Martin Im pretty sure A5 throttling is set at 75c or 80c not 70c. Otherwise mine would be throttling all the time, its sitting at 70c constantly with low speeds on the pumps and fans. The PA2s definitely throttle at 80c.

I think it is 95c shut down and resets again at 70c. 80c wouldn't start throttling but I figured since it resets at 70 that 70 should be plenty safe?
Has anyone tried flashing firmware in the new AS2012 Beta 12?
My new board came with firware 1020, so I've put it in recovery mode, downloaded the latest Beta 12 software and have attempted to update the firmware to 1021 several times now. It takes forever for the green indicator bar to complete (30min?), and each time it doesn't seem to be taking.
Maybe I need to shut down some background tasks or something?
Thanks!
I do have one fan plugged in, I'll disconnect and try it again. Or maybe I have the whole jumper process all mixed up. First time I had to flash twice and I wasn't sure when I was supposed to remove the jumpers for recovery mode. Been trying by putting the jumpers in, turning on until it beeps, then turning it back off, removing jumpers, and then turning on and trying to flash. Maybe you do need to leave them in while flashing.
First time I tried to flash with the old AS beta 10 I believe and it failed so I had to remove the old software, download the new, and use recovery mode to start over.
Aquero 5 xt
No troubles with update. AS 2012. Firmware 1021 flashing no difficulties.
I tried beta 12 probably 6 or 7 times now, I even just tried it on another computer thinking it's my MSI board USB issues which I do have on occasion, but I haven't had success in the recovery mode screen turning off yet.
I'm going to try flashing in my old beta 10 to 1019 now and hopefully that works.
I don't think anything is damaged, just stuck in recovery mode and needs the new firmware plugged in. I'll get it..
Going to try without the LCD module for a while and cross my fingers. Initially when you jumper and turn on I get a long beep followed by three short beeps (little red led also flashes), but once I remove the jumpers and plug it back in I only get three short beeps.
Are you supposed to update the firmware with or without the jumpers in place? I've tried both now, but assuming you just need to jumper to clear the firmware and then update without them in place?
"Everything unplugged" and alike hacks .. sounds like something that needs to be worked on for product to be more mature. Especially if software & firmware are still called as in beta state and frequent updates to newer versions are expected as common process.
I have an Aquaero 5 and a Poweradjust 2 connected by aquabus. I cant see in aquasuite 12 any PA2 sensor. Which is the problem ?
Thanks
Actually i used Aquasuite 12 beta 12 x64, and i have connected un DDC-1 to my PA2
I don't remember which firmware version my XT came with, but it was older than 1021. I flashed with AS2012 Beta 12 no problem. I didn't even unplug any of the fans or temp sensors. Just hit the button in AS2012, the green bar spent a minute or two loading, XT beeped and rebooted, and I was good to go- albeit with wiped settings (remember to export profile before you flash i guess :) ).
Was thinking of getting one for my case but not sure if it can only handle a limited number of fans. Mostly wanted it for the watercooling aspects but if I can't at least monitor my radiator fans I don't know if it would be worth it.

First, you should setup your Poweradjusts using the older Aquasuite version 4.72, which you can get here . You need to connect each Poweradjust over USB and adjust its Aquabus address.
Once this is done, you can disconnect the USB, plug them in over Aquabus and you should see extra fan channels in your Aquasuite 2012. So, basically, instead of 4 fan channels you should have 10 channels. Each Poweradjust is shown as an extra channel.
Auuasuite 2012 beta 13 is out!

Anybody know where Shoggy is? I've sent him a couple of PMs needing help...
I have two Aquaero 4.0s and apparently only one internal USB header, I wanted to know if I can connect one of the Aquaeros (or both) to external USB headers using these

Software: AS2012 Beta 13
AQ5 Pro Firmware: 1022
PA2 Firmware: 1033
I have 1 AQ5 Pro and 4 PA2 all connected together.
