1988 BMW 528e...errr...527it? Custom Turbo nearly finished....
i'll put my brothers car up here.
02 blue z06, head cam intake, catted xpipe, long tubes, stock cat back. 3.90 rearend gears.
430whp, rediculously fast, stops in no time as well.(put it in 3rd at 50 got up to 120 in the snap of a finger, got on the breaks lightly and i got thrown forward)
i'll have pics up later.
it's great, it's quiet, almost sounds stock, but you can make out the lobing ofthe cam.
1998 Civic H/B B18c5 swap, Jackson Racing Super Charger, 5 lug conversion... and way too much to type out. anyhow I just bought it off a friend.

nice
I don't like civic/ricer but I have to admit, your car is awesome ! :yepp:
Ricers are much different then true import enthusiasts. Ricers make poor Honda/acura cars look like total crap :(
I never liked the different colored body panels thing. It just looks so hic-ish...
cool
why the hell would u paint carbon fiber. lol thats like using a vapochill on a cpu that will never get overclocked............
Very slick honda man.
I'm saving to work on the stang so I can impress you guys ;). I wanna rebuild the 5.0, mild HCI, New interior, New Paint...gonna be niiice.
I Own an Mitsubishi Lancer from ´97 with 75PS, nothing special :)
But here we go
I´ve got one Problem, the engine is too big

Its a Kawasaki GPX 750 r engine with 106PS, its from ´88 and should go nearly 160mph, but i won´t drive that fast, this would be a suicide ride for real ;)
PS: Sorry for my bad english, i can´t really write it, but i can read and understand it ;), so long......
Looks like a great project, I certainly wanna see what comes out off it :D
I wanna finish this thing before New Year, but i think 2 week in January it will be done ;)
a CF hood is lighter and areodynamicly correct unlike having no hood(wind resistance) coef. drag ever heard of it? so it helps the car perform better the same way a vapo does with a cpu. they are both tools. so yes they are the same. how it looks and how it functions are 2 totaly different arguments.
ok you are just a moron. its not like putting amd in an intel board because u can put a CF hood on a white car yes it is possible we have all seen pictures and it works very well.(still functions)you cant make an intel board function with an amd chip. i dont even think you can paint CF because you would have to sand it and that would ruin the top protective coating. so now you have just shown your ignorance on cars and computers.
http://youtube.com/profile?user=VL125
there are some examples of earlier versions.
Why do you persist? I fail to see how any of this has anything to do with painting carbon fiber.Quote:

For future reference, if you're gonna use big words, please spell them right.
Aerodynamically
Drag Coefficient
the drag coef on a stock appearance CF hood, vs. the stock hood non CF is no different.
anywho, and now for those pics of the 11.5 sec qt mile beast you've been wanting to see.

It's dirty again....
Nice color :) I like blue on a vette.
A vapo LS is like the supercharger on his B series. Gives a healthy (though could be better) performance boost. A CF hood is like disabling themes in windows (dont get technical about how they boost spi performance on conroe please). It's mainly a looks thing and some people prefer it one way and others prefer it the other way. The performance difference would be very difficult to measure. Only difference is, disabling themes is free and a CF hood is costly
Trance your bros vette is awesome looking!
I hope my "Projekt" will do the qt mile in under 12sec too, but i´m scared of it, b ecause of the selfmade Frame and the whells, but it does 2,9 seconds from 0-60mph and the Max speed is with 160mph too much too.
I hate to be devil's advocate, but, it seems fair game. :) The GT-R thread didn't exactly go without any Nissan haters.
Come on guys, can't ya'll just kiss and make up? Its not that important.
Yeesh, I've gotta listen to all this junk at work because I like Pontiac. But sometimes ya just gotta restrain hehe.
thats what it has to do with and yes it is the same they both boost performance just one smaller than the other. who cares about color. you said has no functionality. it clearly does..... lighter weight dont talk about what you dont know about stick to street cars lol. and what word did i not spell right webster?
still can be measured small but still there.. any other comments?
It doesn't say anywhere in motorsport regulations that CF must be painted. So why is it painted? You know there are very extremely fine applications of paint to keep drag down?
I can't even see pics of the interior. Besides, very nice Vette there Trance!
