same colorQuote:

The +12 is showing a whooping 12.35 under pc probe.
Speedstep won't work at all ...
Anyone seeing those "problems" ?
cheers
i run opposite colors, right in the center with dimms closest to each other. still dual channel. I think that as long as you have them in seperate sides you will be dual channel. Meaning one stick on each side of the gap, regardless of color.Quote:

Did it happen to anyone else and if yes how do i solve this?:confused:
yup thats what i found out too..... opp sides -> dual channel.Quote:

I had same prob with e6300 and Crucial Anv. mem. I tried different ram and same thing. It would only boot if I started playing around moving the ram from slot to slot. It would do this with any volts, settings, resets I tried. Sometimes it would magically boot again after appearing dead for hours.Quote:

I've had my system together for a few months now and for the mostpart it's been running great, however, I've been getting some BSOD's for the past few weeks. I ran Prime95 and it failed.
Since I'm running 2 sticks I pulled out one and tested the other and it did not cause Prime95 to fail.
Shutdown and pulled out the supposedly good stick, and put in the remaining one for testing. Once I did that my machine would not post. So I pulled that stick out and replaced it with the first one and powered up but my machine would still not post.
After perusing various support threads I went out and bought a cheap stick of DDR2 from CompUSA and now my machine posts and boots fine.
At this point I went into the BIOS and upped the memory voltage to 2.10, shutdown, and popped in a Crucial stick but my machine still won't post with either Crucial stick plugged in.
Unfortunately I have no other DDR2 compatible motherboard laying around to test my memory so I have no idea if my Crucial sticks are still functional or dead.
Any suggestions?
System used to run just fine, but then the cold boots started getting worse and it would frequently crash with 2 sticks of ram. I would take one out seeming that it was a bad stick and it would boot with both installed. But if I then moved the supposed good stick to any other slot the system would fail to boot until I replace the supposed good ram with the other bad stick.
I used 804 and tried the 910 with no luck. I am currently waiting for New Egg to ship me my replacement board. I hope this fixes this.
I have heard of cold boot and other problems, but this was just plain STRANGE! :eek:
OK, I have my memory filled in both YELLOW slots, is this OK?Quote:

It won't fry it. It will actually prolong the chips life-Less volts=less heat=Longer life. Also Asus probably wouldn't do anything about it.Quote:

They fixed the slow boot for me and the crackling. Also windows tasks seem to run a lot faster(like surfing the control panel).Quote:

so latest drivers solve the sound problem? that's good.
Lets talk about a serious problem here. How about that dam northbridge heatsink? It keeps on overheating and costs me stability. You guys think an IceberQ would do the trick?
Have you tried just lapping the damn thing and putting it back with some AS5 or Ceramique ? Worked for me, but I also have a cooler that really blows some air all around, SI-128 with a Nexus 120mm fan.
Well if your problem is more important then, have you tried placing a 40mm fan over it? Also try removing all the thermal glue and replacing it with AS5.Quote:

Is is hard to take to heatpipe off so I can add some Artic Silver ?
Btw, anyone had problems fitting a Big Typhoon or a Zalman CNPS 9500 ?
I'm thinking in getting one of those, but don't know which one fits best.
TTBT fits perfectly.Quote:

The 9500 looks only nice but the Typhoon do his job better.
My Zalman 9700 is overkill. It even covers the northbridge which is why i havent modded the heatsink with a fan yet. This is why iv been thinking about a nice low profile cooler such as a Vantec IceberQ with some AS5. Also from what hear the heatpipe is useless so if I do get my IceberQ can i remove the stock northbridge heatsink and tear off the heat pipe?
Hello everybody,
i've got a problem with my Asus P5B Deluxe + Pentium D 945.
Here are my Specs:
* Processor: Pentium D 945
* Bios Revision: 0804
* Memory: G.Skill 6400CL4D-2GBJS
* Configured Voltages: 1,4750v (vCore), 2,4V (vMem) ; everything else at stock
* Configured FSB: 265
* Configured Ratio: 17
* Configured Memory Timings: 4-4-4-8
* Any other applicable configuration modifications: -
Now to my prob...
I can't go over FSB 265.
If i set the fsb to 266 my board won't boot...
I tried: more vCore, different divisors, different timings , but nothing helped...
Is there any solution for my problem?
Sorry if you discussed this theme already..
Best Regards
Dennis
PS: Sorry for my bad english... :)

Hey,
thanks for your quick answer :)
My cpu runs dual prime -, benchmark - and gamestable...
1mhz more on the fsb should boot...either its unstable, but it should boot...
I raised the vCore to 1.55v in the Bios without another result...
Maybe its a kind of FSB Wall like someone else had in the thread " Hit a wall at 333fsb conroe @ 3.0ghz..any ideas? "with his conroe @ FSB 333...
Best Regards
Dennis
PS: Sorry for my bad english =)
Edit: I can't lower my multiplier in the bios...
