EDIT: what are your air temps at 2.85?
well it appears that anything over 279 with 200,183, or 166 divider does not work at any cpu multiplier or hypertransport setting. has anyone else run into this with the a8n32? i am on the 1009 bios and i am going to flash back to the 703 now and see if that makes a difference. it will boot to windows at 2790 @ 1.4v
Received mine over the weekend. Straight in 2.8ghz (see screenshot)

PWMIC temp never exceeded 45 Degrees throughout. But, if I'm priming @ 2.9ghz and take the voltage to 1.5v + PWMIC temps hit 74 by loop 15 !!! Something to do with the ampage going through the board me thinks. Damn shame really, even with a 80mm fan cooling the MOSFET, temps climb too high for my likings.
I also applied applied the WIN XP hotfix for dual core processors. Machine boots up and responds a bit quicker. Also applied a throttle registry tweak and agin, this seems to have helped alot too. Happy with 2.8ghz at 1.425v at the moment. I'm using Arctic Cooler 64
I alos have an DFI Expert coming next week, so hope to take the Opty further. Now its come out that these and the FX60 share the same core, I am a happy man.... :)
could someone email me the stupid superpi v1.4 zip file? the mirror site appears to be down at radeon.

I received my Zippy 700W on Monday to replace the PCP&C 510 SLI, the Zippy kicks butt and I love it!! Not sure if this has anything to do with it but I can now overclock with lower vcore. :slobber: The Gskill 2GB HZ also arrived today, haven't play around with it much but so far it's running 266 3D stable and rock solid, no longer getting stuck at stupid 100(1/2) divider, 133 also work now!! :D :D

It has everything to do with it.....but what's odd is that your psu is showing fluctuations on the rails. Mine barely budged at all, even on load - MAYBE .01-.02 at absolute max. Yours is showing different voltages during idle.....:confused:Quote:

Check this out: I'm priming at 3.25Ghz @1.55v now, Smartguardian and MBM gives me different voltage readings, all 12v, 3.3v, and 5v are off!! my DMM shows 12.08v and didn't move one bit when I took this screenshot, so I think the MBM is more accurate than the Smartguardian :D

Took this picture when the pc was idle, different 12v reading on smartguardian again :D :D

I have one on the way now as well! I so can't wait to clock it!
Oh boy.. im feeling the need to get one of these.. !

ok so i just plugged in the 0550, try it at 2.6@1.4v and it fails within a minute
do i need to reinstall anything? reflash my bios? or can i go from one processor to another of the same type?
more voltage!!
its running at 2.7@1.5v now
it fails prime within seconds, but i can run superpi and i can bench it (3dmark01, 3dmark03, aquamark 3
any clue?
It takes time. Thermal paste needs to set in, and you may nee to tweak your memory settings. these Opty are memory sensitive.
On a good note.... I now have AS Ceramique sitting on my 170 0550 UPMW and it's now priming @ 2.8Ghz w/ 1.44v!! I was usng AS5 before. I seem to get my best OC's using Ceramique.
core 1 fails within a minute running at 2.7@1.55.. ..
could it be possible that i'm putting too many volts in it? people say it likes low volts, but would it be possible that it is more stable @ under 1.5v than at over 1.5v?

no but like mine isnt even stable with 1.55v in bios @ 2700
what do you suggest?
Zippy is a beast! Where'd you get yours ben?:stick:
There is lots of possibilities, could be memory setting, could be bad heatsink mount or too much thermal compound (how hot is it running?), could be too much vcore? mine run best with just enough to get through.Quote:
