My vpmw likes less voltage every day :toast:

This is the first chip that is folowing the rules of burning-in :D. At start the minimal voltage for 3GHz was 1.52V - now only 1.46V :woot:

Does anyone know how high HTT will an A8N32-SLI go? (in average, of course) I'm torn between A8N32-SLI and DFI Expert, and I need to get a board by the end of the week, which means I should order this morning (umm... like in 6 hours) so that I can do 2-day shipping by Friday.
What matters is OC-ability, and the OC-ability ONLY. :D I'm not interested in feature set or anything. Just better OC'ing and high HTT (my 165 needs more than 333 HTT). Since I'm on air, both boards supply sufficient Vcore, I guess. I've read A8N32 supports up to 1.6V for dual-core CPUs, which is more than enough for air-cooling. (or even water, probably)
If A8N32 can do 350+ HTT comfortably, I will probably go for it, since I like the 8-phase power and low noise. I've also heard with same vcore A8N32 will allow higher (albeit tiny) OC. It's also less picky on RAMs, etc.
But all the goods are no good if it can't guarantee 330+ HTT. In that case, I will go with the Expert.
Any input will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

@lopri
i tested mine to do 400htt - no problem wahtsoever .. and yes, max vcore for dual optys is 1.6, but i wouldn't go with mine over 1.55V ..
Thanks I was wondering just how much voltage to put through my opty during testing ;)Quote:

1. You have a 180 (9/10th divider) - USE IT! to get 10x multi :D
Start @ 10x275, get that working, then march up however far you can.
Only way to w/ deal temps - 'OFF WITH IT'S HEAD' etc. (Though I haven't had time to do my 'prep work' on this one yet )
Also check you vcore w/ DMM, mine = 1.4 @ bios = 1.35, so reset mine to 1.275x1.04 (works for me 1.33-1.36 under load DMM )
Running DC prime (large FFTs, use s&m 1.7.6 looping for FPU  ) @ 10x277 now; GBLA @ 2.67Vdimm.
After I got this one, my wife let me go try the Newegg lotto again to see if I can get another :buddies: :bounces:
More on this one after I have gotten a bit further in the testing/burnin curve.
(Oh spi was easy @ 10x300, but won't do much else, so not good enough for me since I use this for Rosetta )
Speaking of which:
ROSETTA HAS BEEN THE BEST STABILITY TEST/BURNIN TOOL for AMD DC. Go look in the rosetta forum and if you like what you see, XSTM would like to see you. PM any of our admins (see sig) and we can get you set RIGHT UP. :D

Hey man, mine's the same way.. I think it will do either 2808 or 2817 with 1.45v but 2850 seemed to need at least 1.55v. I didn't really test over 2800 much though as I'm fine with that..Quote:

just priming over night .. i have it for 3 days now, and it seams that over night sessions helped him to do same clock with less vcore .. as i said, this is my first chip that with days needs less voltage for same clock .. but dont forget, burning will not help achive higer oc, only less voltage for your max oc ..Quote:

Your mem will run @ 9/10th of your CPU HTT (180/200)
Example: If I run 9x300HTT (2700) w/ 180 divider, mem runs @ 270 FSB so 2700/270 = ?:hrhr:
Just try it and see, some CPU's may be picky
Oh and if FX-60 = 2.6 Ghz @ stock, what is 2.8Ghz @ stock (DMM measured 1.35) :D (Dual priming for 1.5 hrs so far, large FFTs 10x280 :bounces: )

Just ordered a proper dual core Opty rig :p:
2 x Opty 265s and an MSI K8N Master 2-FAR.
uwire mod should take it to 1.5vcore and it's got a fair amount of HTT adjustment from the BIOS, so should technically be able to take them to 2.7GHz. I just wonder how the cores differ from the 939 dual core Opties (other than the memory controller).
Anyway, greatly anticipating the bits, should be fun!
Nice One! Did they include the crinkly lizard-skin hand for free? :p:Quote:

Ok, I thought about a x10 multi in the processor :D. And yes, memory dividers appear and dissapear depending of the HTT x multi I set with my 165.Quote:

Im guessing clock it @ 1.3V as high as she will go
then burn in max stable speeds at 1.3?
I would like to know how u did it..