Question (1): Is there any way to have the AQ5 Pro display information for connected PA2s? I had assumed that when PA2s were connected to an AQ5 Pro you could use the AQ5 Pro to scroll through and display information on all fan channels not just the 4 that come with the AQ5 Pro. My AQ5 Pro only shows the 4 channels even with all the PA2 connected. To see all 8 channels I have to use AS2012.
Question (2): While I can see RPMs for all PA2 channels in AS 2012 (nothing is connected to the AQ5 Pro) the software shows no default fan power information for any of the channels. If I try to set values nothing will take (e.g., I can't slow the fans down). The weird thing is I know that when I launched AS2012 yesterday it displayed fan titles (e.g., "Fan 1") and default power values though it still did not let me modify them. I might have updated the firmware in between? I've tried to reinstall AS2012 scratch but that does fix the issue. Am I missing something?
The first image below is how things SHOULD be. The second image is what I see most of the time I start up AS2012B13.
I took both screenshots during the SAME day with the SAME hardware. In either situation I'm unable to modify the voltage for the fans. Whatever value I selected doesn't register.

Thanks.
I would have assumed the same on Q1, but I never actually had a PA2 connected to the AQ5 myself. The only thing I've connected through the aquabus is an aquastream XT.
I'm not sure which takes precedence the manual sliders you have highlighted above or a target controller. Perhaps you need to delete all the controllers you have set up first or something?
Going by memory (#2 board is stuck in recovery mode still), but I recall having some odd control things using the manual min/max controls when I was playing with the old beta 10. If you have a target set up for the fans speeds it just seemed like I had trouble getting the fans to respond to manual controls like that min/max setting.
But, if that's a fresh Beta 13 install, you shouldn't have any target/controls set up yet so I'm not sure why you can't make them control.
I would probably try to flash the PA2s again, then see. I know I've heard that you have to do that separately first. Or maybe there is just a bug with beta 13 or something??
I have this "atx break" for my A5. It's two 24-pin atx connectors with the green #16 wire ps_on replaced with a long wire to relay on A5. It also has a wire added to both #7 and #9 pins corresponding to Standby that route to a standby switch on the A5. I should be able to splice these wires into my ps atx connector, right?
Attachment 124605
Can anyone shed any light on what the third wire is for the relay connector on the A5? Diagram (above) is for A4. A5 has 3-wire relay.
I just purchased 3 PA2s, im a bit bewilded as to how to connect them together and finally to the AQ5 as everything is in german.
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Power Adjust 2 aquabus > aquabus > aquabus > Aquaero High Speed Bus, You can daisy chain them is the easiest method.. There are already numerous post/threads here and on AC forum explaining this.. Also please don't forget to use the old Aquasuite 4.72.00 software and change the firmware to 1003 if not already done so and ID of each PA2 to 50, 51 and 52..
sourceQuote:
Unlike Aquaero 4, the newbie features a three-pin relay. This provides opportunities for not only cutting down the power lane but also switching from one power lane to another.
Where can I find aquaero xt and flow sensor to buy?
This lacking in all the shops that send to Brazil ..
Just got my Aquaero XT today and have two questions:
+ anybody have problems with the buttons beeing over sensitive ? I took the sensitivity down in the options to only level 3 ?
+ next i replaced the front cover from alu to black. Four white washers dropped out but i'm not sure where they go back . Do they go between the faceplate and the print plate or do they go between the brackets and the printplate ?
I'm about to purchase an Aquaero, but I would like to know - can it power LED strips, like the Phobya Flexlight?
These should be available at most major online distributors and they do ship anywhere overseas as far as I know, ie; sidewinders, PPC, etc.. or you can try http://shop.aquacomputer.de direct.
The white washers go between the front aluminum plate and the PCB right behind that, I cant tell at the moment as I would have to take my unit apart to see, but that's what I remember.