You've got to show us pics of your Stang now :D
stang is in one of my albums on put file, along with the old camaro. coulda sworn i posted pics of em all
This is really becoming asinine. You know, I don't really care whether I was right or wrong about your stupid analogy. There is one thing that I cannot be wrong about, and that is my opinion that a car with a different colored hood is reminiscent of what people where I come from call hic cars.
There are plenty of painted carbon fiber fenders and hoods out there; yes you can paint carbon fiber. In fact, it really takes care of sunlight degredation nicely.
Can't believe you guys were arguing about it. People have different styles, having a carbon fiber hood unpainted is a style. We all have different things we appreciate on our cars and also computers.
"we need to have respect for each other's ideas and for each other's hard work. I know it's hard to put one's preferences aside and respect things that we don't understand - it's so much easier to talk smack. Let's remember that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and though we may not agree with someone else's style, our world would be a much better place if we all had respect for each other. After all we are all just car people." - Rj de Vera, Modified Mag
Thank god that's over.
No its not. ;)
:hehe: :hehe: :horse: :horse: :horse:
2007 Infinity M45 Sports is what i currently drive.
BMW dealer screwed me on my 550i. The Infinity store was next door, and the dealer offered it to me at 2g's below invoice after hearing how badly bmw screwed me over.
so in the end it came out okey. Not as fast as a 550i, but definitely the same amount of fun driving one.
And how did the BMW dealership play with you? Lease breakage costs ? Excess mileage charges ?
So. Cal. you say? One fine day, I hope to see you on the road.. and I won't be in a 997 :)
I like to see the GT-R with California catalytic convertors and American lame 93 octane gas lol... :)
Nazu,
No... California is especially bad. That is not to say that the United States has any better emissions laws than any other country. Its just that the US government imposes ridiculous HP robbing emissions equipment. Again, that does not mean the US cars put out the lowest emissions. Quite to the contrary.
California in particular has the worst/strictest emissions laws of all fifty states. People often dread buying a used car from California if they live outside of California. Its as bad as 20 hp for some high horsepower cars. Its a nightmare. A lot of US states are following California's leadership in terms of emissions control, and soon, all fifty states will require cars to have those ridiculous catalytic convertors that kill all performance.
And I haven't gotten to the miserable 93 octane gasoline yet.
Thatis why I like doing my driving outside of the US in non-US cars.
Yeah I know that the emission laws are the strictest in California from all the US states, but how do they compare to Europe/Japan? That was my question. I also heard that they have different octane ratings in US than they have in Europe. So you can't directly compare them. Surely the US doesn't have _that_ crappy gas...
jesus from what i see here ye yanks should not be complaining about cat convertors in the Eu everycar has to have one.also In Ireland we think a 2.0 litre would be a very nice car while from looking around here you all drive 4-5 litres as the normal ,well i suppose our cars do cost +20,000$ then yours since we have to give 21% to the government.
one other thing that pisses me off you all complain about gas (petrol) prices in the US here in Ireland and most Eu countires we pay $6.41 per gallon.(converted)
so please stop your complaining
california is the most strict place in the world asfaik. i've heard of ppl getting 1k+ fines for not having cats, and some people can get their cars impounded.
i've never complained about gas prices, frankly i dont care.
luckily i live in tx, where the cops dont have sniffers on them, nor do they really care, although it is against the law to not have cats.
Oh yes.. the US has the crappy 93 octane gas. Actually, the octane ratings are a little underestimated, at least compared to European 98 octane. However, the Corvette shows its 505 hp based on US gas. That is why when it gets to Germany, it kicks ass and takes names against all other 500-ish HP cars.
The complaints were not about gas prices. I myself drive a 5.5 litre V8 car everyday.
I understand that Dutch prices are as high as US$9.50 a US gallon.
The complaints were about catalytic convertors and their effect on performance.
Talking about expensive cars, I was raised in a country where car ownership is among the most exhorbitant in the world. Take a standard family Honda Accord. The government imposes 350% tarriff on cars. Therefore, a $30,000 Honda Accord in the US would cost about US$140,000 new. But hold on a second. First, you need to buy the rights to buy a car. Of course, you pay that fee to the government. Its really an auction system, like Ebay. The rights to buy a car increases like crazy during the Christmas season because you quickly get out-bid by some other desperate dude. Based on a standard 2.0 litre engine, that costs about $50,000 to the government.
