Could I possibly lessen the voltage requirement with a nice burn-in? Anybody got any tips for burning in?

Hey kenofstephen,

many times our posts are not responded to, its the nature of the medium we are communicatiing through. I think you should learn to be happy with what you have, wanting to hear good things from others is nice, but is this the reason you are posting here? Ofcourse 2.7Ghz @ 1.34v is nice, but if you want some real attention, then you going to have to show some monster overclk, thts just how XS is.

Thts not to say you wont ever get any comments with a 'good' chip, just dont be expecting this, because no-one likes to feel under pressure to give praise, and saying things like ,'I'll better stay away from here' could be seen as a way of putting pressure on forum members to pay you some attention

Be happy with your chip, its a good one, maybe not amazing, but good is still good. If you want it to be better than good, then you are going to have to show some scrennies at higher clocks. Amazing, well, there are not many chips like tht abt, but there a few, Clint's, VPMW is amazing over 2.9Ghz on default voltage, now tht chip will get more attention than a hooker on the game, hehehehe

I have a freaky 165 :stick:

Under Kayl's frozen SS. My first phase and that was just benching at his last night to tune, will push for more with some pi scores and stuff tonight :)

Strange, I've been priming for 2 hours 20 minutes, 2.75GHz 1.44v (1.475 in BIOS). Previously I would require slightly more to achieve this. Although I have upped my LDT, NB and VDIMM by 0.1v, but I'm sure this couldn'tve helped that much really, since extra vcore would get me 2.8 stable. But I'm not sure, anyone think the extra LDT/NB/VDIMM could've helped my vcore requirements? I don't really see how.

Yep the one and only Kayl :banana:

The very nice clock is cos of the very nice cooler, and luck with getting a chip with no cold bug (POSTs below -50C).

The clock wouldn't be possible without that 11x multiplier being unlocked. My board even with copper chipset cooler tops out at around 350HTT or below :slapass:

i know USA is very far away, but if you type, 'Ayia Napa' in google you will see tht a trip here would be very nice, I could then buy you a few

And hopefully by then, one of my friends who is studying as a cooling engineer, will have built his first extreme cooling machine (im going to have to introduce him to XS, im sure a few of the pics here will stir his imagination,hehehe)

lol sorry i ruined the surprise. Well screw 3.18, that was untweaked and stuff, if you put it on water with 1.6v and close everything and do the F5/F7 method of screenshotting you should get 3.3 Ghz shot out of it.

Interesting that you're from Greece as i've been reading Greek Mythology for a class and watching a documentory on Troy which takes the narrator all over Greece.

BTW, i want to be a cooling engineer as well! :)

Although the spoken language here is mainly Greek, Cyprus is actually an independant state, I am Greek(English)-Cypriot and Cyprus's main heritage is based on Greek culture.

Now thts just freaky, hehee, you studying to be a cooling engineer also, i guess we will be seeing some freaky machines some time in the future

I'm sorry to tell you that stepping is not one of those low volts beasts. Mine needs 1.55 to get 300x9 stable at ~50c with TT BT.

It scales really bad. With stock volts you can get around 2.55ghz, then it freaks and starts to ask for voltage. Even that, I run mine at 1.55v for 24/7 as I don't plan to have this cpu 3 years :slapass: :D

Same steping here(CCBWE 0551UPMW).. I'm at 1.504v (Speedfan reported, actual is most likely .03 or so higher.) and struggling for 2.76Ghz stable with watercooling. It looks like I may have to bump the voltage a tad more.

All in all, however, it's still not a "bad" chip per se, just isn't one of these great ones that absolute and the other guys got their hands on.

..this is in a semi chilled room, maybe 15 degrees...trying to simulate temps that I will see with a decent water setup...if you ( Absolute_0 ) sees 41 load I think this is a fair workingtemp to give somewhat valid indications.

Totally agree. Only I get jealous when I see everybody hitting 2.8+ with stock or 1.375v :D

But if you think from other perspective, I got a chip better than an FX-60 (1.025$ at the egg) for 262$ shipped to Spain :banana: :banana:

Sounds great!

Gonna be my first water setup..:p:

I'm gonna plug my "special" OS now and see if that will give me a few extra MHz...I have a feeling it will reward me with some 50MHz or so.
