money just speeds up the process... i've gone through over 20 opty 165's looking for a great clocker, and i went through multiple 7900GT's before i found one that hit some decent clocks, and i am pretty poor.

i don't know why i do this considering i don't have the cooling to get the full potential out of this stuff...

i know that eva :)

but, like you said, there is still skill involved in overclocking. i agree on your 1/3 parts, the easy part seems getting the best hardware, the hard part would be benching it hard enough to beat records, but "hopefully" not hard enough to kill it:D

seriously though, this is getting lame. i hate these kind of threads almost as much as i hate the "[insert new cpu] incoming", then you read the thread and find out it's still a week away before anything happens.

LOL..I really hate those threads too :).
I think the intention of post was not to play games, but nothing more than to show off some Conroe/7900GTX SLI ownage IN ALL 3D BENCHMARKS,NOT JUST ONE. How often do you see a thread where 01,03,05,06,and am3 WR are broken in one shot and from the looks of things, this is just scratching the surface of what this combo or 590SLI is capable ;). I know ATI is strong in 05,01 blah blah blah and scores will be fierce with guy's like Hipro,MM,macci, rickpedro, etc benching it..but for now 7/29/06 the screenshots say how it is though unofficial in some marks. It is a thread worth posting to say the least. Does it really matter for now who made the results? It's about the scores, not who made them.

It's a shame Nvidia won't recognize this combo. They are only hurting em self.

not.......maybe I could compete with Compgeek and his killer 7900GTs with mine. But unfortuanetely i do not have the money for 2 gtxs and my 805 sucks (4.0 only :(). Anyways im waiting on 90k '01 by Ricky and Pedro Rocha with their awesome crossfire setup. Good luck guys. :)

Well, as the Orb is now open for Conroe results if he wants to be official he is going to be unmasked a la the fairground owner in Scooby Doo....

Drivers have my scores in shambles, most unpublichable.

Gives me some work to do, at least up up over 4.7Ghz now.

6601 is doing some wierd stuff with Crossfire but at least it works.