As for the over sensitive touch buttons, you need to loosen the 4 screws in front a bit, if they are too tight, it'll cause the buttons to "click themselves"...
I don't see why you can not, the PWM 1/2 output on the Aquaero are 12v / 1A max, since you can extend the flexlight 12/24/36/so on... I wouldn't go nuts and attach 100 LED's to it, but a reasonable amount should be no problem.
I returned my Aquaero XT today.
The keys remained over sensitive even on sensitivity setting 1 and with the front screws very loose.
Also could not update the firmware.
The trick to update with the jumpers on the sensors is something i read about but there are no jumpers included with the device.
Just to much hassle for something that for this price should work perfectly out of the box.
Hi all,
I get this error when I try to setup a curve controller in Aquasuite (aquaero 5). After clicking through Aquasuite crashes, any ideas?
Attachment 124750
with aquasuite open, unplug the aquaero usb cable from the motherboard. exit aquasuite.
open aquasuite and plug the cable back in. go to fans and verify that all the fan information (name, min/max power/rpm, etc) is there. If it looks good, try to create your curve controller again.
Quick question: PA 2 Ultras... can one of them handle both a 655 and a second flow meter at once (connection wise)? I've poked around a bit (including reading this entire thread and I'm still not sure.)
Essentially, I'm planning on 2X 655 pumps for dual loops, 2 flow meters, 4 water temp sensors, some led lights and about 12 fans (GT 15's) in 4 banks...
(4 fans), (4 fans), (2 fans), (2 fans)
I was thinking the PRO + 2 PA 2 Ultras.
Anybody see a problem with that? I've done the math and I think I'm Okay, just not sure about the two flow meters? I'm planning on running both pumps off the PA's...
PRO will be on LC.
Thanks
The PA2 standard and ultra can handle fans or a pump, a temp sensor, a tacho out and a flow meter.
you should be fine with the pro + 2 PA 2's. You should go with standard btw. The only reason to go with the ultra is if you are using the PA2's standalone w/out an aquaero and you want to temp control outputs.
I don't think I was very clear. Can one PA 2 (standard) handle both a pump and a flow meter at once, or are they limited to a single connected device?
Good advice on the standard vs. the ultra. Thanks.
Yes. This is a rear view of the PA2 (standard). You can find the manual on the Aquacomputer website. Use Google to translate where necessary.

Thank you.
Tachosignal = tacho output
Durchflusssensor = Flow Sensor Input
Temperatursensor = Temp Sensor Input
Aquabus 1/2 = Aquabus 1/2
Leistungsausgang = Fan or Pump Output
Stromversorgung = 12v Power Input
Here is a picyure of the Aquaero5 acting as an equalizer using WinAMP, LCDHype and the plugin from Aquacomputer. If anyone is interested I can write up
instructions. There is a set floating around but the miss many things.
Attachment 124807
Enjoy,
John
jcrouse have you wrote the script yourself or just used the one on Internet?
Anyway, do write instructions.
I used the one onthe Internet. There are a few things i haven't figured out yet as for the automation part, like when I launch LCDHype automatically using the startup group, how do i start my script. Also, how do I start the Winamp Plug-in Automatically. Anywyas, we can get that part together. I've been busy finishing my build and haven't even looked yet. The LCDHype forum does look pretty good.
more to follow ...
John
That's awesome..love the spectrum analyzer..:D
Has anyone spliced two two of the RGB LED modules together and run them off of one PRO or XT LED connection? Can it handle it?
Thanks.
This is a brief tutorial for setting up the Aquaero 5 XT as an equalizer using Winamp and LCDHype.
Files you will need:
Winamp (full version) - http://www.winamp.com/
LCDHype (latest version) - http://lcdhype.condense.de/
Aquaero LCDHype Plugin - http://forum.aquacomputer.de/berwach...das-aquaero-5/
Instructions:
Install Winamp.
Install LCDHype.
