rallyho, i'm sure you could get better temps if your set up was PUMP/RES >CPU>GPU >RAD
Very impressive build pwolfe!!!!!!
EDIT by shazza: Note - putting this comment here since there are a number of posts after this one. The loop order rallyho has is fine, unlikely to be any significant temp gains by changing the loop order.
I'm considering water cooling my system.
Any ideas on a water cooling kit for a noob?
As big as you can fit swiftech mcr rads, Scythe Gentle Typhoons as fans, Laing DDC 3.25 pump, XSPC reservoir with integrated pump top for DDC pump, Primochill Pro LRT tubing 3/8" ID 1/2" OD, Bitspower compression fittings for tubing of that size, two Swiftech MCW-80 universal gpu waterblocks +some unisink or minisinks for gpu mem, EK Supreme HF waterblock for cpu, MDPC sleeving.
And three more advises:
1)don't post such questions here or elsewhere where it's offtopic, but make new thread
2)specify more of your needs, like how silent setup you need, your budget, planned overclock, etc ..
3)start reading sticky threads/guides/FAQs & check worklogs of other builds.
out with the dragon, in with the LEO :)
internal midtower ftw :D still need to repaint the case but not sure when ill get the chance for it

Been building this system over the last 6 weeks. Just finished it off for the moment by adding the North bridge block. I would have gone full cover but the heat of the north bridge isnt a bottleneck for me. The CPU heat is the bottleneck. Cant really run it past 4.5Ghz 1.4v Vcore, 1.3v QPI without it going over 85C. Thats with a triple Feser Xchanger. I am in the tropics though.
Specs:
Core i7 980X. RIII Extreme. Dual XFX Black Edition 5970s. Dominator GT 2000Mhz. Soundblaster Extreme Gamer F1. Enermax Revolution 1250W. GSkill Falcon II SSD 128GB OS. 4TB Caviar Blacks 2TB RAID 0, 2TB Storage. Corsair Obsidian 800D. LG BluRay Writer.
Loop 1 CPU NB:
Swiftech MCP655 tachometer (Full Bitspower upgrade kit). Apogee XT. EK-NB Asus HP Plexi. Xchanger Triple with NFP12's. Zalman ZM-MFC3 Fan Controller.
Bitspower 80mm Res. 1x Koolance Filter & No Spill QD.
Loop 2: Crossfire 5970s.
Swiftech MCP655 adjustable (Full Bitspower upgrade kit). Quad Xchanger with NFP12's. Scythe Server Fan Controller. Koolance adjustable rad mount. EK Nickel-Acetyl 5970 Blocks. Bitspower 150mm Res. Koolance Flow Meter. 1x Koolance Filter. 3x Koolance No Spill QD's.
All Bitspower Fittings, besides the QD's. Bitspower Cold Cathodes: 1x 20cm blue. 1x 30cm blue. 1x 20cm UV. 1x 30cm UV.
Red LED Strip 20cm. Also I had to use a whole bunch of extention cables for the fans and the PSU. The rear fans on the Quad Xchanger go to the Scythe fan controller at the front of the case. I have also connected all the extra power to the RIII Extreme. There is two extra 4pin molex on the board for the PCI E. The cables for those were a little difficult to hide as they are badly placed. I havent done any mods to the case or anything else. I managed to fit it all in the way it is.
I think thats everything.
Here are a few pics of my newly water cooled WCG Crunching Monster :)

Looks good to me and the pics are crystal!
