k another update from me:
earlier i said i had it at 255 at 3.6 with over 10 passes.
i left it running and went to work and just got home...
4 errors after six hours
i can definitely see these errors going away with longer use of these sticks, since i have a largely reduced amount of errors at 3.5v...
but i dont care and wont run at 3.6v versus 3.4v for an extra 5 mhz....lol
well after some testing so far what i have is :
3.2v up to 245mhz
3.3v up to 252mhz
both at 2-2-2-(5-11)
seems that it can do more but my mobo/cpu might be a problem
okay, two posts up i just said i got 4 errors after six hours on memtest 5 at 3.6v 255mhz
just a reminder: at the beginning, i was able to get 250 right off the bat with 3.4v stable...even at 252 i got like 1000 errors..per pass
after about a week of use (mostly priming)...i was able to get only a couple errors every few passes at 255mhz at 3.5v
it took me 3.6v to hit 255 more "stably" (even though i got four errors after six hours)
mind you, i dont consider any errors stable, just couldnt find a better word at the moment
anyways heres the point after that brief flashback:
right now i just made my 20th pass at 255mhz at 3.5v error free!! whereas at the beginning i'd get like...600 errors every pass and then a week later, a couple errors every few passes to now....no errors after 20 passes!! i never believed in burning in until my previous set of Twinmos utt and now this set. i am now a believer.
EDIT:two errors after 22 passes :mad: i jinxed myself.
I'm going to get into this more over the weekend, but before I go out for the night, I have a couple of questions.
How would I know if my PSU is preventing me from OCing more? I'm getting the feeling that maybe it's my PSU, but it very well could be just because I don't really know what I'm doing yet. :D Would there be some way to indicate that my PSU isn't enough?
The other thing I had happen is new to me (I've never OCed RAM before so that's part of it). I set my timings for 2,2,2,5. I lost my BIOS. System rebooted and no BIOS found. I had to use the jumper. Went back in my memory timings and pin-pointed the problem. When I changed my Ras to Cas timing from Auto (4) to 2, I lost my BIOS again. Is this normal? I've never seen this before.
Right now, my memory is running at 200MHz, 2,3,2,5 1T. The 3 is from Auto because I slowed the memory down to 333MHz with a 240 HTT.
Earlier I had my HTT at 250x10 1.5v on the cpu. I lowered my CPU tonight and played with some memory timings and I had that at 220 2,4,2,5 at 2.75v (I think). When I set both at those speeds together, Windows won't start. That's why I ask about my PSU.
I'll read up some more tomorrow and get back into this.
If your PSU does not have at least 28A available on the 12v rail, in my experience this will cause issues when iverclocking, I prefer a quality PSU with at least 30A on the 12v line. In the case of a nwer "split 12v rail" design add the 2 lines together ahd this is your total. With a lesser PSU you can pretty much be on problems, especially with a high end grahics card.Quote:

Different manufacturers rate "differently". If you were using that 18A on an NF2 rig you would be fine. A64 has much higher power requirement, not to mention the needs of a higher end vid card.
I love my fortron too but since I got my 6800 my 12v(previously tweaked up a hair) has been dippin under 12v :( . Time to start huntin for a new atx 2.0Quote:

Up until yesterday, my CPU was going at 250x10 and was stable. Something changed from then to now because I can't get over 240x10 with my voltage as high as I can set it (1.55).
So I have my memory at DDR333 (200MHz) with my HTT at 240. It looks like I can get the memory up to 225 Mhz, is there a better configuration I should be using?

i agree with your assesment though, im really worried about how this will handle A64\new videocard and all of my crap, every molex is already filled heh...ive heard of fortrons going way over specs before, but that may be pushing it...

You need an OCZ booster or a Vdimm mod, VX loves volts up it's arse.
I agree, more volts. 3.4v-3.5v is best. I know you are limited on the ASUS SLI. If you had the DFI SLI board 3.4v would be as easy as setting it in the BIOS. :)Quote:

i needed 3.1 with my twinmos to hit 2-2-2
with my current ocz, i forget what it required to hit 2-2-2...either 3.1 or 3.2, its only been a week or so too...lol...gettin old :(
i heard the pc-4000 has a bit easier time hitting 2-2-2 at 3.0...but i dont think i've seen 2.9v hit 2-2-2
spend 30-40 bucks to get the ddr booster if you dont feel you can handle a mobo or psu mod
either that or sell the ram if you cant give it the juice....lol
Yeah I loved my fortron, but the new 24 pin connection, and running sli, me needed a new psu. The 600watt OCZ power stream I have now, is awesome. With 2x6800gt's this thing doesn't budge. Tweaked the 12v rail just a hair from 12.06v stock to 12.16 the +5v is still stock at 5.13v and the +3.3 dipped slightly so I adjusted to 3.36. Pretty sweet. These rails never budge even under load. My fortron was great, but even it varied a little.Quote:

Guys, if you have 3v or less on your boards don't dispair. Try 2-3-2 instead and see howe high you can clock, i reach ddr500 with 3V 2-3-2 pretty easy.

Hey guys, im reporting in on my experience with atacom. I ordered my ocz value ram at about 3:30 central time, and it was shipped to me the same day. I got two day shipping so i got it in two days. I havnt dont the volt mod on my 9nda3+ yet but I put the sticks in and set my voltage to 2.8v(9nda3+ undervolts about half a volt or so) then set them to 220htt 2-3-2-10 and they booted right up. Ive tested them out further and can get 230htt 2-3-2-10 memtest stable on them after running them all night at 225. Check these pics out, ocz is using some different packaging but I still believe they are utt by the way they perform.