Winamp Setup:
Copy the Winamp folder fron C:\Program Files (x86)\LCDHype\stuff to C:\Program Files (x86)\Winamp\Plugins.
Attachment 124849
Copy the file vis_waspec.dll from C:\Program Files (x86)\Winamp\Plugins\winamp to C:\Program Files (x86)\Winamp\Plugins (essentially moving the file “up” one folder level).
Attachment 124850
Start Winamp and click on the wavy icon on the top left corner, select vizualization and select plugin. Pick data collector.
Attachment 124851
Now we need to create a playlist in Winamp, set it to run in the notification area and start automatically.
Again, select the wavy icon in the upper left hand corner.
Select Options
Select Preferences
Select General Preferences
Under Show Winamp in:, select Notification area
In the left hand menu, select File Types
Make sure “M3U” is highlighted (this is the extension for playlists).
Select Close
Now, let’s create a Winamp playlist
With the focus on Winamp, press ALT-E on the keyboard
You should see this …
Attachment 124852
Select ADD
Select ADD DIR
Select the folder containing your music
It will read all the song in.
Select List OPTS
Select SAVE LIST
Save the list to a known spot on your hard drive. I recommend the Music folder where the songs were.
Create a shortcut in the startup group for the file you just saved. It will have an M3U extension.
This is a Windows thing and is up to you to figure out how.
LCDHype Setup:
Extract the file aquaerolcdhype to an empty folder. Copy the Aquaero folder from this folder to the C:\Program Files (x86)\LCDHype\controller folder.
Attachment 124853
Launch LCDHype.
Click on Configuration
Click on LCD Configuration
Click on the “+” sign and select the Aquaero 5 from the list
Attachment 124854
Click on Common Configuration
Place an “X” in Start script automatically after application startup
Place an “X” in Minimize application on startup
Remove the “X” from Show splash screen
Click on Scripting
Paste the following code into the scripting box
CODE (start copy at the beginning of the next line of text)
%Graph.Font('FixedSys', 9, 1)
/%Graph.SetTextArea(0, 0, 255, 63)/
#Header
%Param.RenderMode(Simple)
%Param.FastWrite(1)
#EndHeader
#TextMode
#EndTextMode
#GfxMode
%LCD.Gfx_SetOverlayMode()
%WinAmp.SpecAnalyzer(FFT, PeakedBars, 255, 63, 50, 5, 0.5, 2, 1, 0, 0)
/'Time -> ' %System.GetDateTime('hh:nn:ss')/
/%Graph.Rect(50,20,200,50,1,1) /
#EndGfxMode
CODE (stop copy at the end of the previous line of text)
Click the X in the upper right hand corner to close LCDHype
When asked to save the script changes, select OK
When asked to close the application, select Yes
Create a shortcut in the startup group for the LCDHype program. Left click the shortcut, select Properties and set Run to “Minimized”.
This is a Windows thing and is up to you to figure out how.
Now in Aquasuite 2012 you need to add the LCD USB screen to your list of screens that show on the Aquaero 5 LCD. After adding it, check the permanent box for testing.
After that, go through your menus and select the Winamp Playlist shortcut icon from the Startup folder. (make sure music is playing).
Go back to the startup folder and select the LCDHype shortcut.
The equalizer should now be working on the Aquaero 5.
Enjoy,
John
Hello everyone!
I'm also having bad experience with the buttons beeing too sensitive, the only way to make it work is to completely remove the front plate! I think that If I could make some more "room" the buttons will work just fine but don't know what to use really...
Any tips? :(
Anyone know where I can order the relay plug in the US? Thanks.
Can a D5 pump be controlled with a Poweradjust2 USB Ultra(in conjunction with AQ5LT)?
I am thinking of changing my DDC 18W to an Alphacool VPP655 with an aftermarket top. But do these come with a RPM signal line?
I want the AQ5LT to monitor the RPM of the pump but I can't seem to find if Alphacool VPP655 has got a RPM wire or not!
