Yes, but we are talking about the XFX 7900GT's, which reach higher memclockes than other 7900GT's.Quote:

yep , i was thinking in ppl who have 7900GTs not of XFX try to flash with XFX 7900GTs bios to get higher memory cloks , no???
woah
you can do that??
put 7900gtx bios on 7900gt only use half the onboard dram? (btw if you look at various reviews, teh 7900gt looses a lot of ground to 1800xt/7800gtx512/x1900/7900gtx in most benchmarks at 2048x1536 4aa/16af... 7900gt *only* 256mb, fine for all lower settings ofcourse ;)
I dont suppose any of you guys has splinter cell:chaos theorty and could do the default timedemo
That would work just fine with the "-4 -5 -6" command to force the flash.Quote:

545Mhz core
808Mhz memory
even 1 Mhz more on either will lock up any 3d program.
3DMark05 kicked out a 9538, I can live with that for now. It's still early on, but to me I can't honestly say that the XFX is the screaming deal. Especially if you can't tell which memory you are getting. Hopefully will get to see some others posting results with this card.
Off to read about this Samsung memory....maybe try the pencil mod for Vmem and see if this memory responds.
EDIT: Oh yeah using 83.91 Win64 driver.
Sweet, I have the highest single 7900GT score.... for a very very very short of timeQuote:

Good to know. Yours at "stock" faster then mine can go overclocked. Hmmm. I doubt they binned these but who knows. Maybe I'm the X factor :( LOLQuote:

Maybe 1.4ns and 1.1ns chips are made on same production line ? And those just felt through quality tests but aren`t that bad to be marked as 1.1 :D
just my guess

they are Samsung BJ14 , so its 14ns , very strange why they clok so high???
Strange. No BJ14 in Samsung website. But BJ is surely better series of GDDR3 chips. And as you see it has +0.2V on them. Can you guys check through BIOS what Vmem is on your cards ?
Oh found explanation

Looks like this lucky card has those old BJ14 onboard
Here is a nice teaser :)

Another lucky fellar with 1.8GHz mem
Dazog what memory is on your card ? And what manufacturer ?
This is what I was also talking about in the "Post your memory" thread. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...5&postcount=35Quote:

To me that means you would have fewer 512Mbit chips for 256MB cards then with the 256Mbit density 256MB cards? Can't be right...the pictures I have seen of BJ14 256MB cards have 8 chips same as any other GT
I just got in a BFG 7900gt OC.
Stock cooling (no air flow over mem either) yeilded 550x850. I do not know the mem manf or specs. I will be pulling the card tomorrow (hopefully), to install a waterblock and some better cooling for the ram and will check then.
Sadly my San Diego crapped out and so I'm using a ****y 3000+ Winny at 9x215 :brick: But still managed to reach 18.5k in 3dmark03 and 9k in 3dmark05. Gonna need to replace the cpu soon.
Btw, my coolbits maxes out at 819mhz on the mem...but I've seen others with GTs allowed higher with that app. Is there anyway to up the maximum value?
Use Rivatuner.
These 1.4 ns chips are just INSANE.
I'm sure everybody would be using Rivatuner - but, it doesn't support 7900's... yet.
Yeah, I think I concured that BJ14 or BJ11 are just bins from same production run. Re-thinking, I realize they can't be same chips. BJ11 are 512Mb, BJ14 are 256Mb (both GT and GTX have 8 chips each). I think the naming is just coincidence. Samsung probably made some "BJ14" early on, but since good yields, removed it from the list. Afterall, is anyone with 2.0V not hiting 1600 (800Mhz)?
EDIT: I'm out of luck on the pagecomputer PNY 7900GT = $270 deal.. OOS and cancel.
Ah, darn the new RT 15.9 isn't out yet.
These cards are incredible. I will try to break 11K with stock cooling and without any mods :D
I payed only 339 € from this performance.

This are just insane clocks:slobber: :woot:

try 84.20 and see ig you can get higher cloks , i had same problem with 83.90 but 84.12 and 84.20 its OK
btw: Codeman coolbites go Max to 900 , maybe you have a old version
EDIT: sory guys my fault i saw badly in dark last night the chips are BC14 not BJ14:
K4J55323QG-BC14
Haha :) After researching the BJ-14 on Samsung website and looking in your other thread about "7900GT clocks" I was zooming the picture of your card, and thinking that can't be a "J" but it was so blurry I couldn't be sure.Quote:

I'll search around for 84 drivers, maybe that will make the difference. Hopefully there is a x64 flavor.
yeh , i already said to you that 83.90 freezes and loks PC , and also when push the Test Clocks in coolbits its freezes and even when dont freezes the 3dmark 2005 dont run the image turn all black and freezes the PC and also only the drivers since 84.12 reads the temperature right, the others drivers read +- 10c than the real temp:
83.90 ----- 47c ( and freezes when change cloks )
84.12------ 37c (no problems)
84.20------- 37c ( no problems)
Its possible, the download said it was released in '04, however I have not found anything newer. You happen to know anywhere to get the latest?Quote:
