Man that Intel rig is JUST STUPID!!! If this is REALLY true then these chips CAN"T go in anything so what is Dell going to with these chips?

news updates from them what do you guys think about thatQuote:
After our many misadventures with these three motherboards - starting with the Gigabyte, then going to the Epox and ending up with Asus - we arrived at the conclusion that the nForce4-SLI chipset is simply not yet ready to be used with the Intel platform. We therefore decided that we can no longer use this type of Intel-based motherboard for stress tests.
At this point the only solution left was to use a board with an Intel 955X chipset, which, although it is sold only individually, is supposed to run without problems. However, the use of an Intel component involves a clear limitation: the current Nvidia driver deactivates the SLI mode of the graphic card on all Intel boards.
Despite this, in order to continue to guarantee a fair comparison between AMD and Intel systems, we are now determined to use a complete Intel platform based on the 955X chipset. So we established new conditions: all benchmarks will be restarted and the counters simultaneously set back. The SLI mode in the AMD system will also be disabled.
The initial testing of an appropriate motherboard with this chipset had strange results: two of our very own boards, identical ones of the D955XBK type, were unable to work with the processors provided by Intel. The Asus P5WD2 Premium with 955X chipset is now being used.
And after all that, finally, the Intel platform is running again - after the replacement of a total of five motherboards within a single day!
im going to change my bet maybe 10 reboots
saaya, if ANYTHING is worthy of front page new its this !!!
The Intel rig AT IDLE is drawing just over 200 watts!!!
If you carefully read the "More info" section the guy basically says that the Epox board they testest with NFroce 4 SLI chipset burned out. here is a quote
We had a new, just-delivered Epox EP-5NVA+SLI version 1.0 - also equipped with an nForce4-SLI chipset - so a quick replacement was available. The board is suitable for dual cores, so re-equipping it later should be no problem. But again, we immediately experienced problems. After the initial start, the motherboard began to smell like an electrical fire, even though only the BIOS had been activated. After 10 minutes, the board shut down and could not be restarted.
Hahaha :fact:
5 MOBOS IN ONE DAY
LOL INtels new slogin "Only cost 1Grand perday to run or NEW AND IMPROVED DUAL CORE PENTIUM!!!" (then reads in fine print must replace 5 motherboards per day to mantian peak operation)
LOL

I don't think they are using pcp&p with Intel system anymore.. i saw some Red, regular size psu when they were tinkering with Intel CPU/Heatsink 10 mins ago.Quote:

I think that is an Enermax PSU... that they have in the Intel right now...

They are running Far Cry on Intel setup now..What is THG trying to prove here? i mean we have seen atleast 6 reboots/epox motherboard burning/Gigabyte failing/Asus not stable, Intel D running @ 90C Approx, etc etc..whats left to prove? They should simply declare AMD won Dual core round.
hmm the Intel's CPU fan is now on higher RPMs...

i dont want to go to the university just to see this is just so funny see how they are trying to make intel rig look better than amd
Why is the Intel fan running faster and the CPU a littel cooler did they switch HS? LOL trying to give Intel an edge?
Dragon
You are right 2000rpm to 3600rpm.. is that the same HSF? looks a bit smaller than the last one?Quote:

Intel is now running what 10deg cooler they changed the DAMN COOLER!!!

According to the second update, the Pentium D killed TWO intel brand D955XBK boards. In other words:
THE INTEL PENTIUM D KILLS INTEL'S OWN MOTHERBOARDS, THE VERY BOARDS THAT ARE DESIGNED TO RUN IT!!!
man this just gets better and better by the minute... the dead mobo count is almost as high as the reboot count. it seems at almost every reboot it kills a mobo..
and to think apple is switching to intel... i think they might want to rethink this. espcially considering the first intel cpu they are gonna use is a dual core... eek.
i really dont think the benchmark matters anymore even if in the land of hopes in dreams that we dont live in intel wins the cpu is still going on a motherboard genocide.
If only hehe
Hahaha!! for a second i was like WTF?! :ROTF:  Nice1 :toast:Quote:

First off we have the inital gigabyte board with already one re-boot
Next Toms switches boards to Asus NF4 and still shows 3 reboots
Can't have that!!! so he re-sets the boot counter back to 1!!!
Crashes 4 more times as shown here before finally upgrading to Asus 955x board. That's at least 7 crashes so far!!!
Meanwhile, as shown here AMD is rock solid 97 hours straight!!! (actually more like 102 but I don't have an archive of that)
Toms does'nt like Intel 7-9 crashes so he resets counter yet again to Zero for the intel system and whipes out AMD rocksolidness restarting all testing
Intel Crashed 3x since last night with the new testing on Asus 955x
Count them up to 12 crashes for intel, Zero for AMD.
