91.47 driver and 39.09 bios convinced me to be a great mix at this moment.
Hey guys
i made my own bios for my GTO's and im runing 700/1700 stock every thing. any tips on how to get the core faster? .. i tried to pencil mod my mem it worked grate at 1900mhz but the jump from 3D to 2D clock confused the card. lots of blanking on the desktop after running fine in game.
holy crap!!! 1900MHz?!!! that's really good! exactly what changes have u made to ur bios?
Sorry to bring this up again....was wondering what was the best way to oc the gto....I read thru the thread a little.
Oced MSI 7900GTO to 720\825 art/free with stock volts, stock cooling at 50%.
Vmem reads : 1.832V
BIOS from MSI 7900GTX.
Going to vmod GPU to 1.625V and mem to 1.925V
The Resurrection :D
I have eVGA GTO . 91.47 drivers, ...39.13 Bios (original).
Benchmark results from the net with GTX convinced me that any Vmod is not worth the effort/risk : the memory speed/bandwidth , which is the only diff , comes to play at hi-res . at 2048 the GTX outperforms stock GTO by 16% AT MOST.
I replaced the mem thermal pads with copper spacers and AS3. AS5 on GPU.
Basically same OC , only 685/730 Together .
Temps 44-45 Idle (ambient 21.5C ) reaching 71 under 3Dmark06 LOOPS. a bit too high..
(They were 38/58 in winter, and I made some changes in case cooling so, I working on the issue)
3Dmark06 v1.1 (my C2D 2240 / 800 4-4-4-12) , NV 91.47 :
BASE STOCK
3DMark : 5800
SM2.0 : 2489
HDR/SM3 : 2338
CPU : 1898
Max Stable OC
3DMark : 6130
SM2.0 : 2645
HDR/SM3 : 2510
CPU : 1922
+330 pts to score . ~5%
I decided to OC all the time as the samsung BJ11 mem is UNDERVOLTED , and better cooled i.e no wear and tear . and GPU is OCed on demand.
I'm considering loosening mem timings with niBitor . But flashing experimental BIOS is always risky and not as easily recoverable as with Motherboard BIOS.
A friend with 8800GTX 768Mb. scores 12000-13000 ( OC dependant). X2 ! .
So, its best to wait for actual DX10 results.
At the moment the card is great at any game with res ranges I usually use on my 19" CRT.
