s7e I have a file you should read. Its a design proposol to cool a ccd chip (evaporator). Its for a telescope but no difference between a ccd (digital camera chip) and a cpu. The head(polytiger/evaporator) with a poly cold will do 510 watts at -150c. It will give you guys some of the techinal dificulty of getting 150c. its a pdf file with pictures and design drawings. problem is its 705kb and the limit is 200kb.
Anyone know how I can post it without spliting it up.??????
try this link

The cooling head (coil) is mounted in a cryo vacuum chamber. they are pictured seperate and togeather. pricing is also included
make screenshot and post?
Here is some recent history of polycold, may help in searches of documents and designs..
It was sold to "intermagnetics" in 1997 and they sold it to "helix technology corp" in 2005

49.2 million  mabee this shouldn't be just a hobby :stick:
Hmmm...... I know that Cryo-tek has at least one of these Cryo-tigers at his home (he thinks he may have tossed the other one in the garbage  ). This would make for an interesting project :p:Quote:

so who is going to make an evap like that one wzdral posted?
subcooling right in the evap, pretty sweet idea imo
OK, I reread this document and I think there seems to be a bit of a mix-up here ;) After talking to Cry-tek about these "Cryo-tigers" and explaining to him that you had said that the unit was displacing 500W of heat, I was told that Polycold does actually make a unit capable of that......but it would require a PT-1100 (IIRC) Cryo-tiger which has a 10HP compressor  Turns out that these Cryo-tigers don't operate on "true" cascade technology, rather they work on principles more similar to suction line heat exchangers. The unit which is mentioned in the article is actually only capable of removing ~6W of heat @ -150C. The 500W figure is referring to the amount of heat the compressor is outputting. At least that's what I'm getting from this article. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong :toast:Quote:

it cools 5 to 7 watts to 95k which is -178C
you should be able to trade capacity for temperature.
just read the hole thread
what a great read thanks cryo
That would make one helluva chipset or gpu cooler :DQuote:

Cryo-Tek you are AMAZING.
Start testing Intel cpu's Stephen!!!

I knew that I saw something similar a long time ago, in a galaxy far away. :D
We need some old school single core action under that bad boy
LOL...FCG's sending me a nice load tester to test the unit with ;) -> an Intel 660 Pressy should do the trick ;)Quote:

Sheesh....I hope you know what you're doing  ;) Hmmmm...the guts of the auto aren't as pretty as I had imagined :p:
Give us a closer picture Cryo!! Maybe 10 more pictures. Please:D
Well It's all just a blur right now, but it seems to be growing valves there on the left in the foam.
If two heads are better than one, are three heads better than two?
You need to tell me when to stop:eek:
