Has anyone had any experience with the L727A898 stepping e6850? I just picked one up and I can't seem to find any information on it at all...
Abit IP 35 Pro with 4GB Crucial Ballistix Tracer PC-1000 RAM. I haven't actually started to overclock the chip yet, but I haven't seen a single post from anyone with a similar stepping.
I am at 3.6 at stock voltages easy OC just trying to break it in here. I will try 3.8 today, then I hope 4.0 etc..
You have the same stepping then?
Highest 1hr Orthos stable FSB with no mods Giga DQ6. & ES E6850 for my setup.

My E6850 arrived today
FPO batch L723B222 Pack Date 08/08/07
Vid reported by Coretemp 1.3125
Orthossing now at stock speeds will edit this post later on with some OC's... nice thing is I can run 3ghz already with way lower chipset voltages than with my E6600
Striker Extreme :
E6600 -- E6850
Vcore 1.35 -- 1.32
1.2HTT 1.35 -- 1.2
NB voltage 1.35 -- 1.2
SB Voltage 1.55-- 1.5
CPU VTT 1.4 -- 1.25
Catch ya laterzz
Edit :
Orthosses 8 hours (blend test) at 3.6 at stock voltage, no errors, went fine, bought a new Seagate 500GB S-ATA2 hooked it up started transferring large files and after 2 mins the pc rebooted lol  several times lol voltages for the Striker were :
Vcore 1.35
1.2HT : 1.3
NB Voltage 1.4
SB Voltage : 1.5
CPU VTT : 1.4
Could I be experiencing the weird HD/680I issue here ? Will adapt my voltages on the chipsets to dig further into the matter...
At 3.6 the max laod was 50-52°C same as my E6600 but idle temps are 6-8°C lower...
Yeah, want to see what the B model will do, hear they are a tad better?
I JUST GOT MINE IN - at 1.325vcore in bios (BFG 680i rev. A2 w/P30 BIOS) I am at 3.825 at first boot just fine - temps at 100% LOAD ARE FREAKIN LOW! <-45ish
I will have water cooling tomorrow!
1M pi on 4.2G
congrats :)

70c load temps. ouch!..
debating on water cooling or Phase Change cooling setup. I can only fit a single rad on my case without having to cut all over it but that then a single rad will not do the trick. The waterkeg is $400.00, in my budget is a bit much for the possible gains in clocks speeds, 72c is not bad as the tjunction is 100c. this orthos run was on small ftts and that generates the most heat. In my real world usage no application will replicate those temps.

Mines a L719B018 with a VID of 1.35v. Here's a few screenies..
Just can't hit the 4gig mark, think the motherboard might be holding me back!
I've got mine semi stable at 4202MHz - click my HWBOT sig for a lot of tests - now I am working on finding the sweet spot w/ volts and speed
