Im seriously gonna cry if it doesnt come out on Monday. Ive been waiting to build my rig since the beginning of summer so I can game like crazy until school starts, but because of this god damned company Ill have about 4/5ths of a month to play instead of 2.

I can tell you right now that the retail price for an E6600 isn't going to be below $339 anywhere and you will be lucky to see ZZF at that price when they show in stock. The price will likely go up as soon as people start to order because everyone is going to hit them hard since that will be the lowest price point on the E6600. ClubIT also had them for $339 and i ordered one so it should ship Monday. Newegg will likely price quite a bit higher then $339 simply because all they have to do is show it in stock and slap whatever price they want on it and people will buy because it's Newegg.

I ordered a 6700 OEM from ClubIT (since it was in stock, showed 34 left when I ordered real early yesterday) with overnight shipping and it's already halfway across the country according to FedEx's tracking number. Unfortunately, it won't be here until monday though. They still have 14 left last I checked a couple minutes ago.

I'm giving Intel the benefit of the doubt until Monday on the quantity they have available. I think the biggest issue will be the 6600s and not necessarily because of Intel; it's because every message board/website out there talking about C2D is recommending the 6600 because it's the best price/performance.

I'll remember them for future purchases, as everything went smoothly. Then even delivered without requiring a signature as I requested. Here's the tracking info for my E6400 retail box I ordered...

Never do business with a company that does not have a customer service number. Bottom line, I don't care if they sell C2D for a $.025 because if something goes wrong you are stuck paying the the bill.

Did everyone that ordered a Conroe from Mwave get it yet? I ordered Weds night and it was on the door step Fri morning;) If I did not order the MSI mobo I would be testing it in the DS3 I have here in the box. However if the MSI does not work out I will use the DS3.

IMO it 's a very simple matter of very high demand and limited supply for now. Sure I would have liked to be able to order a E6400 from Newegg for $224 on the 27th and have it ship the same day but I'm a realist. I was impatient to get one so I paid $250 from ClubIT and had to wait until 8/5 for it to ship. I'm thrilled to get a dual core CPU for less than half of what AMD was charging for similar performance and less OC potential just a few weeks ago. I'm not complaining that I had to wait a few extra days for it.

By Intel trying to delay the release to 8/7 they are accomplishing the exact oposite. Giving time to prime the channel and get all the players at the starting gate at the same time. That minimizes price gouging.

Shees, no-one has any concept of HVM. New products are always a ramp vs. a step function. C2D is the fastest ramp in their history, however they have to supply the entire planet. Intel doesn't have some big switch they throw that magically transforms Pentiums into Conroes.

Way to take my utterly sarcastic post entirely out of context. Had you read my previous post and the post to I was replying, you would have understood that we are in agreement on this issue.

Agree. Yeah if you think about it, If you were a retailer and selling unauthorized prior to Aug 7th (with a demand to supply advantage artifically induced by intels mandate) would you sell cheaply? Hell no, they are breaking a rule with clear knowledge they have an edge against other retailers who are not breaking Intel's decree. Of course they will charge extra. Haha.

I just know the prices are going to return to baseline very quickly. You know extreme overclockers and first adopters are not exactly the majority in the CPU biz. I bet their is more than enough Conroes out there to supply this sliver of the entire market.

At the same time the neweggs and zzfs of the world are not catering to the oem market. Their prices reflect what the first adopter market will bear so I wouldn't expect to see prices go down soon if at all.

if your ocing with the 7600gt i would say 450watts there abouts or with 7900gt to make sure you have enough amps on the 12v line go with something like 500-550. If you future proof your system now by buying a high end psu. Down the line you wont have to buy another psu.

Just ordered my OCZ 700w psu and WD 150gb raptor from New Egg to catch the weekend free shipping deal/rebate. Then I ordered my Evga 7950gx2 from ZZF. Now i have to order everything else from Newegg when Conroe is available. If not, ZZF again.

an antec 380 should be ok without overclocking on the 7600, the 7900gt would realy be pushing it, thouhg with only 1 hard drive you might be ok.
