peace perc,
I had 2 of same stepping. both did 2.65ghz 1.55-1.6v ish v-core on thermal take typhoon. Dual prime 95 stable. Was very hard to pick one chip over another as I had to return one... was toss up at end... :PQuote:

peace perc,
Yup I noticed 2.8ghz or so about perfect for any gaming you will do for now. 3ghz just makes things tad bit better but not really necessary.... YET... lets see how fear buckles whole thing again. Last time with BF2, 1600x1200, x850xt pe I had just didn't get good enough result and I was shoved to 7800gtx.... :P
Which bios is recommended for the dfi board? I get my cpu tomorrow :)
Well no 1 bios is good. You will need to find what is best for you. But if I had to say for the X2 it would be 704-2BT.Quote:

I had already read that, but I didn't say what I wanted to.
The thing is that I don't find it, and I wondered where I could get it.
Thanks!

thats the bios i used right off the bat. works great i have no complaints at all. infact other then the basic settings i havent even gone into mine and set any of the mem timmings and im off to a decent start....
hey you guys think i could shave off some voltage at this speed (10x280 at 1.55v) these things realy do run hot when running above defualt v-core i swear my temps get pulled down from -24c to around -9c under a load! thats worse then my prescott used to be and to be honest i didnt think it was possible to get any worse then the prescott was!!
thx perc,

@ Perc
Try this burn in method. It worked for me. Good luck

you can use winflash that does it thru windows, thats what i use to flash my bios on this DFI mb. good luck.
btw: guys look at this this is wierd... not sure if sandra is reading it wrong but shouldnt it be 2x280 and not 1x280 for the fsb/htt?? look at the screenie.
peace perc,
ok cool ill use that
@njkid (or anyone else)
did taking the IHS off help with your volts at all? I need more than 1.45v just to reach 2500mhz prime stable, although it's very cold (like sub 40c). So did taking the IHS off help? Or should i just perform even MORE burn in (since it used to need 1.55v to get 2500mhz stable).
cheers
don
the BT bios is modded so the dangerous options arent avail to you so there is no need to worry - the highest you can choose is 113% and the problem happened when you seleced higher than that!

haha
well feel free to use the other bios' out there ;)
i have been using the 704-2bt bios since my x2 arrived and havent had any issues - for what its worth !
OK, thanks!Quote:

By the way, I think I'll try some TCCD first, which BIOS would fit best?
the mod angry games over on dfi-street swears by any of the -2 bios' for any kind of ram......ive always used the -2 version of a bios and have had good results...
so ya i would give that 623-2 bios a shot and see how it goes
Oh... :eek:Quote:

This is true PoL but, the thing is you need to test a couple of different bios versions. Cuz what is good for me may not be good for you. I used to use the 510-2Fix bios and I ran BH-5 but several people with TCCD type ram used it and got great results. So this goes to show you that you never know. But rule of thumb -1=TCCD -2=BH CH-5 -3=Both. But you need to be the judge!Quote:
