A little update , i just got one yestarday successfuly unlocked to 16x6
Every time I read about someone getting 16 pipes I feel rage that mine can't even get 12 XD
Me too I got 16x1 + 6vp ! no artifacts no snowflakes whatso ever, haven't overclocked mine yet 2 hrs old, but i got a boost of 3400 in 03 by unlocking 6600 to 9000!Quote:

thanks to anyone who can shed light on this
Well, even if it does doom 3 is not a gameplay worthy game just  gfx. I would say get the leadtek as a lot of ppl are having luck with the full 16x6 like me ;)
Imo hl2 looks better, people look so much more realistic. Imo doom III sucks on game play, in an hour or two you will be very bored with the game.Quote:

Also get the leadtek, higher success rate and better cooling.
mine isnt good. it doesnt even unclock any pipes without problems. but thats ok, im upgrading to PCI-E next week.
but mine doesnt have atrifacts or anything with 12 pipes and at 420 core, i just dont want it like that for 24/7 use
I just got mine from Charlie and It is great. I run it at 12 pipes and 6 vertex shaders for everyday and at 375/801 but for benching I can run at 16,6 but I get artifcating on 3dmark01 even in 12,6
thanks guys, i think i'll get the leadtek an an nv5 silencer, not a bad combination for £100 in the current market, will also be watercooling soon with maze 4 so hope it mods 16x6 :d then i can really give it some hammer
has anybody got a 500/1000 capable card yet?

Looks like my second one is a good one. At stock voltages, one of the pipes flickered. Bump the voltage to 1.3V (bios 1.4V) and voila! no more artifacts  :woot:
The ram doesn't seem to go as far as the other did though. Anything past 935 artifacts in 3Dmark2k5. Core seems only happy up to 420. But the 8 extra pipes are worth it =)
Troman I have charlie's card unless he has a extra one up his sleeve :p:
i can run my card at 500/1000 in 3dmark01, but with just the stock 8 pipes, so it sucks.
To bench that card I would have to do... what's that called?? Channeling? I'd have to use mental telepathy to instruct your rig to open '01 and run abenchy, lol... how's she doin' for you? You know, BF2 on that card looked better than my X800XL that I replaced it with :(Quote:

I think that I am buyin a good cheap (good to OC) PC
Sempron64 2800+
6800le... :)
BTW, has anyone tried that Gainward bios on the Leadtek 6800LE to see if it work?
Also, I'm wondering if lowering RAM timings to get a better overclock in the memory is worth it in terms of performance.
Charlie she is doing excellent. What does artifcating mean when you see it? Also do you guys bench with artifacting?
I don't count it when I see artifacts. If I see anything funny I reduce speeds to make it go away. That's cuz I'm not Xtreme :p:
Also, it's interesting how the Hynix chips on these cards are rated at 2.8ns but on both cards I can easily get 900MHz (implying 2.2ns) and at least 930.
My 6800LE benchable at 501MHz GPU with 1.80V and 1050-1080MHz mem with 3.25V. But only with 12 pixel pipelines unlocked.Quote:

I got mine 425/958 at 16x1 6vp I think i need volt mods on the ram hehe
I recently RMA'd my BFG 6800OC because I had a good deal flickering @ their 'stock' oc'd settings. With the pipes/shaders unlocked, rivatuner refused to OC the card even 1mhz.
BFG unfortunately didnt have any more 6800OCs to replace it so they sent me a 6800GTOC 256MB as a replacement!! Its doing 425/1150 on stock cooler, when I get home I'm going to try some AS5, bios mod and that throttling fix to see how that helps things.
