few more tests with orthos:

E8400 - 9x478FSB @ 4300mhz 1,40v full

for 4,4ghz he needs 1,45v to be full stable.

what is the exact batch nr ? Q806XXX I'm getting me 2 on friday hope to avoid this batch...

I'm at 4ghz. Everest shows 1.42v and CPU-Z shows 1.344. Which one is correct =/

VCore bios setting - 1.37500
Everest - 1.42
CPU-Z - 1.344

Motherboard = Striker II Extreme

I'm inclined to suspect that it's the CPU-Z reading, given that vdroop is a lot more common than v-"rise" :D

But I'm not an expert on that!

water cooling
for 4Ghz, Vcore 1.875 in BIOS(1.232 in windows), 1.2 FSB termination and 1.35 northbridge.
for 595FSB, Vcore AUTO in BIOS(1.496 in windows), 1.45 FSB termination and 1.8 northbridge.

Is that a typo or does your vCore droop from 1.875v in BIOS to 1.232v in windows @ 4GHz?

striker mobos report vcore wrongly for cpuz

my e8400 was confirmed stable at 4ghz with two other boards at 1.28v
for striker formula
set voltage 1.36v..
with loadline enabled
asus probe on load also shows 1.36v

cpuz reading 1.28v..

so no idea..

I bought mine on April 7. The more recent ones don't seem to be clocking as high. They require more voltage. I'm not gonna give mine any more voltage until I'm ready to replace it.

well, crap chip is a bit extreme ... its the oc bug going trough us that want to see an actual 4ghz .. but oh well ... 3.6 ghz is more than I enough I suppose

Changed back to the E8400 last night from Q6600. I was 4050 450 x 9 @ 1.29 bios, played COH but failed prime fast (few minutes).

Now 1.30 load (can't remember what it is in BIOS @ the office now) and stable. On my 780i this chip benched @ 4.5 but with way more core.

Volts above line cal enabled, sb, sb 1.5 auto, core 1.31, vFSB 1.36, NB 1.55, strap auto, ddr 2.3 900MHz (dominators default 2.2 @ 1066 so I keep it set @ 2.2 in bios, MB over volts it .1, so I don't get a hang det ddr).

I'll start pushing it tonight and hope to see 4.5 - 4.6 @ 1.4 to 1.5. Thanks!
