Well, The CPU isn't dead! I went down the hall (undergrad @ OSU, ohio that is) and popped it in a friends computer. The 170 still works fine. On the other hand, I tried unplugging everything, resetting the cmos, and hittin the power button. Nada once I got it back together.
And BTW, At 2.9ghz my load temps were 42C. The first time I upped the voltage was 2.85ghz. If 3ghz isn't attainable then it is going to be damn close.

Try ram and power supply, you should be able to get those parts easy...
Is anyone getting the 165 boxed version from Monarch? So did thery have to stock or not? I ordered and I am waiting since Monarch will charge 15% fee for their error.
My Opty 165 CCBWE 0534SPMW out of the box @ 2916ghz. Water Cool. Priming right now and still going :) Have to pump Vcore by .05 to prime stable.

It's a CCBWE 0541. BTW, why does CPUz say it's a Toledo core? I thought it was a Denmark core... ?

I think you toasted the board, as these dualcores stress this board to the max. Make sure to watch the PWMIC Temp, mine is at 54C right dual Prime95 Small FT's. My old Opteron and venice cores never got close to that temp. Check case flow when you get your new board.Quote:
