probably i have one of the baddest Venny. by Big Typhoon it is only 2610Mhz with 1.7Volts. its 30week 2005 (e3 stepp.) ....

Why my athlon 64 3200 venice dont work on 280x10 ... but works fine on 300x9 ??? if i give 280x10 then when comp restart the core speed is default 200x10 what is problem ????

Nbbwe 0608 3200+

Just got this baby yesterday and it goes 2.8 on stock volts right off the bat!:woot: just wondering if anyone else got a nbbwe stepping? Is it gonna like volts? can I hit 3ghz?

ok i have a peculiar chip i can get to 2500 mhz stock vCore with stable prime but cant seem to get any higher stable regardless of vcore. system specs in signature. any ideas on how to improve stabilty on oc or anything im doing wrong. It is my first oc and first system build so not too positive about everything although i have tried to follow the read read read then test method xD my mobos max stable fsb is around 313 so im sure it isnt that

what ram divider are you running at?

Your HTT and CPU multiplier don't add up...

Plus, its not recommended that you use half multipliers.

ok i see what you were saying.... i accidentally hit one instead of two.

my ram is cpu/14 now that i changed the speeds to reflect a non-half multiplyer :D im not sure why but it wont seem to go any farther..... i guess a 700mhz oc isnt that bad :D

Finally got the vapochill (PE) on my 0517 E3 Venice.
Seeing much better clocks but the temperature is still :banana::banana::banana::banana:house. :/
Currently @ 2.9 and pushing (was 2.7 stable with TT bit typhoon).
What volts are you guys finding you need to get decent speed outta these chips?

Question for the experts

I have a Venice ADA3000DAA4BW (LBBWE 0603DPMW). It's a very efficient CPU at 2.8ghz, taking 1.55v and temps vary from idle at 32°c up to 45°c at load.

Now if I start overclocking it past that 312mhz FSB (9X), at any voltage it doesn't much get past 2900mhz and makes errors in benchmarks, or reboots if not enough voltage.

Now I saw something on GCPUID in the CPU Power management. The flag is called TCaseMax = 55°c. Anyone knows what that means? :confused:

This seems like another one of those factory settings. I'd gladly handle a TCaseMax = 65°c if only it was available. But maybe the proc would do errors in such a case(?). Anyhow, since the proc is naked, the lowest temps I'm getting with a room temp of 23°c is 29°c idle up to 50°c on TOAST at 1.55-1.57v (voltage varies slightly, but it's 1.4v 110%).

Not sure if it's too late.... the best tool is OCCT!!! The fastest way is to use the program with the lowest voltage allowed! I use CBid to manually set multi and voltage. You'll have to be patience... and a good PSU will help You to get the best results!

Theres more and more people just posting screenies & links without stepping & cooling info, which is the most important part.

Seems some of the new venices are performing on par with some of the older <21's E3's, reason why I am re-emphasising this point.

24/7 settings for my little 3000+ (LBBLE 0545XPMW) and G.Skill PC3200 Value ram, not done tweaking the mem will try to run it all a bit faster but I'm pretty sure 2800mhz (on air) aint doable with my 3000+ :(

NVM, was at 2.87, but after putting a mem divider of 7/10 running at 2.8v, I got it to 2.95 stable @ 1.52v! too bad it doesnt seem to want to go over 2.97ish without having issues, even after tweaking ram, volts, everything. O well, 2.95 stable is a happy medium for me :)

cooling is a Thermaltake Polo 735, and stepping....Eh, Im not in the mood for removing my heatsink/fan at the moment, but I am going to have to get in there to remove my 7900gt for shipping, so I may as well take a look. BTW, at 2.95 @ 1.52, it wasnt stable, but at 1.58v it was! temps at idle are right around 30C and under load are about 50-52C. Not too bad, but by the time I get watercooling, Ill have a new cpu probably. Its just a shame my ram is very nice, but hates OC with a passion. I could only hit 275fsb before I had to put it on a mem divider, even after pumping some volts into it. Right now its runnning 3/4 stock timings because it throws a fit the second I adjust timings.

*OH, btw guys, should I put all OCs back to stock before I take my 3200+ out?

