I'm using P35-DS3L. Which BIOS version should i use for overclocking?
Sorted out my cycle ON/OFF/ON/OFF problem.
It was the webcam. When it was connected it caused that behaviour.
Weird huh?
hey i got a p35 ds3r, was there ever a fix for the "bios resetting on reboot" problem?
I had a 965 S3 before this one and got this one free months ago and switched to it.. for a few months it was ok cuz i was running default but now its really annoying when booting up. I shoulda kept teh 965 S3 as there was no problems/differences in performance..
Would a pencil volt mod help with the rebooting issue?

What's the range for the FSB wall on a P35-DS3R?
And is there any point in getting the new BIOS?
Now is official and on the Gigabyte site
Any reason to get the new BIOS?
As per info:
1.Update CPU microcode(Wolfdale/Yorkfield) new E0-stepping
2.Fix S3 resume fail
3.Fix audio latency
Btw,waiting for new E8600 with E0 stepping
im using a ds3r and wondering if anyone is using a gtx260 and notice any problems. Just wondering since the board is pcix 1.0 while the card is a pcix 2.0.
They just released a New f11 bios *final* for p35c-ds3r. has anybody tried it out? reviews? new features? comments? overclock any better? ram voltage any better? did they fix the automatic fan control mode selection? did they fix anything? stability?
I'm not sure if this is the right thread, but I didn't see a more appropriate one.
The GA-EP35-DS3L just had the F5 bios released this month. It comes with a utility to flash from Windows, but it doesn't work on Vista 64-bit, so how would I flash to the new bios? I don't have a floppy drive. I want to do this because the F4 bios has a glitch with the voltages not sticking to any settings you pick.
is that the ga-p35-ds3r rev1.0??? i had that one and had to RMA it cause it wouldnt work with the E8400 cpu. i have the 2.0rev now and it works fine. temps are a little higher than others. i dont think these gigabyte boards are truely set up for the wolfdales...the P45 chipsets are out and i think they(gigabyte) has done a good job with them for the wolfdales.
revision 3.3? ive heard of 2.1 but not that one. night have to look into it
this is all assumeing you are talking about the DS3R board...lol
I guess I finally have to get myself a USB drive, I've managed to avoid it for years because I never really "needed" one. Any good guides on how to do the Qflash? I downloaded the .exe from Gigabyte that extracts an ep35ds3l.f5 file, as well as an autoexec.bat and FLASHPI.exe, but FLASHPI won't work in Vista 64.
What do I put on the USB key? the ep35ds3l.f5 file I assume.
Use the guide from Gigabyte....Search is your friend....;)

save the exe file you downloaded from Gigabyte on to your usb thumb drive. restart your pc and go into your mobo bios. follow that link I gave you on how to flash with QFlash. It's not difficult. :)
p.s. after you're done flashing the bios restart the pc and then go back into the bios and load fail safe settings and reboot pc.
Anybody have any experience with the overclocking/control software that Gigabyte uses if the temps are accurate or the overclocking feature works or not.
Just got my GA-P35-S3G going and wondering if i should monkey with it or not.
Here is a good link to a "Gigabyte X38/P35/P965 (DS* DQ* S3) Overclocking and General BIOS tweaking Guide" from Tweaktown: http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/giga...g-guide-26112/
I got a pile of good information when I bought my EP35-DS3R. Coming from ASUS, the Gigabyte BIOS was a bit confusing.
The bios seems pretty straightforward but i did try the auto settings and noticed my voltages set way too high i guess i wont be using that anymore.
Also i had problems with the bios resetting itself during bootup maybe there another bios i can use ?
Everything else seems to be working ok just too bad i could not afford a little better model im worried about the lack of heatsinks on this thing.
