Ok maybe i was too harsh i took this mobo to 4.516 (Pi... a modest 11.312) last night and still have some wiggle room. My Chilly needs a service so my temps are holding me back a tad.

One more thing that seems off. When running my modded 7900gt cards on my Pw5 Deluxe (using modded sli drivers) I was hitting in the 21,000 range @ 4.15 ghz (e6700). On the P5W64 when I tried running I was hitting 16000 @ 4.3ghz (x6800). Im assuming it has to be something to do with slot position and a bios switch but I havent discovered which option it is yet.

I tried the 1st blue slot and the last black slot for my positioning. I also tried the two black slots but locked up mid way through (probably heat related...).

Has anybody else tried running sli yet with this board?

Must say I am having problems overclocking with this board also....While I can reach the same CPU speeds with this board as I did with my P5B-D, I cannot reach the higher FSBes with this board :(

P5B-D I was running my E6600 at 7 x 466, with this board I am having to run at 8 x 400 :( Just doesn't post much above 400 FSB....and I replaced the thermal compound on all 3 heatsinks with AS5, something I didn't do with the P5B-D.

You must give CPU more Vcore to post with higher fsb (I think that on P5W64 Pro CPU booting with def multi and chanche during POST)
I ca boot with 6 and 7 multi up to 465MHz

I play some with SS :D

What bios are you using try 0215. You can boot in at FSB 450 and Clockgen up. The best I can boot with is 450 fsb.

Guys what configuration provides two slots with a full 8x width so I can run Sli with modded drivers. I tried the Blue and Black and ended up with blue slot at 16x and black slot at 4x. Does the bios have a setting to mark which slots should run at 8x?

So you can only post at 450 without using clockgen?

Thats my problem then, I could post upto 500FSB with the P5B without any problems and I couldn't go further only due to CPU and northbridge limitations, with this board I went strait for what I settled on previously (7 x 466).....guess this board really isn't as overclockable and I am going to have to make compromises somewhere :(

im using the two black and sli works fine .if you look in the manual you will see its
1 gfx 16 8 4 8 and two gfx 8 8 4 8 .

i think the 64 Pro has similar problems as my regular Pro with certain multi cpu's...i have an E6700 that wouldn't go over 400 FSB regardless if i lowered the multi to 6x...definitely a northbridge chipset problem....probally an inferior or defective chipset...could be the reason why they came out with a revised northbridge chipset.

i moved the E6700 over to my P5B Dlx and it goes up to 460 FSB...definitely the Pro board has a limitation; at least mine does!

Do some testing, you don't necessarily need to run a high FSB to have a fast system. You might want to try to overclock the CPU & ram using the default 9 multiplier instead of worrying about a high FSB.;)

Well....
P5B DLx can boot even higher than 500 fsb but then the strap suck :D

Try the vMch pencil mod out and see if you can go higher that way.

FYI: I am neck to neck with another guy running a P5B Deluxe (unmodded) when clocked at the same FSB's.. and multi both of using x6800 and phase cooling 4.5 ghz range so still have my doubts about its the P5W64s advantages.

Dont get me wrong Im not unhappy with this board I just need to find out all its peculiarities because it does seem to have a lot of petential which I havent been able to unleash yet...at least I hope it does ;)

no biose parameters changes .and no decrease in performance iether .i havnt had time to fully test,but will on wdensday .so far i have benched 3dmark 2001 at 445x9 and sli ,with a score of 63###.not tweaked or oc on my 2 gtx cards.and the it run without probs .looking forward to benching a bit more soon.im using biose 209 by the way.;)

Im using 215 does bios 209 improve the FSB problem?

Just tried my new e6600 with 215 bios, where I could get 420 fsb with the 6300 I can't get past 380 with the e6600. Note that my lil brother stole one stick of ram so I'm single channel but I don't think that is the cause.

Also enabled the Peg settings... and put the cards in the Black Slots and performance is exceeding expectations with the modded Sli drivers :)

you forget one thing, 500 mhz on a p965 is like 460 mhz on a i975. Look @ all the super pi`s :cool: .
