Waiting so long on the RD600 board is a joke. those of us who bought P965/975X based boards in july have been using the topnotch for a long time. Waiting half a year on the RD600, if it should be better is useless. Then you can just aswell wait on bearlake chipets another half year away and so on. RD600 will just come too late to the party and arrive when all the people have gone home.

You guys are going to be singing a different story when the board wipes the floor with everything else on the market. x1950 crossfire is good enough until R600 and there is still the possibility of hacked forceware drivers for 8800GTX SLI.
I don't understand how people can rip on DFI for waiting until RD600 is perfect to release it. You've all got your DS3's and P5B's to keep you busy until then...

There were details of the chipset given on this board, it looked ok for such a quick botch together sample. Pricepoint is what Iam wondering about, if it costs the same as the 680 I will just buy a secondhand ds3 or something as people with bigger budgets will no doubt be upgrading.
Ive seen a 945gz for 30, Im tempted just to buy that and forget about it.
The merger of these companies undoubtly delayed this board, not sure if thats a case for complaint, more a special case

with the sucessful launch of the 680i, I am starting to re-think my plans...

R600 was never supposed to be out now with the info in the past 3 months. When vista got delayed so did R600
When it does come out, it will be cheaper ?

It is "supposed" to be highly overclockable and have independent clocking for the cpu and memory so no more dividers. So basically, you are able to set your memory to it's fastest speed and the cpu to it's fastest speed independent of one another. :)Quote:

Noone's making you wait for this motherboard. I have time and I'm perfectly satisfied really. The only reason I want it out faster is so that I can finally get a list of how exactly my build is going to go.

The R600 was supposed to come out when vista came out. Vista has been delayed so the R600 has been delayed. Not really hard to see that.
Bingo13 mentioned a 2006 release date so that means anywhere in the next 51 days. It could be a surprise release and be out tomorrow or it can wait for thanksgiving/christmas to make the biggest sales splash possible. It is seriously hard to wait less than 2 months for one of the other boards to come out and then be compared and for prices to drop on other boards you may be looking at?
Too many people are confusing RD600 with R600.
for the record RD600 goes inside a motherboad
R600 goes in a videocard
