Still, it does help. And 1:1 is finally stable up to 870Mhz too (FSB 435Mhz). I'm sure with some more Vdimm I could go for 950.. maybe next bios..
new P5B WR = 562.99MHz

Hi, I'm new in this forum, so cheers :toast:
I'm using Asus P5B (Not Deluxe), Allendale E6300, 2 GB of Corsair XMS2 800MHz, 5-5-5-12, 500W ULTRA V-Series PSU, BIOS 509. I have some questions:
1. What does Vanilla mean?
2. How can I change the multi to *8 ?
3. How the :banana: I can run my PC at ~400*8 :slobber: :slobber: :slobber:
Now I'm at 390*7=2728MHz. SuperPI 1MB 20seconds. When I try to set 400 the system frezes in Windows, any ideas?
Help yould be appreciated.
P.S. Sorry for my english skills. I live in Canada just 1 month :woot:
asus p5b vanilla
0309 bios
vdimm=2.1
vfsb=1.45
vcore=1.45

can't get past 497 FSB...no boot no matter what i do...:(
vdimm mod is on the way...i think my crucial balistix pc6400 can't do ddr1000@5-6-6-15@2.1V - need more juice...
freezer 7 pro & mbo stock cooling
Does it help overclocking if i change the FSB Termination Voltage?
congrats m8 , what did u use to clock in windows ?Quote:

I have seen some able to overclock (I think a E6400) using stock voltage by about 40% but I can't easily replicate that.
My current stable speed is 360FSB using x9 multiplier but didn't try torture test it yet so it may not be stable in the end..
So my question, is the E6600 a very bad overclocker ?
Or is E6600 + P5B a bad combination ?
My setup is :
Zalman 460W
P5B Vanilla with 509 bios
2x1GB Crucial PC6400
X1900XT 512mb
Audigy ZS
2 Seagate SATA drives
2 ATA drives
AFAIK this setup is fairly standard and my PSU should handle all that pretty easily..
Thanks
any one a oc tool for windows yet !
I have a P5B (vanilla) and E6400. I'm able to run 400x8 stable (orthos 19hr screen shot below). What I'm finding hard is to get long term orthos stability much over 400fsb, even if I relax ram timings / up voltage etc. I can run a single SuperPI fine, but Orthos isn't coming to the party (i.e. not stable). I will keep reading your site / info for tips. All in all pretty happy with this board.

I OC my Allendale E6300 to 3.2GHz :toast:
Specs:
Asus P5B Vanilla
2x 1GB Corsair XMS2 800MHz 5-5-5-15 @940MHz 5-6-6-18.
eVGA 7900GT
Cooler Master Hyper 48
Seagate 250GB
Vcore:1.39V
Ram Vdimm: 2.1V
FSB Termination Voltage 1.45V
Can't run them at 5-5-5-12 no POST :slap:
SuperPI: 17.9 sec :banana:
Anyone know ram vdimm mods?

any suggestions for a active cooler on NB/SB?
Im using a swiftech MCX159 on NB. you can also just put a 40mm fan over the NB. SB doesn't need it really.Quote:

or does this board boots good if the strap is over 401 mhz see the http://www.bleedinedge.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23803 story ?
Would you know what revision of your E6600 ?Quote:

And that's with a Scythe Infinity.
I purchased some Arctic Silver 5 and will use it tonight to see if it helps bringing the temperature down (I'm using AS3 at the moment but it may not be well applied and/or heatsink is not properly fixed either).

pushed cpu and bord i think to the max for now .

What is your ram ? I've got Crucial Ballistix Pc6400 supposed to go near 450mhz but I can't push that yet..
Cheers

I see..I was surprised with the screenshot you posted showing voltage of circa 1.2v..Had a look at that Mach 2 and it's not something for me indeed :eek:Quote:
