Yes it can, but CS3 does it much better.

Thanks! That was a really acute angle. I had to lie flat on the beach to see the LCD :D Pardon my noobishness but is there any feature on the DSLRs that allows the camera to automatically change the exposure setting from -2 to 0 to +2? I might be getting one soon and it'd be great if there were. Everytime i change the exposure on the fuji compact, the camera moves a bit. I dont have a tripod yet and it's really a hassle balancing the camera and changing exposures.

On the Canon series from the 350D on (not to sure about where it starts with the Nikons, sorry) there's an Auto Bracketing option (AEB), where it will do 3 exposures at 0 and up to +/- 2.

If you're shooting HDR pictures a tripod is really a must! Only costs a few bucks and you have lots of profit from it! ;)

My camera can only do exposures up to +/- 1 unfortunatly.. :(

Sanad look for "Exposure Bracketing". The only Nikons that can't do this are D40 and D60.

Look back on the last couple pages...those pics I posted were handheld. I have some more that were taken indoors that I have yet to merge but just wait...you may be surprised at what steady hands can get away with...

It's not a realistic picture and it contains to much noise I think, but I thought I'd post it anyway. ;)

Guys if you are having problems with noise in Photomatix, give Paintshop Pro Photo X2 a try. It gives very good HDR results, and it's a pretty good replacement if you don't have the full blown Photoshop. It's alignment is a little better than PM, but still no where near as good as CS3 but that's not a very fair comparison. It produces a lot less noise than PM plus you are in a full image editing program ready to make further adjustments.

Is Paintshop Pro Photo X2 free? Because if it isn't, I'm stuck with GIMP or Paint.NET... any experience using GIMP or Paint.NET for HDR?

What are your guys' opinion's on Adobe Lightroom? My dad has it, and he really likes it, and he's very fluent in it... but I want to know how it compares to CS3?

Thanks. :)

These tools do not do the same things. Well they do, but they are for two different applications. Lightroom is a Photographer's tool whereas Photoshop is a Graphic Design tool that can manipulate photographs but to a lesser degree than Lightroom.

If that is true, looks like Lightroom is a better choice than CS3 (for me at least). Wait, are Lightroom's HDR capabilities up to snuff (like CS3 level)?
