Anyone tried seeing how low they can get timings on this kit with 1.6-1.65v @ 1866?
Not always. I've got 17000CL9D-8GBXM which has Hynix CFR and it's double-sided.
Look under the heatspreader.
Hynix

Samsung

I was thinking that it was the other way around, anything using Hynix BFR or CFR H9C ( H5TQ2G83BFR and H5TQ2G83CFR, respectively) will always be double-sided, it is the Samsung based stuff that could be either double-sided HCH9 (K4B2G0846D), or single-sided something else (Don_Dan suggested perhaps K4B4G0846B in his post #129 in this thread http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...-Preview/page6).
I was thinking that 8GB Hynix is double sided (16x512) and 4GB is just single sided (8x512) but i have never owned Hynix so i'm not 100% sure. I thought Hynix chips only came in 512MB flavour? I know Samsung makes 256MB HCH9 chips so 4GB sticks should be double sided then.
Both Hynix and Samsung have 2Gb and 4Gb ICs that could be used in these kits:
2Gb ICs ( 2GB single sided/ 4GB double sided sticks ):
- Samsung K4B2G0846D-(HCH9/HYK0/etc)
- Hynix H5TQ2G83(BFR/CFR)-(H9C/PBC)
4Gb ICs ( 4GB single sided/ 8GB double sided sticks ):
- Samsung K4B4G0846B-(HCH9/MCH9/MCF7/etc)
- Hynix H5TQ4G83MFR-(H9C/PBC)
I have the F3-2800C11D-8GTXD kit and it is "double sided" with serial number 5th-8th digits labeled "2400" (July 2012)... using a 10x Hastings Jeweler's loupe I believe the ic to be Samsung? with 3x3 solder beads per ic. My older F3-17000CL9D-8GBXLD kits seem to be BFR? with 4x4 solder beads per ic.
I could not really make out the other Samsung/Hynix markings in the profile of the ic as shown in drawings/photo. I don't believe I have a kit with CFR so I'm not sure if those four tiny gold dots are easy to make out in proflie view? Anyone think or know if CFR can be binned that high?
I don't think CFR can do 1400MHz C11 with 1.65v but I could be wrong.
I've never seen CFR binned for those speeds, 2666 is the max I've seen. TeamGroup is using Samsung 2Gb D-rev for their 2800 kit, I think this is what's used on G.Skill's kit as well. I think you're right about your XLD kit, I've seen one in a review and it was Hynix BFR, if your kit is from 2011 and marked 0240 it should be BFR.
I don't think so, either.
In his review of the 2x4GB GEIL EVO Veloce DDR3-2133, posted on Overclockers, Woomack reached 1400MHz C11 on these CFR based modules, however, voltage was much higher at 1.775v. He also hit 1300MHz CL11 @ 1.65v. I was personally surprised and impressed by those results on CFR (H5TQ2G83CFR). I'm pretty sure that's the best results for CFR that I've seen.

Hello,
My kit xxxx1500xxxx 2400
I see that in the chips out HCH9. seen under the microscope
Tomorrow proof that he has such.

From Don_Dan's post #230
Can you make out the K4B4G0846B? Would be nice to be able to confirm what's in the "1500"s.Quote:

These are the single-sided, right?
Would yours be 2x8GB kits?
2x4gb kit
I just got a kit of 4x8GB, xxxx1500xxxx. Produced june 2012.

It may be that the numbers of reports are not the same as you say.
Today came another module trident x 2x8gb xxxx1500xxxx june 2012 Double sided
Also testing two 2x4gb kits xxxx1500xxxx verified June 2012 chip samsung HCH9 double sided
As Don_Dan pointed out, HCH9 can be both K4B2G0846D, which would be used in a double-sided 4GB module, and K4B4G0846B, which is probably what is being used in the single-sided Trident 2400 4GB modules and perhaps also in the double-sided 8GB modules.Quote:

Sorry that I wasn't clear in my request...I was simply asking you to verify whether your HCH9 chips were the "2G", or the "4G" variant. That of course requires you being able to read the rest of the numbering on the chips besides the HCH9, which is why I asked this question in an earlier post...
In hindsight, I really should have just asked if you could make out the rest of the numbering on the chip, besides the HCH9, and if so, what was it. Would have been less confusing. Sorry about that.Quote:

One more question...where are you buying these double-sided 1500s from? Newegg, or elsewhere?
I have trouble passing 32m at 2600 CL10. Use 1,8vt
Testing pass ok 2400 cl9 1,72vt
Testing pass ok 2400 cl10 1,57vt
Someone has been stable from 2600 CL10?
Draco, could you test it at 6-6-6 or 6-7-6 with Command Rate 1T & 2T?
My kit (xxxx1500) works @ 832 MHz 6-6-6 1,75 V:

If you want to run such timings you'd better get yourself some ram with elpida Hyper chips. This ram was designed for high speed/ relaxed timings.
I just want to compare results. This is kit was sent to review.
I was thinking that Samsungs likes tRCD & tRP higher than tCL. But this kit clocks identical at 6-7-7 and 6-6-6 (same for 7-7-7 and 7-8-8) and this looks a bit strange for me.
Modules are single-sided (2 x 4 GB).
Sorry bro, but I sold HCH9 modules.
But if I tested 1.84vt 2600 10-13-12-32 pass 32m
