Hi friends
I hope to get the new MB's x79 chipsets, cause my 48bt2 is working good at this time.
well, it'll time to change for a good new MB as expected.

Hi Paty, are you from Spain? Your links are in Spanish.
X79 seemed good to me too but now I see it a bit rushed out, with the mixed PCIe 3.0 and PCIe 2.0 support (I know it's for different tasks), lack of USB 3.0 (which will be on Panther Point, so why not here).
It's not that I feel the need for any of it, but it seems to me that they could have supported it already, and I hate going for stuff that feels incomplete.

BITS 400 out. Intel is still on 372, as usual updates are something Intel finds it difficult to keep up with.
DX58SO BIOS 5561.
ME driver update for 6 series.
-
Obrigado Manuel :)
Are you also playing the waiting game for SKT 2011 too?
John
-
Hey John, you speak Portuguese?! Cool.
Well, I've been waiting for it for a "while" now, it seems I've been waiting forever. Still, now I'm not so sure anymore.
Newsflash: Intel's board will be (is) called DX79SI Siler. Features USB 3.0 (probably NEC/Renesas controller, last time I read no USB native support on X79), SLI, CF, 4 channel DDR3, dual LAN, OC of course.
Is it also on your wish list?
-
I wonder how they stuffed 8 mem slots on the board. Can't wait to see it!

News about X79 MB's
Dear friends:
This could be not impressive but the sky is the limit
http://www.fudzilla.com/motherboard/...board-is-siler
http://www.fudzilla.com/processors/i...ridge-pentiums
Well, this is the world of the near future from Intel:welcome::welcome::welcome:

Paty
That's where I got the info on Siler as well. Fuad seems to have access to info earlier than others.
Still, it was kinda let down for me. Guess I'll pass and wait for 22nm Ivy Bridge-E later on (if ever) and maybe X79-E or X89, when I ditch my BT it will have to be something will all the bells and whistles, not some half baked product. Maybe the specs will change still, not quite convinced though.
Have to wait for Computex to see the board in it's full glory.
The successor to Ivy Bridge, Haswell, is already slated for 2013, still on 22nm - in line with tick-tock startegy.
-
Hi friends
You said, i think it could be a microprocessor in the not distance future: but
take a look of this info;
Larrabee · Haswell / Broadwell · Skylake / Skymont
This will be the cpu's into next year i think.
Yours.:welcome::welcome::welcome:
-
Have you heard from Larrabee yet? Intel has been silent regarding this one, last time I heard about it changes were expected.
Next year will start off with Ivy Bridge, only March/April I beieve. The rst of the pack will come maybe in 2013 and later. Intel feels no need to introduce them earlier so far.
BITS 400 finally out o Intel.
Series 275 drivers (275.33 WHQL) from nVidia.

Friends
This is the best i hear about the new bridge:
http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2384909,00.asp
I think this will be rebuild to meet the q4 technology, i guess.

Yes, Intel had already confirmed this Tri-Gate tech (3D transistors) to be used in Ivy. They've ben working on this tech for a few years now, and finally it's ready.
Several X79 boards are being shown at Computex. The pairs of mem slots on each side of the proc look cool. No sign of Siler though. I'm curious to see it.
Asus went back to the brown PCBs. Ugly as hell!
Too bad USB 3.0 isn't supported in X79, PCIe 3.0 would have been nice too (although not really necessary right now, but if you want your board to last a few years...), PCI could have been dumped already as well. When all of these issues are ironed out, then it's time for me to go for it. Call me picky!!
-
Dear friends
This could be to better understand the Intel Policy toward new best products next year, I'll expect all the expertise from Intel Engineering group.

Paty, I was just reading that too.
12 X79 boards at Computex but still no Siler form Intel. Let down!!
Windows 8 also on display, can't say I like the Windows Phone 7 look. It seems the desktop version will also be tile based, but with the "normal" UI available as well I believe.
-
Friends
What about news on mainboards at Computex Taipei.
we have news on Core i7 CPU's or is to early cause the Intel engineering Group is working for volts better usage, i said minimun volts will be required to use on Intel CPU's?
Thanks.:welcome::welcome::welcome:

Unfortunatelly there were no Intel boards on display (that I know of at least) at Computex this year, Siler was something I would have liked to see. But there were a lot of boards based on X79 from other manufacturers. Also, new AMD platforms. They're also showcasing the new FX procs at E3, a comeback for AMD.
Also, Thunderbolt is on the rise, guess USB 3.0 could loose it's momentum, or maybe not! TB is still an add on.
Samsung released 32GB mem modules, only for servers now, but imagine soon enough having a load of mem in your desktop. Not that everyone needs it!!
MS seems to be pushing really hard their new Windows 8, a new demo at BUILD in September is shedule already. Man, call me old but I'm still not into the tile bsed UI of smart phones for the desktop. Good thing you can still use the od schol UI in 8, maybe I'll get used to it later on. Funny, apps for Win 8 will be based on HTML5 and JavaScript, like web apps. Just to think that in the past MS completelly ditched Java (for known reasons). OK, it's JavaScript, and it's widely used on the web sphere.
Apple is also coming up with Lion in July, with a lot of the same things, it's getting iPhoneish too. It's a trend now.
New consoles are also bein presented, PS Vita and Wii U
-
Wow, new look!
Intel is now enabling Virtu in their DH67 boards.
Funny how they have to use 3rd party software for this, although they put money there as far as I know.
-
MS was supposed to release several (as many as 34 patches, 16 security bulletins) fixes for their OSes and apps. Not here yet.
Well, they just arrived via Update just now. Windows, NET framework, SilverLight, IE9, VC++ - you name it. It's patching time!
-
Not saying these are bogus updates, they shouldn't be, but once you click on More Information they all come up "We are sorry, the page you requested cannot be found" or something.
Only the Junk Mail and Malicious Software Removal Tool have descriptions. Rushed out updates?!
-
hey can someone post their reference voltages? I started messing with this board again, and every time i raise the mch ref i get about 10 MHz more in host clock, just wondering how high I should go, and where other ppl are at. thanks!

News from the Intel camp regarding DX79SI Siler and DX79TO Thorsby:
Quad channel memory with 8 slots
Intel has spilled the beans on two boards that are scheduled to launch along with Sandy Bridge E, Intel’s future performance processor.
We have already mentioned that Sandy Bridge E can end up with 3.6GHz clock that gets to 3.9GHz with the help of Turbo and the boards for it will naturally support and endorse overclocking. The top board will end up with DX70SI name and its currently being developed under the Siler codename. The board comes with LGA 2011 also known as Socket R support and it has two graphics card PCI 16X slots. Don't worry the board supports both Crossfire and SLI.
The board comes in ATX, of course and not in the already deceased BTX format. It comes with USB 3.0, Dual LAN, RAID and 8 DIMM slots. The runner up board is codenamed Thorsby and will launch under DX79TO (TO as in Thorsby, SI as in Siler ed.) and promises to be slightly different than Siler. It also has 2x16X PCIe slots for both Crossfire and SLI, 8 DIMM slots, Overclocking support, RAID and USB 3.0. It is no surprise that it comes in ATX format. The main difference in these thin specs we've seen is the TPM support, and to our best knowledge this should be the trusted platform module support, something that only a few ultra rich gamers, a key target audience might need.
Thanx Fud.
Find it hard to believe that the only difference is TPM, but it's supposed to be Intel's info. Maybe it's the worstation model, and the one without TPM is the enthusiast model, and they're otherwise identical. That makes sense since X79 is a WS class chipset anyway.

Paty, great info there.
Adds to the confusion though. Will Siler be 1366 or 2011? For one, I don't see Intel going 1366 again, no interest there I believe. On the other end, the fact is that Asus did show the Danshui Bay concept mobo that could hint such capability as to X79 supporting both 1366 and 2011 socket processors. Maybe!!
Still, what's the point?! Only if you want to keep your Gulftown proc but you miss all (most) the new good stuff.
Let's wait and see.
If that roadmap is for real, they're both 2011. I believe one will be no compromise, the other less features (PCIe 3.0 lanes, USB 3.0, GbE ports, maybe mem slots).

Hi friends
This is Intel X79 MB's info from computex for you.
http://www.anandtech.com/Gallery/Album/1117
So quickly, this will be a good step to change my MB Intel for another MB intel with chipset X79
and , of course, a new Intel CPU 2011.
Sandy Bridge E, I will go on you in the closer future.Yeah
:up::up::up:

Those I had seen already, but I was hoping to see Intel's own Siler, or Thorsby.
Intel isn't showing it though.
I'm kinda itching to see it, although I believe I'll wait for the next refresh, if the known specs are confirmed.
