Good thread guys!
Im thinking about getting a Gigabyte P35 DS4 (for the crazy cool & 8-pin psu connection which my enermax liberty 500w supports); & an e2160 cause they are cheap.
ATM all I have is crucial 6400 ballistix.
Will this mod work on an e2160? Should I even need it? I heard the e4x00 was hitting a few walls, but will an e2160?
lets say u haD A PROTOTYPE BOARD and had ddr12,000 with a conroe say 6400.crank away 600-700fsb u will eventually hit a cpu top ghz speed limit say 5.6ghz etc.ppl are calling these fsb walls, and others call them cpu max limits. .topped out to max ghz on silicone possible limits is the fsb wall or cpu max speed under any cooling\surrounding hardware.
i read this thread and fully enjoyed it.and im not hijacking any thread just think that certain model cpus have a ceiling limit -200temps , 2.1 volts to cpu,ddr 12,000 etc, killer mobo from h3ll.cpus have limits or virtual breaking points.and from the sound and some users in here, they hit them imo.saying no fsb walls is like saying 10gig is possible on a 6400....no it hit a cpu cieling max wall.
theres some amazing guys\rigs on this site btw, most amazing info i ever read.pleasure to be here.:)
kunnak your info is very usefull btw.
I just had an idea for boards that fail bsel manipulation. If you modify the bios and remove the microcode updates, the processor will be unknown if it'll still let it boot. In the event that it does boot then, it should follow whatever bsel is set to. This is a total shot in the dark, but was just an idea I came across while working on my bios. Note that I don't have a board which has bsel issues, so I can't test this theory. But maybe someone will take interest and try it out.
Not sure if anyone cares, but the latest DFI NF680i LT motherboard allows you to override BSEL from BIOS and boot at one of the predefined BSEL FSB speeds without modifying your CPU or touching the overclocking controls. I doubt this is of interest since I presume the whole point of this mod is to overclock CPU's on boards with no overclocking options. Anyway, just an FYI.
This explaination fits the experiences I am having
I can run 375 x 8 but I cannot boot at 375 x 7! If u do the math the NBCC is running higher, thats the only difference. With the e2160 default multi is x 9.
Now I need a pin mod for the default multiplier. They stopped that being moddable though.

Without having to read all 260 posts, can someone confirm that the pin mod works and is safe to use?
Many a small synopsis.
Yes it works i have read this whole post over the last few weeks..
many people providing good info but you should take the time to read up.
Also
Its your Risk doing it..and its all ok providing you can boot this with stock vcore because if u cant and have to reset bios after Oc failure what then...?
works for my E4300 @ 266 FSB on :
1. DFI Infinity 975x
2. Foxconn 965
3. DFI Infinity DARK P965S
4. Biostar TF 965PT
5. Biostar TF P965
wont work with :
Gigabyte 965P DS3
Abit FP IN9 650i SLI

I'm looking for the pin mod for the 200fsb chips... I know they where mentioned somewhere before... But I cant seem to find it anymore?
Help please :)
EDIT: Found it at last... 200 -> 333 = HERE
OK, this is what I figure from 'ineedaname's earlier post, I have assumed the the pin outs have been reversed in his screen shot, can someone please confirm that the 1333fsb portion of the image below is correct... thanks.

i have not try 200 to 333 mod..
but i'm gonna try it anyway..on my E4300 FSB wall (if it does exist) is around 400FSB..hopefully with 333 strap mod there's a headroom to push some more
just did mod on e2160 from 200 to 266 seems to be working great.
You can probably remove the conductive material (if you use conductive ink) with some rubbing achohal if it doesn't go over well I imagine.
With the rig in sign, could be useful for me to do 333 fsb mod?
thanks everybody
If you need more voltage, then you consider also doing a pin mod to the cpu to increase the voltage per this guide:

Hi Everybody,
I'm new and I've seen all the posts in this thread but I can't find an answer of my question. It is possible to make this BSEL mod on my Conroe E6400 with Asus P5K Deluxe Wi-Fi/AP and which pins I have to connect.
If You can, please send me some pictures.
Thank You!
edit:
If I make this mod, can I gain ferquency over 3.20 GHz, because now this is the max. of my CPU.
Have anyone tried this on a E2140 yet? and does it help you to break the cpu "wall"?
ok thx for info alphaone..
but it doesn't work on 800 -> 1066 i,ve tried before
hope it work btw
