Isn't fully stable at 3, getting too hot for air... pretty happy at 2.95 with 1.40 volts tho

Dude for the last time, i didn't order THIS one from monarch. I got it from an online seller, boxed.
Dang, thats a good chip!Quote:

...or stick to 1:1 against my XP4000 sticks @ 270-280MHz...on nice lowish volts :D

That's my 165...Quote:

cpu-z says 170 but I take your word for it...
Check this out, might be useful now when chasing those high numbers on that 170'er:

there are two different CPU's...the one on the photo is a 165...and the latest posted is a 170...Quote:

That says OSA165 on it.
I have 2 of these chips... actually i have a total of 3 CCB1E 0550VPMWs. Two 165s and a 170.
ok cool thought I was going nuts! :toast:
Jeeze, 2.95 with 1.4 and then takes a TON of volts to get core0 to do 3 Ghz
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...l/637e72ff.jpg
Temps suck, needs water.
I do it the hard way: open clockgen, start priming with priority 9 x2, then up HTT until prime crashes, then go down step by step :D.Quote:

Strangely my 165 CCBWE 0551 UPWM likes volts. I thought I had a very poor chip only doing 2610 or so with 1.4-1.425v, but I had'n tried high volts so yesterday I put 1.55 and voilá, 1h stable 304x9, which is not that bad. Temps close to 50c on load, but I'm not priming all day long so I will keep it that way until AS5 settles :slap: , then I will try to burn it to low volts. For 24/7 I will stay 289x9 with 1.375v or less if possible.
//EDIT: Using this PSU calculator http://www.extreme.outervision.com/index.jsp I'm sure it is my crappy PSU what stops me from getting more. Levicom 420w (no idea of rails/amperage) can't cope in any way with 509w on load :D
did a screenshot, took one at 3.33 but it didn't come out right

btw, do you install any specific drivers or such for the dual?
Still no errors at almost 12 hours :) Might be time to bump things up even further. Anybody like my new theme? :P

Can someone gimme the download link for the software that everyone using it for showing voltage, temps etc .. the one on the bottom - its MBM5??
Google for Motherboard Monitor 5...and then you either configurate it yourself or look for a configuration for your MB that someone has done and are sharing.Quote:

nice result for an 165! Can you get 2.8GHz stable to, maybe with 1.45V?Quote:

Then core0 messes up around 2.9 but scales alright until there.
Update on my 170, think i found the sweet spot
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...l/c04bce5c.jpg
What i have noticed with 165 and 170 CCB1E is that the scaling is horrendous.
170 for example can do this
2.85 1.31v
2.90 1.36v
2.95 1.4v
And then 3.0 needs like 1.48v to be stable... core0 keeps demanding voltage
Temps are a problem for me at 3 Ghz though as load was approaching 50c, anyone know just how temp-bound these dualies are? I'm fairly new to them...
