I was told they had it sorted but i have not seen the bios, i will ask again to see if they have a bios ready for release...till then we wait.
Please note i have been telling most people to get the 6700 ot 6800 with the DFI or ANY Intel chipset board, reason being its blinding fast with higher multi's on the CPU, Clevor overclockers will use the 1066 strap anyway as its faster ;) so even if we get a bios that pushes the strap over 1066 you may want to run it anyway ;)

You could always force the 1333 with the BSEL pins on the CPU, so it is possible now even with a hardware mod.

hmm they told me it wasnt possible with bios.. lets just hope.
All I need is 400 FSB for the time being until other mobo come out in a few months.
Will the DFI be ok for 400 x 9 with my E6600?
I have read this thread but i'm still a bit confused.
Some are saying that 370 is only achievable.
Can someone please clarfiy this for me before I order this mobo please?
The bad axe I got rid of,and the asus is having problems at the mo so the DFI seems the only choice as a stop gap mobo.
Ideally I want 3.6ghz for now.
Thanks in advance.:)
Thanks for the update Tony, can you please link or explain the BSEL pins to force 1333 strap please ???Quote:

can you not get 400 fsb?
And is smart guardian buggy as your cpu temp is way off!
he is at an fsb wall
he is using a cascade, smart guardian cant read negative temps.
so even if you volt mod mch to say 1.9v the dfi can't get past >370fsb at 1067fsb ?Quote:

BTW, freecableguy told to rise the PCIe to 101MHz to get extra 20/30 FSB Mhz.
hopefully DFI can fix itQuote:

400FSB possible, but with lower mem. strap...

Nice result man. I think it's about 99% sure now that the 1333FSB strab will fix the problems you guys have. Your result really indicates that the wall is caused by timings in the chipset.Quote:

No SLI under i975x unless you got the modified drivers.Quote:

Anyone know if there is a "Hit" on the 975 Chipset's MAX O/C for running 4 x DDR2 Dimms?
Also, does anyone know which Fat D9 Modules are the best to go for?
1GB or 2GB kits depending on Max O/C Hit.
Thanks in advance. :)
0707 bios will open (6800XE) stepping 4 multis, not stepping 5:(

Pff, all this trouble. Every board has some quirks I guess, but nobody seems to get Conroe right at this point. I'm sure it will be a matter of bios update, but knowing DFi this might take some time :rolleyes:Quote:
