did u try mixing raid-0 with one kind, and couple drives as singles from another manifacturer......i had probs (bsods) on my p5b-dlx with 2x300gb maxtors in raid-0 and a wd 3200ks .... powermax would also report errors on the maxtors if the WD was on the same controler and sometimes would not even start, putting the WD on the jmicro solved that but i still dont know if its hdds fault or ich8r....just concerned now if i go to Quad-GT its only ICH8R for internal drives

didn't go further up with vcore in the first run.

btw, vddr measured the same as selected in bios. no droop at all. (well, checked this just for the low end up to 2.1v)!
all other voltages i checked are overvolting (ich1.05, ichio1.5, mch1.25, cpuvtt)

You seem to be the only person with this issue. I have two QuadGT boards and both recognize the RAID arrays within five to seven seconds with any of the BIOS releases.

have you changed SATA cables to see if that might be causing the delay?

have you taken the intel raid down to only 2 drives?...i notice you have 4 of the 320G seagate drives...i have the same kind but my board is on the bench with only one seagate hooked up..when i move the board to the case, i will try all four...that might be 7-10 days away before i get there...

Someone on the first page of the abit forum thead has the same issue.

Looks like its clearly broken eh? What do I have to do around here to get a board that just works?

sometimes you get the stinker!:D ...i bought a pair of Corsair Dominators DDR1142 kind...expensive!..ouch!;) ..you would think they would work to their specs being brand new..NOPE!!:) one stick craps out around DDR1020...the other stick works right up to DDR1142...it almost appears to be the luck of the draw!

Their issue was with RAID and IDE not playing nice together that is now fixed for the most part with the latest beta. I have not heard of anyone at the abit forums having the delayed drive recognition issue but I could have missed the post. Return the board and try something else.

I RMA'ed the board, hopefully the replacement will work properly :)

I certainly hope so, it really is a nice board overall. They should have a BIOS update right after the Chinese New Year holiday is over to address the remaining RAID issue and then they will work on performance tuning, especially 1T operation.

has anyone been unsuccessful in getting higher FSB when they lowered the multi...i've tried all the way down to 6x and i can not go beyond 420 with this Q6600...i would think that i should be able to get more FSB if i lower the multi.

bingo, what are your thoughts?

hard to go over 525, bingo have some screen shots at 535 , i couldnt pass 525 , well he got around 20 of this boards :)

well...i am limited because of having a Q6600 but i would think as i lower the multi, thus the overall clock of the CPU, i would think i could go higher on the FSB as long as i didn't exceed the memory speed specs.

have you tried maxing all your voltages? (besides vcore and dimm)

past that all i can think of is for you to find some sort of GTL mod... for quad the best mobo is still ASUS P5B or commando, looks like the dfi will change that but not till late march.

Is that Orthos stable? :fact: 1M, 8M etc? with what cooling?
EDIT: I need vMCH-mod + vDroop, anyone know how to do those? Is there mod-thread already?

Impossible to make 500 FSB stable for me even with Vmch at 1.7 (freezing) or 1.65 (not booting to desktop) and errors in memtest. Vtt : 1.5 also
It is not my ram because my cellshock are ok @ 530 4-4-4-4 2.2v on my p5b dlx.

But 463 FSB needs only 1.4 Vmch (did not try less) when my p5b dlx needed 1.55v.

Which bios and settings are you using to be able to make FSB 500+ stable in orthos?

Heh, I only have three boards now. :p: I cannot get a E6300/E6400 over 525 at all and 515~520 depending on CPU/Memory settings is stable. However, any of the 4MB cores will go over 525 but memory performance takes a dive so they are backing off the MCH/Memory sub-timings quickly from what I can tell at this time. I found being around 500 with a E6300 is a little faster in actual applications than being at 515 right now.
