Anuaja could you plz share your settings having trouble getting past 214Bclk.
OMG Last night I dreamed that I bought a swiftech cooling system for my RIIE!! Maybe I should do that!!
I want to run a W3540, however there seems to be an issue with this and the R2E.
From the Asus website, for some strange reason it seems Xeons are not supported by the R2E. According to their site, the only boards that support the W3540 are the P6T WS Professional, P6T6 WS Revolution and P6T7 WS SuperComputer.
Anyone running a Xeon have any input?
So can you control uclk and mem multipliers? People were expressing problems earlier in the thread, and were very happy when 1403 beta was released which allowed full control over Xeons.
I was hoping Asus would by now have non beta BIOSes giving full support for Xeons, but their website seems to indicate that they do not.
Great, what BIOS are you on?
Rampage II Extreme 1504 BIOS
1. Updated configuration table of OC Station.
2. Fixed Target DRAM Frequency incorrect for DDR3-1333 with non-extreme CPU when set
DRAM Frequency to auto in BIOS setup.
3. Supported display warning message when set CPU Voltage or QPI/DRAM Core Voltage
over 1.8V in TurboV.

Great thanks. Glad to hear the w3540 is fully supported by this bios.
I do prefer the R2E for a 24/7 system board, I didn't want to have to choose another board due to lack of full xeon support.
Yes, I installed it in compatabily mode (vista) and it then runs fine in Win 7.
Finally got my i7 920 D0 up and running and OC'd. Got it running at 4Ghz w/ HT on at 1.28v. Ran prime 95 a little under and hour with out a hiccup but I am planning to run prime again for a full 8-12 hour test and maybe a 24 hour test.
Love this mobo... so easy to OC with so many options!
Need a little help guys :)
My DVD burner (Samsung SH-S203D) is connected to the last port on ICH10R controller (SATA6), now it all works OK, but will only burn in PIO mode under Windows 7 RTM??
Controller is set to RAID mode as I have my non-member disk SSD on SATA1, and a RAID0 of 3 Seagate disks on SATA/2/3/4 and a caddy disk on SATA5.
I tried the burner on the JMicron port and it seems to work fine in DMA mode, but I don't want to use the JMicron controller whatsoever, one of the reasons being that it irritates me at boot up with that annoying message, but mostly because I'd just love it to work properly on the Intel controller.
Are we talking of maybe an incompatibilty between this burner and the Intel RAID controller for this drive, or is it so that on the RAII, one cant have any SATA optical device running in DMA mode when the controller is set to RAID in BIOS??
Any feedback appreciated :)
PS.
Tried all configuration of drivers, Intel chipset, no Intel chipset, Matrix Storage, no Matrix Storage etc. etc.
I'm not sure whether it's related. I had some weird stuff with my burner too when coming out of sleep mode. After I plugged it into the first SATA port all problems went away. It might be worth a shot.
Guys I have some more questions:
1) What Power Temp (cpu mosfet/PWM) temps are you getting on this board under linx / prime95 load with cpu clocks of 4.0 - 4.4GHz ?
2) What BCLK can be achieved without raising PCI-E freq?
3) If PCI-E freq is raised, do the lan NIC's disappear as with other boards? If they do, at what PCI-E freq does this occur?
4) Lastly, for anyone that has used the same CPU on both a Classified 760 and the R2E, did the R2E require a higher vcore to be stable at the same clock compared to the classified? Did the R2E require more Vtt (QPI) for the same ram clock compared to the Classified?