Yes, a D5 can be controlled with a PA 2. You don't need an Ultra either, the standard works just fine.
The Koolance PMP 450 is the only D5 derivative I know of that comes with a rpm sensor.
Thank you!
So I take it that you don't necessarily need a RPM signal to control the D5 via PA2!
pump rpm imho is usable in that sense, that it can be used as surrogate leak detector sensor in absence of flowmeter / pump failure detector, both if you configure for box to shutdown if pump's tach wire goes to motherboard fan header or via aquaero.
cmdprompt: BTW, sidewinder also sells premoded swiftech's pumps with tach sensor wire soldered on.
They all are actually made by Laing, and yes, same main "guts", motor, impeller, stuff like that. Only differences are - since some time presoldered tach wire for varios for ones sold by Koolance, motor&impeller only set without top by alphacool. On rare ocasions also different tops (eg. some set with preinstalled bitspower kit or a bit modded stock top (like G1/4 thread cuts)), but it's more commonly seen for DDC clones, not D5 family. You can also solder tach wire to D5 Vario by yourself, if ever wish to.
I am going to try to stick with my DDC 18W and connect it to a PA2 ultra and a AC flow meter to see how it performs!
From Martins Excel work sheet - comparing the DDC and a D5 gives me less flow with a D5!
Also in another note - I know using "software sensor Tool" you can get external Temperature data to Aquasuite Software. But is there a way to get the Aquasuite Readings(temp/RPM etc) to an external application like Rainmeter? or a windows gadget?
@jcrouse
Thanks for winamp instructions, worked a treat!
cmdprompt: seems that you can add 3rd option. Stumbled upon top-less D5 Vario (judging by it having speed controller) with presoldered tacho wire in aquacomputer's variation for AMS (seen also @ppc-s).
@ Shoggy
How bout a quick tutorial on the Power Management Overview Page. I can add three sensors, them being a flow sensor and two temp sensors. But, how does the math work. Does it take something from the flow sensor, like volume per time and then tehe difference between the two temp sensor? For the sensors, should water temp or ambient come first, or should i use two different temp sensors.
.. or am I missing the point completely?
Thanks,
John
I am using Open Hardware Monmnitor and pulling in the CPU Package Temp to a Virtual Temp Sensor. I am then displaying it in a Graph on my System Overview Page. You can see the pic. I am wondering if anyone can explain why the temp jumps so much. This is an i7-2600 (standard clock) at idle.

Hello Guys,
Time to get rid of the (unsupported in Win 2008 Server R2) Koolance TMS 200 - sad, as it's such a nice bit of hardware, but let down by a lack of software=-support from the boyz over at Koolance.
Anyway, 2 quick questions, as I have not found a clear answer on this:
1) Will Aquasuite run in Windows Server 2008 R2 - anyone doing it currently?
2) Does the current firmwaresupport the LT in slave-mode yet - it will be cheaper and better to run 2x LT's, vs LT+ 2x PA's. I know Shoggy mentioned over a year ago this feature will come, but is it here yet?
Appreciate your feedback!
Bumpety....
Why donīt you send a mail to info@aqua-computer.de ? Shoggy-Sven might be on holidays or elsewhere ...
scamps: just that answers to those questions might be interesting to other users here as well :), but your guesses are very possible as well. We sometimes forget that vendor people on other side of net are humans with real life too :D
Heya Scamps,
Idea posting in the forum was in the off-side change one of the Boyz here have tried what I was asking.....so yeah, not directly aimed at Shoggy et al, but, in case he sees it, all good :)
It's just I don't want to spent monies on a 3rd soltuion, which might turn out as half-baked as the other 2, with very little to no support. In that case, I could rather do my own - time is my only concern.
So yeah, hopefully one of our members, or Shoggy/Sven will give feedback as to whether this is supported on Windows Server 2008 R2, and secondly, if the LT is supported in slave-mode yet. After all, been more than a year since it was alluded that slave-mode will be supported in the future, so I guess this is the future....
