Didn't rly try 3D, I hope 10k+, but i'm runnin' with a poor 3000+ ( 2.7ghz :/ )..

Stock cooling + a 120mm fan, the problem should not be the memory chips, but their supply :/

Yea, that cpu would be a bottleneck. you will definetly get 10k because i get 10500 stock with my 4400. Plans on vmodding anytime soon?

Yea, Vmod today, i'm making a fix for my SL3.

I'll probably try under -45°C next week, maybe with a T2500 ou T2600. :p:

I put rads on all mofsets, and on GDDR :D

Eva, you will not get any benefit IMO the gt's run too cool to be held back by temps on the stock cooler with stock volts. The most you might see is around 10mhz but probably not even that.

5-10mhz, 20 tops.
EVGA (sig) stock volts -> 550 -> 555 stable from stock air to water. Idle temps actually went up moving to water due to added heat from the X2 in the loop...

all from XFX. 520/1500 v1.1.

stock:

1) 580/850 10k in mark05 on 2860MHz Opty 148 260x11
2) 570/850
3) 570/850

1 and 2 in SLI 520/1500: 13.550 in mark05 on 2860MHz 260MHz 2-2-2-5 1T HT4x

no issues. SLI tested on 570/850 - no problems in F.E.A.R.

not bad I think :)

Here's first SLI run with 7900gt's 600/1644...i think i can get at least 130 out of core with 1.55v...this score any good for clocks.

GAMES: 32c

SCAN ARTIFACTS : 34c

i have:
Asus 7900GT default 450/1350(i think)
Stock Volts
oc'ed to 550/900

riva tuner will not even let me monitor temps. i thought default speeds were 450 and 1350... but when i open the nvidia part with coolbits, it only lets me take the memory up to 900mhz max and core speed of about 560 stable. however, the asus utility lets me go to 550 core and 1550 ram speeds. why doesnt riva tuner or the nvidia program work? and how do i add volts? is it a soldering process?

umm..that's programatical reporting differene. 550 core is normal for gt's and 900 mem in coolbits is often stated as 1800mhz elsewhere
you'll probably find that coolbits reports half the asus utilities memory speed at stock.

all you need now is better cooling and a like 1.4vgpu voltmod :D

i have a nv6 silencer on it.

so the 900mhz is really 1800mhz since its ddr? where can i find instructions on this voltmod:D as long as its not too terribly hard, ill pick up a new solder tip and try it out.

This is with a 1.4V mod and a NV Silencer 5 cooler
Temps are not the greatest (~50C idle and up to 85C load) I've seen 90c on a hot day!

They are soem pretty warm temps these , mine peaks at around 55 and idles at 41 with 1.5 volts, Im using Thermalright V1 Ultra :)

Those temps only pop up during COD2. Even after 2 hours of 3dmark05 on a loop the temps did not break 75C.

Thats an amazingly high score for a sub $500AU card :toast: :toast:

With my Fusion GPU block I never get above ~ 43C :fact: :eek: :D

Update: I fixed the temps, now the load temps are in the mid 60s. Because I used a NV Silencer 5 which is designed for the 7800s, I had to cut it to fit. Since I cut it a little too much, I extended it by making several layers of electrical tape around it. It turned out that once heated the tape expanded and almost completely blocked off the vent. I now cut all the tape off and after hours of gaming in the hottest day yet, I stayed in the mid 60s.

just so you know, the nv6 silencer fits perfectly with no modding... you will need to reroute the power line though.

I don't think the memory sink cooler part would line up, but the gpu only part might work ok.. you could try it an see I suppose.. those default 79gt coolers are pretty weak.. almost anything would be an improvement :D

Got my XFX 7900GT Xtreme edition (520/1500) today. :banana:
I was a little dissapointed when i saw BC-14 instead of BJ-14 but it turned out well. :)
At stock voltage and stock cooler 10K in 3D mark 05 was easy attainable at 570/1800.
The core gets blistering hot >60C!! :eek:

I can't wait for my full cover EK waterblock to arrive so that i can do the 1.4V mod, aiming for 11K or more. :)

Just ordered EVGA 7900GT KO from chiefvalue. Should come here in a few days. I'll report on how well it OCs. The reason I got KO is coz it was the cheapest and I am not planning on getting 3rd party cooler for now.

Yeah Willis that sounds about right, try upping the cpu clocks, if you can. That might help your score a bit, But I think 10.9k is ok with 25xxmhz cpu :) Hope you will try breaking the 12k also :)

Yeah thought so ;) just wanted wanted him to try breaking it with the stockcooler :) I couldn't do it with the stockcooler, but i finally managed it with the VF900-Cu and 1.5v on the core. :) need new cpu and GL Willis with your 7900GT project.

Installed my 7900GT KO. Coolbits auto OC set it at 570/820. I am OCing it further, but will not mod it yet.

This is the max score I can get with my newly acquired XFX 7900GT 520/1500 :

10027 in 3dM05 - 7900GT 585/1692 with stock cooling/volts

Next up.. volt mods and better cooling!

mem will do 1ghz i hope , have to re do vdd mod need extra 100k ohms pot . or ells it wont work , tody gone see what max core is ;)
dont ask aboute the low framps a p4 socket 478 @ only 3.75ghz is a gaint bottleneck :D
only 8k 05 @ gfx stock need to mod the bord to :p

Raise the mem clocks over 900mhz with AtiTool and after that Coolbits shows your current clocks.

overclocking, directx and opengl tweaks etc can be made to work, but unfortunately the hardware monitor will have to wait for the next version :shrug:

Has anyone managed to BIOS fix or cool those two IC's on the bottom back of the card?

Mine are blistering hot and when I push the card too much it restarts because of them.

Any help would be appreciated because I know this card can go further.

EDIT: I have ramsinks on them at the moment (the cheap zalman ones) and they get boiling hot still.

Got a new XFX 7900GT extreme edtion to replace my broken one. :banana:
Did the 1.4V mod right away and running stable at 700MHz core!!

The mem isn't 100% stable at 900MHz but i hope some burn in will make it stable at 900MHz.
