Now beware: ACPI Multiprocessor tweak sucks for 24/7 usage and it's not reversible without an O?S install... if you want 30K, plan on doing a fresh O/S install!!

It IS reversible!

Just go to device manager, computer, and select Roll Back Driver :)

Problem solved.

after i read all this therd i want to buy x800xl from tul or club 3d but we dont

have then in israel only sapphire :( :(

damn only 1.6ns memory :( :(

damn only 1.6ns memory :( :(

UMM...the 1.6ns memory is good...most cards come with 2.0ns. The lower the ns the faster the memory.

we have only sapphire that comes with 2ns we dont have any other xl card is israel yet :(

This is my Sapphire X800XL on winxp 24/7 settings, no special tweaks.

Now running 460/580 artifacts free with a modded OCZ Gladiator heatsink and a low speed fan, vGPU 1.49v pencil mod, no sinks on mem yet.

With stock cooler it only goes to 430 core, I know is a bad one and as I see while adding volts my GPU in particular does not benefit too much from higher voltage, tried even 1.75v and only gained about 10mhz and A LOT of heat.

Just by switching to the Gladiator, core rises from 430 to 450.

In my case vGPU is not worth it.

Gonna buy a X800XL and have to choose between Powercolor and Sapphire (the difference between then being 30$). Which would you recommend? And could you peeps who have x800xl's specify what brand they are? :)

The Powercolor, it has 2 DVI, VIVO and additional power connector.

i got a connect 3d.. the cheapest brand i could fine. 2ns memory no power connector , does 455 core and 580 memory with no vmods , if i go 2mhz over 455 it just crashes out of 3d mark but still no artifacts so i think it has potential to go quite a bit higher when i get myself a new multi meter (my daughter broke my only one) got trimmers ready to go on

guys don't lead people to believe they all come with 1.6ns cause they don't. I just got my powercolor and it has 2ns. A friend from another part of the world also got one recently and his too has 2ns ram. It is still hit and miss.

Does the 1.6ns RAM overclock that much better? I don't see many people getting above 550-600 with stock mem voltage, no matter the RAM type. :confused:

Probably that 1.6ns mems comes undervolted and "perhaps" with volts they do a lot better than 2.0ns, until someone try it this is only theory.

Has anyone mounted An ATI Silencer 5 onto their powercolor X800XL? I'm sure it will fit but most XL cards don't have rage theatre chip and power connector so not sure if it's going to get in the way. Is the power connector for the fan the same and if plugged in nothing is going to blow? I thought I read a post where the fan sparked when plugged into a card no longer working.

I got a powercolor with 1.6ns.

But the problem is the mem won't go any further than 545mhz or so according to atitool. Tested with normal room temperature (20 c), and a zalman vf700-cu on it.
Did manage to get 577 with little artifacts with room temp of 10 c.

Really don't get why the mem just won't run any higher, it's rated 1.6 so it should run 600 pretty easily right?

Going to try pencil modding it for the second time, already did it once, but the resistance was stil lthe same after about an hour of trying, must be doing something wrong.

Not always.

Some Club 3D have 2.0 ns chips.

But the 05 and 03 are at similar clocks, the 05 is correct, the '03 is too high. Probably just a software bug, nothing else implied.....