Should work since Server 2008 (NT 6.0) has the same base as Vista (NT 6.0) and 7 (NT 6.1) but we can not promise it.
The slave function for the LT variant is on the to-do-list but I have no date for it. Very likely that this will take several weeks.
Thanx Shoggy, I will skip then until MASTER->SLAVE functionality is implemented - this will be a superior solution as opposed to 1x AE5 wit several PA's.
For the time being, I will run a small Axiomtech pico-itx interface to the Koolance TMS-200, and display on a small 7" LCD.
Look forward to your team implementing the code to accomplish M/S mode. Please keep us posted.
Do you need a Poweradjust 2 to control a Swiftech MCP35X2? Or can you connect it to a fan channel on the Aquaero 5?
That will not work on a single channel. I do not know if this pump has a single power connector or two. If it has two, connect them to channel 1 or 2 + 3 or 4 but not to 1+2 or 3+4 since they share the same temperature sensor and you would always run into the overheat protection.
That's why I'm asking because they are PWM controlled. So there isn't any advantage of using a Poweradjust 2?
The PA2 is only useful if you choose to run the pumps without PWM. I've used it to regulate the standard version MCP355 pumps.
We have all heard this often, for over a year. While I am not complaining and quite happy with my device, it would be nice to know where it's headed nd what some of the future capabilities and feature set will be (what;s being added). Is there any chance of seeing this "list" we soooooo often hear about?
Thanks,
John
That list is available in our forum since more than a year. The only points left are:
- log data and analyzer
- profile management
- transmit infrared commands
- language editor (already working for our internal use but needs a normal user interface when public)
- network remote control
These are the basic things with the highest priority. Everything else like the slave control or the option to render diagrams etc. directly to the desktop were always only ideas without a specific date.
Is it possible to change the operating frequency of the 2 x PWM Channels? they currently run at 16kHz and i need something in the range of 1-2kHz.
No, that is not possible.
This thing is buggy as all hell but once it's working it's pretty nice.
http://images.thedigitalfoundry.com/...S2012_test.png
I have been using the aquaero 5 with Windows Server 2008 r2 for the last year or so. No issues the aquasuite software is fully functional. I also have the Koolance TMS 200 in another machine and am getting a bit tired of running their software in a Win 7 VM to adjust and check settings.
Shoggy is the mounting kit for the LT
http://shop.aquacomputer.de/product_...oducts_id=2749
The same as the one on the Pro, I managed to bend the mounting brackets and need some new ones.
Take a look at the current for "GPU Bottom Fans (x4)." It reads 0.34A. Four of the same fans are run on another PA2 and they report 0.19A. Nothing else is ran on either PA2 but four fans. Any idea why there would be such a discrepancy between the fan sets?
http://images.thedigitalfoundry.com/...dd_current.png
Thanks.
Thanx for the confirmation, and I feel your pain wrt the TMS-200 and 2008 R2 incompatibility. Problem with the AAE5 though is, I would like to have Master-slave support - it would make for a cleaner, and cheaper solution. Will get one for the Wife's mini-itx gaming box, but will not spent any further money on additional AA5 controllers until it can do m/s mode.
Yes, that should also work through the internet.
No, it is not the same. The LT kit uses the side brackets from the aquaero XT. They are a bit different.
Just add a not at the end of the order for the items #93812 and #93813. These are the left and right side brackets for the aquaero 5 PRO.
Excellent! Great service man thats why I keep coming back to Aquacomputer!
I have an AQ5LT unit that was working fine till today.
My case fans (4 x Arctic F12 fans) were not spinning so I had to see what it was.
I connected 3 of the same fans(F12) to all the headers except the one which says D5 pump(techo signal only) and the RPMs and Amps were very different on one of the headers.
Turns out that one of the fan headers("case fans") is getting lot of current(1.97A)!
All the headers are at 100%.
