I'm just an end user like you lot, only thing I can do is to pass to the Asus guys :D
Let's hope they can replicate it too and fix it somehow... Thanks to Bassplayer for persuading me to test it :)

Out of curiousity. What's the latest revision of this board? I just received mine from newegg, and what I believe is the version number on the board, mine says 1.04G. Is that the correct version of the board?
lol! My bad... Thanks for the 411 on that subject mater. :)
Not a problem :)
A bit of advice for you, if you don't want to waste time removing the board in the future, remove the factory heatsink that covers the mosfets, northbridge, and southbridge and replace the TIM. Trust me you'll be glad you did it. Without doing so your temps may reach 100C causing automatic system shut down  . You'll find countless threads on the matter if you google it.
Now that I'm using Shin-Etsu G751 my board chills at 42C/45C ICH/IOH :D
As do I, Ace. As do I!
A bit more testing to do and we're working with the Asus guys at the moment.
Thomas try to boot from ya fav setting from the bios plz... I had a low score at 227 ( set via turboV ), now I booted from the bios and the score is good... I wonder if it's turboV that messes up something in the bios when eg jumping too fast... Bed time though now

Bad score , note the 228 in CPU-Z and 227 set in turboV. This program mostly jumps, it's hard to adjust 1 clock at a time ( does the same here for my AMD setups )
Boot from bios was successfull, 3 runs in a row...

No screens as I'm running late, but booting with 225 seems to have worked. I didn't have time to watch the run finish as I'm in hurry, but it wasn't stuttering. This is an interesting new development. The problem could be in how Asus sets the BCLK through software. I've not seen this happen with other software overclocking utilities.
Bad news. I just saw the score and it got 22.3K. While this is much better than the others runs over 4.0 QPI, it's still much worse (3K) than the runs with it under 4.0.
The processor was at 3.8 instead of 4.0, but the graphics scores are about 2000 less than they should be.
I also opened CPU-Z just now and the frequency is jumping all over the place like it did when I set it via ROG connect. I was really hoping ROG connect was the only issue :(
Is the frequency read out jumping all over or defaulting to stock speed?
weird :banana::banana::banana::shrug: I don't have that problem with mine, I just can not find stability with this setup whereas my UD7 was so easy and simple, guess I will have to just wait until there are some cheaper 32nm quads and hex cores for this board as it seems to clock those very well.
Yes, i started to, but got late...
The template is missing somthing too?
I guess it's made for other bios versions...
maybe i will update the template and fill in my own today...

It this what you looking for: new template ;)
There were some changes since 0009, and there are some options in 0878 which were available only in that one.
Just downloaded the rog iPhone app to overclock via Bluetooth. I haven't tried it yet, anyone find it's actually more convenient? I can see it being slightly cool but that's about it... Ah well it's just another feature isn't it
nevermind found it hmm it was added on itunes on the 9th of september ROG idirect
finally lol.. can monitor my computer remotely from ip address.
