BTW, in case anyone is interested, I was first introduced to DC via a BBC program last February. Joined the BBC/CCE and cruched 24/7 for three months (daily backups,etc..). But in May when my third model started looping on itself and the backup failed to rescue it, I decided that I needed a change. CCE is a very difficult project and requires a 100% stable platform, and is definitly incompatible with 3D games (I have 3 kids who sometimes like to use my PC).
Anyway, to make a story short, started on Rosetta in May (solo). Visited many team sites. I was looking for a group of serious people who have their minds straight, don't waste their resources looking for ET, etc..., and who are civilised (Not many out there, I know - I looked quite hard). Was very impressed by this forum, however I felt that you guys are way beyond my league (I am an oldish engineer and no computer expert like you). So I was a bit reluctant.
But then I read about an incident that occured around early June that resulted in a wipe out (you know what) and I was extremely impressed by the honesty of the team members. That sealed my decision on the 11 of June, and I put in my humble PC in the service of this team to help it to recover.
Been cruching for XS since and regulary visiting the forum. The more I read, the more I am convinced I made the right choice. I waited a bit to accumulate some credit (I know, I am small fish) before introducing myself.
I am very honered to be part of your team.
Cheers,
PS: I never posted in a public forum before (except the BBC q&a boards). So if this post does not look pretty, please excuse my ignorance. Promise I will learn.
There is no such thing as a small fish here =) Welcome to the club, looks like you've been lurking around, glad you came out and said hello to us. Hope you enjoy crunching with us, we are quite the helpful and fun community. I'm not so sure about how civilized we are though, you might have to retract that statement as you get to know us. Glad to have you aboard, crunch on!
