I got my board running now. And i douse not like my ballistix ore my ballistix are hating the A8R. Got them @ 250 Mhz @ 2.8 V T1 @ 3-3-7-3-14-7-2-4. If i try 265 i get 5k errors in memtest+ v1.65.
I had a DFI Ultra D i thought i would have a bettery setup by going to the A8R but i was wrong. The V-core is not handeling 1.65 as anadtech said. I think retail boards are shipped with other biosses.
So now its hardmodding or wait untail Asus will give us a bios. And I think you can wait for a verry long time :\.
I hope the RD580 boards are comming soon so i can dump this A8R board.
I'm thinking of a hard mod. But if i do should i take 25k pot or a 50k ? i heard 25 K would give like +0.3v. What is the max with that 3 phase power suppy ?
I'm running 300 HTT @ 9x mult With the 166 mem defider giving me 245 MHz On my Ram @ T1. I'm realy hope that that RD580 will come soon. I heard it could run 5x300 HTT. ( Anandtech reported that ) And @ stock it would be faster than the A8N32 Deluxe board. Not we should hope that there will be good board From Abit, Asus, DFI of MSI. Abit makes the best boards ( My opinion ) only they lak features like high vdimm and v-dimm from +5v. DFI boards are geat clocking boards but have a lot of bug's.
No one that has new facts on this board ? Or when Asus will be releasing a Fix for that T1 and v-core problem ? If those 2 will be fixed it would be a nice board tho. But if this continiu's i will be replacing it.
Anyone else get a microphone to work?
I've got all drivers installed, when I plug one in, I select microphone from the pop-up connection detection thing, and it says it is properly connected. But no programs capture audio. Even the SoundMax Wizard doesn't detect any input.
Ideas? I'm wondering if my mic jack is dead.

Nope u have straight 22k and 27k. I would go for a 33K Tho. Asus never build tere boards for high v-core. I had a Nforce 2 that would only do 1.75. So i modded it the Max was 1.9V after that the board did get unstable. And i don't think u needmore than 1.65v. At leest for my cpu's more than 1.65v did allmost nothing just + 10 MHz and a :banana::banana::banana::banana: load of heat :).Quote:

Jep I Did. But @ stock heatsink its not even hot. Only a little bit warm. So a zalman passive sink should be more than enough. To bad u can't raise NB voltage. It can have a lot more power. B4 heat will become a problem.Quote:

Go and get your multimeter and start measuring the dimm circuitry... I bet you havn't even tried that, or bothered to dig deeper into the mystery.
The A8R-MVP even with the issues it has, is better than the Asrock.
These guys have to kick in 2T at around 250mhz. On the Asrock most had to resort to 2T around 230mhz.
I've done the Vcore and Vdimm mods to the ASRock board, an have checked it with a digital multimeter, however my Patriot XBLK doesn't require Vdimm higher than 3.2, so higher than 3.3 volts is not required for me.Quote:

still cannot run 1T over 240 FSB and this is with my PC3200 Rev 2 which will do DDR660 on a DFI..
New bios adds support for Raid5 on the ULI Southbridge. The site has new drivers to support the new Raid level too.
No other changes mentioned on the site.
Imho, the 0037 BIOS was the best. Or at least for me, it fixed some problems I had with the mem, it simply refused to run at CAS 2. I'll give the new BIOS a shot, the only thing i crave now is some added Vcore. My board does some 340+HTT anyway, I'm satisfied. ;)
EDIT: Looks like the 0402 doesn't have any problems with memories either. Let's see what the Vcore-department says.
EDIT #2: Well... It's the same shyte as usual. The Vcore overvolt gives me about .07V to play with, but not more...
Looks identical to the 0037 BIOS, I have to say.
I will give the new bios a try and run some crossfire with the x1300pros and some ocz 3200vx.

I and many other from the AT board have noticed the lack of voltage options and/or 1T command rate issue. I really pity Asus and their inability to listen to their customers. Almost all the issue outlined in this thread and other threads at other sites have been mentioned in the Asus forums but Asus has not replied to any of the customers' pleas. I personally have my new rig postponed until further notice until Asus can solve the issues with this board. Does anyone know when the RD580 boards are going to be available? I only know one individual who was able to get the AT 325htt and that was someone on the AT forums using a E4 stepping Venice w/a multiplier of 6 or 7. There is great potential in this board if only Asus weren't stupid :nono: :nono: :nono: :nono: s.