Good safety measure to eliminate any possible problems from occuring, although clearing the CMOS may be a quicker option.

then your stepping is LBBLE 0543 WPMW, batch # 219 :D

good low batch # and *PMW stepping tends to indicate good clocker

hi guys just got my opteron 146 2.0ghz havent done anything yet to it as ive only just built it but just running smart guardian to see what temps im getting for the cpu and its at 21degrees its only standard heatsink in a shark case thought it would be abit higher then that?

thats pretty bad seeing as how my 3200+ and 7900gt beat that score. You need to OC that opty a lot more dude, that will bring up your score plenty :toast:

I want ! But i'm from Singapore ... so it's pretty hard to send it over.

Anyway just to post some results, my LBBWE 0545 CPAW 3000+ [Venice E6] could do 2.68Ghz [297x9] @ 1.58V, on my AMD stock cooler. Temps were somewhere around 42C idle and 51C load. [Ambient temperatures are pretty high around here].

Changed my cooler to a Scythe Ninja, and same results [but significantly lower load temperatures], trying to get it to 2.7Ghz @ 1.6V. I'm thinking it's the chip, but i'm pretty satisfied as i've seen some others with 0545 can't hit 2.65Ghz with voltage below 1.6V, so i got a lucky one :D.

If possible, i might want to purchase a chip that can do better than mine, as i find that many 3000+ are pretty under-used or un-used already. Looking at something that can clock 2.7Ghz with less than 1.55V, so i can do some benching. I've always dreamt about a 0517. PM me if you have one for sale =D.

With all the over clocking going on what is the life span of a CPU? Do you leave it over clocked when you check your email?

If I over clock my Venice 3200+ to 2.4ghz, keep the temps and voltage normal will it go down with the sun or last into my old age?

Is long term over clocking a CPU killer?

So far I haven't really read of anyone's cpu failing from overclocking over a period of time. Obviously it might reduce the lifetime of the cpu but by then it will be a good time to upgrade. I think everyone who overclocks leaves it overclocked as long as it's stable. I don't have any issues with leaving mine overclocked all the time, even if it sits there idle all day.

yes, leave it overclocked. otherwise, what's the point? everything runs faster= yay for you! :fact:

fwiw, I ran my 3200+ Winchester on stock air cooler @ 2460mhz 1.65v for over a year, it still runs solid for my friend with a slight overclock. running a chip right now I've had for over 6 months...most of the time running 24/7 voltage between 1.55v-1.65v on air cooling and 2700-2808mhz. have benched as high as 1.75v for periods as long as a half hour and even the memory controller is still working perfectly. (or as perfectly as E3 mem controller can:rolleyes: ). now it's even a naked chip (no IHS) with an air cooler that is mounted horizontally...both kind of dangerous...no problems!

these little chips are tough if you are careful with them they will probably run even highly overclocked much longer than you need them. as long as you keep temperatures low and don't push the voltage into the realm of stupidity, you definitely benefit from a 24/7 overclock imho.

now : CORSAIR TWIN-x 1024 - 4000 PRO - DDR 500 CL3 4-4-8
Theses Samsung runing at 250 MHz ( DDR 500 ) and Theses CORSIR runing at 275 Mhz ( DDR 550 ) i get equal points in 3D Mark 2001 , 2003 , 2005 :( .

its becuase your ram timings in the second one are just a hair slower and cpu is 22mhz lower. plus 01' is a crappy program to test performance on IMO. try running 05' and see the difference.

3dmark01 is better for testing differences in cpu performance than 05 is. the newer 3dmarks are very gpu dependant and cpu performance doesnt have as much of an impact. another program to try would be aquamark3 and see if your score inscreases, that is a more cpu dependent bench.

I tested this memory alone , in single channel and surprise !!!
Memory runing at 286 Mhz , and in dual channel runing max 2.75 ghz
Why ? trouble in memory ? or trouble in dual channel of my motherboard ?
Or in single channel is possible more clock ???
My memory are serial number ----5469 and 5470
Please anybody help-me :-(

I've hit a wall at 2500MHz on my NBBWE 3500+... I can't understand why... ?
Don't most of these chips hit over 2600MHz? I have an 0606... My E3 3200+ was much better than this... and a lot cooler... this thing is hotter at stock than my 3200+ was OC'd to 2.8GHz at 1.7v.... Doesn't make sense.... Oh, and the IHS was still on the 3200... :/

What's the max voltage I should go for? I keep hearing different numbers... IE 1.65, 1.75, 1.55, etc.

Couldn't I test volts with OCCT at stock speeds until it gets unstable or above 55°C? Or is that unsafe?
