400*5/4=500MHz (DDR2 1000). Maths.
If you want FSB400 and DDR2 900 use nForce 6xx. You can't do this with P965

sorry OT
AFAIK 965P chipsets can run ram with higher frequency than fsb but not lower -> FSB ist the lowest clock for your ram but you can select 667 or similar option (5/4) to clock your ram higher.

Not bad for Air IMO.
I might just have a buddy get me a hella deal on the X6800 and see what that can land me. :woot:
wow :woot: all you lucky guys have some really good overclocking chips :toast:
I am soo tempted to trade in my chip for a revB or F :(
menlatin's cpu is an E6400 not E6300:)
right right.
but it looks like i need to go for 4001mhz now...maybe dual pumps and dual rads?
ouch :stick: :eek:Quote:

Just got my new e6600 from Newegg and here's the stepping:

What the hell is that code? I thought I should be seeing an A or a B. What is that F?
It's a horrible clocker btw. Orthos stabe at 8x400 (3.2ghz) @ 1.5v in bios. I can sneak a superpi run in at 3.6ghz but it takes 1.7v in bios to do it!!!!
Anyone else with this same code? I'm extremely disappointed with the chip. I know for a fact that my board (p5b-d) and ram (gskill hz) isn't holding me back.
omg wtf! 1.5V for just 3.2Ghz maybe you arent doing it right :stick: ?        crazy check the box where is it made?Quote:

My ram is solid well into 450+ with tight timings and not too much voltage. It's definitely the chip holding me back since I can boot into windows at 3.6ghz but taking 1.7v to get me there. I can't even post at 3.6ghz with 1.6v (in bios).
Nah. Youre so close, just bench outside in the cold or something :DQuote:

My only question is why priority 9 isnt a requirement. I think most of us run orthos at priority 9 so it shouldnt be an issue.
Ditch this > see updated results: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...&postcount=276
No picture with Orthos running, so no valid entry. :p:
He posted some links. Check them.:)
edit: They have Orthos, but in idle. I think it's not good.
This is my miserable attempt so far! the dam thing won't go above 3575mhz i have a striker extreme so i thing it is down to poor voltage regulation. Lots of people get 3600+,, is this just bad luck or what?
wow, who changed the rule :)
I was cheating from my earlier post which I took the screenshot after I stopped the test due to priority 9 issue (can't navigate while it is running on priortiy 9)> http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...1&postcount=11
BUT, if you want a running orthos shot at 4050mhz I also have it around 8 hrs 21 minutes if i recall correctly and if i saved it - you just need to wait until I hit home - cheers!!!
If I am on my computer I am doing something, if I am running orthos I am going to log in through RDPCLIP and be at work. It makes very little difference on stability, and for me the computer won't even login with RDP.Quote:

how do i either run prime95 in 2 windows or run orthos. got error trying to run orthos as it's not typical setup.exe sort of program and whenever i try to get a second prime95 window running it just brings up the 1 i have open already. i'm now running 3.71ghz, 464x8 and want my spot in the list:)
That happens verywhere CPU cant be truested :p: hey doesnt gigabyte have any monitoring software? For us Asus motherboard users we use AI suite or PC probe.Quote:
