not quite finished, so he can still invert the cpu block to the proper orientation...

nice grill Charles. a work to be envied...

that grill looks amazing..i love how it blends in with the case...outstanding work there^^
i do have to say that it looks painfully restrictive to airflow though

Looks top-spec. This is what characterises top notch casemodding.

i totally gotta steal some ideas here :D

hmmm... It only takes about 10 mins to fill and fully bleed all the air. How much faster would it be to invert the block do you think? I always thought the in and out designations on the block were more for flow design than trapped air.

It's actually pretty good. There's a considerable amount of airflow. Obviously without a fan, this wouldn't be adequate for an air cooled config.



Project Update: I figured I'd mount the EK blocks to the cards in hopes that that would help summon an IO shield of build finishing. This is my 1st experience with EK products so I followed the instructions carefully. After joining the card to the block, I noticed there was a gap as a result of the power regulator block not being flush with the water block. I tried reseating it a few times with no luck. I then switched to an other ALU power reg block and it had the same problem. It appears the Nickel block is the culprit. The other Nickel block is fine. Shame the problem isn't the ALU block as I have two of those from the original copper blocks. :doh:

There's the problem - the ALU block is on an angle - yikes!


Bottomline: the IO Shield is no longer holding up the build...

Too bad, I think Ek blocks quality control is not good as in the beginning, not the first time someone as a problem with them.

Noooooo.....

The solution for this problem is to take the block to a local machine shop to determine exactly where is the problem and correct in on a CNC.

how's that a solution? Then he has to pay someone else to fix something that should have been right in the first place? I would take it back.

Maybe a shim would be a better solution considering the angle.

no, thank you charles your work is inspirational and when it comes time for me to get either a 4870 or 4870x2 and add that into my loop I am sure to take a few things from your builds and try to imitate them.....

One thing is for sure - I am definately adding the top panel that you made please let me know as soon as they are available!!!

no kidding, these TJ07 mods are growing on me. I thought that the v2000 was like the be all end all cae, but Mr Charles has shown me the light. . . .

at least the tj07 hasn't been discontinued or turned into crap like the v2010. i'd love to get a v2000 but dont have money and by the time i do it will be impossible to find. half the reason i like the v2000 is bc of the inverted board and bc of that i dont care for the new ones with the regular mounting board.

Its looks perfect! Great work on everything!

I would hope and be glad if you could take some picture of it with a standard position? Without those macroshots or the fancy angles?

All being well, I should have the replacement gpu block by Wednesday and hopefully, the IO Shield as well.

I've been looking at Fried Chicken's build these past days thinking what else can be done. I've come up with an idea I'm pretty stoked about. It'll totally fit with the design and tie everything together, composition wise. I'm afraid I'm not going to tip my cards just yet - instead I'm going to be a big jerk and make you guys wait till the end of the week when if all goes as planned, pics will be done.

and yes there will be full body shots - not just arty farty ones. :yepp:

I hate to keep my idea under wraps guys, especially since you're all so awesome and amazingly supportive.

My hope is that the wait will be worth it. :)

Here's what the D-tek manual says

But like i said, if you have bled the system correctly, I dont see why there would be a problem. Im going to go out on a limb and say Charles has enough WC experience to fully bleed a loop :yepp: And I dont see the orientation effecting the flow very much at all either.

Your orientation gives the cleanest look, and i think you should go with that ;) It's a murderbox, amirite

Cheers lyl, good to know. In this case, I might flip the block around. I think the hoses will look neater with the pump going to the "out" barb. This would put the block at a 90 degree angle in relation to the D-Tek logo. If orientation is just about bleeding issues then no worries, It's good exercise wrastling a fully loaded TJ07 around. :)

One call to EVGA, and they are shipping one out to me at no charge. I've had several dealings with their RMA and support staff and have had great experiences with them every time.

I highly recommend their products for the warantee/support alone.
