anybody notice on the newer bios' the memory copy performance has gone down while read write and latency got better?
No not noticed as I dont flash beta's incase I have any problems with the board and have to RMA it, they are not obliged to repair / change your board for you if you have a beta bios on it, however all i can say to the change in memory performance is "its about bloody time" cos mem performance on this board at the moment sucks, but i'll wait for the official release.
the memory performance of the board is not that bad, not as good as my maximus but still not bad at all. you just gotta know how to tweak it. the tref is set rather to a mild 3120T, bumping it up via memset to 14592T will reduce your latency and up your read. i would re-check your stability afterwards. plus figuring out what all the values for your memory is important because some settings can be tightened up as well. for example my ram sets my trtp to 7 however it can run it stably at 3. this gave me more read and lower latency as well.
Just for you ZenEffect, I can get the tRFC down to 48 and although its passed memtest at 48, it doesnt feel stable, I have a few strange going on's, my trtp is at 5, which the default is 8, cant seem to tighten that up anymore either, not too sure where I adjust the tREF in the bios but my mem timmings including subs have been pretty much tightened up to what they will do and what feels stable and what passes memtest to my satisfaction. My ram is rated 5-5-5-18 at 1150mhz but is doing 1128mhz at 5-5-5-15 (limited by CPU speed), might be able to get the 15 to 12, but to be honest im really not going to see that much of a performance boost for hours more of testing, is it really worth it.
its not so much the read that concerns me, its the write and the copy which are so far behind, infact so far behind they are almost at stock speeds of most other boards, my ASUS P5Q-e P45 used to run all 3 (read, write and copy) closer to the 10k mark, but I hated that board, moved to crossfire and brought a decent board.

Nice Praz, what RAM is that, please dont say OCZ Flex 2 as I noticed its running 1152mhz, if it is then tell me what im doing wrong, or if its got anything to do with the wolfie that your running ?
Those speeds you have there are more like what I was getting out of the ASUS board, just cant seem to find nor get them on this one, this is what im doing right now, and its definatly not good.
Yeah it's Flex 2. The settings are posted in the following link. Posts 11, 12 and 13.

praz good work man, this is faster than i was at 500x9 i think, gonan use this as a template when i get my new psu
Im still not even close to this with your setting set in the bios, I think somewhere, somehow, the CPu you dividers etc your using Praz play a big part in this, I remembered earlier that when I was scoring high on my P45, it was with an e8400 at 4.2ghz, but that eventually degraded and died on me, I might pick another up in a couple of days a put this too the test, cos I was forced to move back to my Q6600 which in fact feels slower than my E8400. :ROTF:
Thanks guys. I don't have any settings saved with a quad in the board. It's been so long I don't remember if the times were close to these or not.
Question for everyone.
I currently got 8GB DDR2-8000 (500FSB 1:1) stable, but with a NB of 1.65. Any recommendations to lower this, while keeping the system stable?
55c is were i drew the line with air cooling, with liquid its a bit harder since it stays cold as what to call max voltage, and depending on how hot the NB is running voltage can become counter productive
I am trying to get my PC stable with my Q6600 @ 3.6 (450 x 8), and ram @ 1128mhz 5-5-5-15-2T.
I bought this cpu 2nd hand because it can do 3.6ghz (450 x 8) @ 1.3375 vcore, 100.23% special add, vdroop: disabled; in a DFI X48 UT. I have had my ram at 1175mhz @ 5-5-5-15-2T before, but I have having problems getting them stable together.
With the current settings below, it will last 1 minute on OCCT before the PC locks up. The max temperature any CPU core reached was 63C. My chipset temps are fine. The AS5 still need time to cure and my water cooling loop still needs to settle, so I think temps will reduce over time.

popped up when I updated the bios to 08/29 and I have no idea what to set them at (I never changed them) and how they effect the overclock.
Please can you help, I would love to get my PC stable at these speeds!
@!TIMMY!: why do you need to set your Special Add? try disabling it...
Well you system is pretty much exactly the same as mine, except for the sound card and the optical drives etc, you main hardware is exactly the same, CPU, RAM, Mobo, and for that, so are you settings except, you CPU vcore, if your CPU can trully do 3.6ghz then I would be very supprised if it can do that on stock voltages, if it can do that on stock voltages then you pretty much have a 4ghz'er there, I would start by raising you vcore if you are getting lock-up's, something isnt getting enough.
Anyone know where I can grab the latest beta bios from as a Diamond Flash utility for the LT board ?
It seems they only have the standand bin file in the beta section.
