I called ATACOM this morning when the damn adapter was 50 bucks just to make sure it was available. The guy on the phone didn't understand the point of it, I explained it to him and said it was in stock and no less than 2 hours later they jacked up the price. :mad:

I'm just going to wait and get it for cheaper. :toast:

XPC-Gear has the adapter too, for $49.99. I ordered it thursday night and had it shipped UPS ground for about $6.50. Alot better than what ATACOM wants for it plus+shipping. :slap:

Do you really have to flash the BIOS of the ASUS P4C800-E DELUXE over to 1021 with another P4 CPU in order to get the Dothan and the socket adapter to work? Is there any other way to get it working straight out of the box?

i'm not sure it will work out of the box, but i'm assuming that since they will sell the mobos+ adapters as a bundle (as well as seperate of course), they should already have the newest bios as the shipping bios

I wouldn't think it would be to hard for a BIOS modder to mod a ABIT or DFI boards BIOS to support this thing. I sure as hell hope so. :toast:

I might be mistaken but the -J suffix could mean support for -NX Bit. (or EDB, Execute Disable Bit, etc)

i saw the J versions of dothan around the shops.. i wonder witch one OC better ..the J one or the other?
is true that on P4C800-E is not possible to change the volt core?

i really hope in some bios mods for other mobos like Dfi and Abit.. on my ic7-max 3 a dothan would be great!! anybody knows if tictac or bigtoe are working on some project?