Now, you get to keep the car for only 10 years, after which it goes into the scrap yard. Don't think that you can trade it in either, because its worthless. Say, you have a true classic that is priceless and you refuse to take it to the junk yard... let's say a McLaren F1 or Ferrari F40.. those are more than 10 years old lol. The government will murder you on the extra taxes on classic cars. People pay enough to buy a house every year to keep the treasured cars they love.
Gasoline is relatively cheap (relatively) in that country, and costs about US$5.00 a gallon. Taxes. The taxes on a car with a 2.0 litre engine are about $10,000 a year (or about $100,000 a year on a Rolls Royce). Insurance. Forget about it. Basically, don't drive before you are 25 years old even if your dad buys you the new BMW M6.
Now we get to the fun part. The privilege to drive into the city during rush hour. Its about $8 per entry. Good luck if you need to leave the city and come back in during rush hour. Parking. Forget about it.
Don't try to speed either. The cops drive modified M3s.. yes BMW M3s and the latest models too. Either that or BMW RS bikes. All that in a country where it takes exactly 55 minutes to drive from one end of the country to the other end at the legal speed limit of 80 km/h on the highway. Yet, there are still ridiculously ostentatious cars there. The speeding ticket? Forget about it. Over-do the speeding and you become somebody's b1tch for the weekend lol :)
What country is this IanY? Sounds like a communist dictatorship.
Yeah... except that its one of the most prosperous countries on Earth. Double digit GDP growth, capital surplus, etc etc And it is a major U.S. naval base for the Indian Ocean. Sad isn't it?
Its Singapore.
skateboard.
dead serious too. I live 10 mins from school and 10 mins from work.
in a few months I'll likely be driving my dad's old mercedes, but I want to avoid the additional costs of fuel and insurance for the time being.
These are my cars.. (and my wifes)
2001 Audi Allroad
http://www.elmenhorst.no/willy/allroad.JPG
And 1996 Hummer H1
http://www.elmenhorst.no/willy/H1.JPG
Sick vehicles dude, I love'em both. They're both sweet in their own ways
thanks :)
If I could only keep one, it would be the Audi.
But I can't get myself to sell the hummer..
Is your H1 the TurboDiesel model or the gasoline model ? Thanks.
1962
Ferrari 250GTE
In my country, the taxes for these cars are unreasonable high.
I paid 86.000$ for my car. And it’s a 2 seat only. I have to pay 50.000$ more if I want to put in the back seats legally.
A new Alpha would cost somewhere around 330.000$
And the Diesel is over 7$ per galon. :)
My issue is that I used to have a boat. I no longer have a boat, so I wouldn't know how to use it.. as it is, my neighbors hate me ;)
You can combine those two you know :)
http://www.elmenhorst.no/willy/HummerBoat.jpg
The Hummer Pirateship lol...
Looks like it certainly gonna float :p:
It’s definitely a floater.. hehe
tyty :)
I love my Audi in the winter :)
My winter rims sux though...
I own a 2003 Acura TL Type S w/navi. And a 07 Sentra SER SpecV. :)
i currently drive a 2001 Acura Integra LS. i've outgrown it and i don't enjoy driving it anymore. summer '08 i'm either going to buy an Infiniti G35 AWD sedan, or a BMW 328xi. most likely the infiniti.
The G35 Sport Sedan looks pretty neat :) But I guess the awd model is more practical if you live in a region that has a real winter.
i wish infiniti made an awd G37, that would be the winner hands down :(
When I pay off my 03 (next year). I am debating between a new TL Type S or a G35.
Love that car!
Maybe it doesn't suit most of your tastes.. but this is my regular driver.
No.. I tend to not like MB-owned AMGs :D I like the classic AMGs from the 70s and 80s, when MB did not own AMG. My wife does drive an older SL55 AMG (2003 model stock) but it's going back to the dealer soon.. in 2 months.
Oh yeah. Just to ensure I'm tacky, those are AMG wheels.. on a regular car lol
The new S63 V8 is quite nice, but I prefer the more comfortable regular car interior. Carbon fiber, aluminum and all that stuff should be left to sports cars. The S65 V12 is beyond ridiculous. I actually like the S600 V12 best, but I prefer to focus my attention on sports cars. Anyway, the car is fast enough for reliable family transporation. Any more comfortable and I may fall asleep at the wheel.
