Thank you very much for the feedback and I definitely do understand that the product based on styling can become a very select group but if done right can appeal to many.

u can use the bottom chamber for Hard Drive whorage to convert the case into a SERVER.
Having it modular, means u can meet a lot of audience, because like the Lexus IS series... the IS-F would be like having the bottom watercool rad chamber.
Make intigration easy... no plastic holders which can break... give us solid bolts and nuts to tighten and replace if they get stripped.
This is the only route i see most effective because u can meet the air audience... no options required... and the water group... extra lc bay required... and front out 2 lines with 1 branch case.
And while in the process, please dont TRANSFORMER it... we love transformers.. however only when were watching it on the big screen with lots of CG!!
We dont like our case to transform.. because... well.... thats just silly.
I like your thinking. Keep it cheap, simple, and elegant. User friendly with plenty of nice, but not over the top, options. It dosent have to be an "Uber watercooling case of Awesomeness." Just make sure there are options to mount a few rads. At least a 360 and a 240.Quote:

In my opinion, the best watercooling cases are the one's that the finish end's are really good. A consistent case, an elegant case (like the tj07)... The most important (in my opinion) isn't to make a case that can fit any type of radiators, the important is that you can start using a 360 radiator and with huge space, letting to the people who wants to get more from the case, to mod it by them self.
It sounds strange, but look! the obsidian 800D just can fit a 360 rad in the inside but there are lot of mods (including mine) based in a obsidian 800D fitted with 480 rad's and 240 rad's.
Something really interesting should be to add silentblocks in the bay's because there are a lot of people whose pump's are in the bays.
Another interesting thing will be to make something like the obsidian or the tj07, to make 2 chambers, for example one for the hardware and the another one for the PSU (or radiators).
In my opinion, the idea of include a cheap radiator sounds really bad, why? because the most people who are in the WC world, knows wich type of radiator is the best one for him, but should be ok to make the case compatible with thick radiators (as 60mm radiator + push / pull fans -> 50 mm).
The watercooling cases, normally are really expensive, it's impossible to find a good case for watercoling with a low cost. The quality and each detail it should worth the expensive price of the case.
In my opinion, the things should need to be made good from the starting. And If the final case design it's expensive? not a really big problem if the final ends worth it.

extra holes in the top or bottom of the garage could be possible, instead of just the back, as long as it lines up effectively with the case and looks ok if they have to be covered up (like the top could have some ports there that you detach if you put the garage on the top, and then re-attach them onto the top of the garage

Clean should be the operating thesis. If you want to make a line for little Johnny at christmas with all the pretty colors and built in off the shelf WC then great! That's the one you'd want to keep under $200. I think a real enthusiast would pay upwards of $300 or more for a nice clean, well thought out 1 color case that would accommodate whatever the mind could imagine. Two markets, two different philosophies.
I guess I'm stingy, the most I ever paid for a case was $150-ish on my current one I think (don't remember exactly) and that was a lot for me :p:
But it was a worthy buy since I like it well enough and really no other case on the market appeals to me all that much right now as far as having the look I want + the capability I want. Well, or at least the space to make it have the capability like my current one was like before I took power tools to it and chopped holes in it :rofl:
Okay, I'm sorry, but that post just caught me. I think the point he was trying to make is regarding the case only, not the wording in the associated post. I think someone mentioned "style" a few posts ago - beyond all else, an ugly case will turn the masses away faster than any other single feature or limitation of the case. That pic of the new Tt case makes it look like a Raven and a Lanboy Air had one of those "what happens in Vegas" weekends that neither one wants to remember, and the Chaser case was the outcome. In specific, the rainbow effect on the front intake is hideous. Mixed color flash mode, well, at least we can turn it off. I have a hard time getting past that one item, truthfully. Then there's the case "feet", which look awkward, the bizarre shaped window (and again with the giant fan in the side of the case), the baby blue detailing, and the odd green tubing in the case, which doesn't seem to match anything else on the case. I seriously don't mean to bash Tt here - I actually have an Armor+ case, which all else aside, does have a good frame. Curb weight is somewhere near that of an 87 Buick, and the "toolless PCI-E" clips are god-awful about breaking (all replaced with thumb screws now), but all things considered, it's not without its redeeming qualities too. But that case design is several years old now, and it's price versus the drawbacks it has makes it pale when compared to other newer cases. Take a step back and look at the recent offerings from Tt in the case department. Level 10 - odd looking and not very configurable. And how many 13 year olds are going to be into watercooling a PC? That seems to be the demographic Tt was aiming for on that case, as most adults (25-40 "ish") won't be building a rig in something like that.
If you want to build a serious WC case, regardless of the price point you're aiming for, the comments I keep seeing in this thread pretty much sum up the overall feel - simple, clean, modular, easy to set up without a jigsaw, unibit, and dremel. Look at the Corsair 800D, Silverstone Temjin series, Case Labs M8 or M10, MM Ascension, Haf-932, Cosmos S, and the list goes on. A wide variety of shapes and sizes, but each one has a solid group of followers who will swear by the cases they own. They're simply styled, easy to work with, relatively configurable for their respective price range, etc. Why is Frank Sinatra as popular as ever today? Simple, easy to listen to, and impeccable style.
However simple top 480 rad mod for 800D might be .. once you add to price of case price of radgrills for rad mods, it's suddenly gets at overpriced TJ11 territory. It's easy to pass/forget separate extra spending when moding (LC is such a decease :)), but money is lost nevertheless. And i know many people who installed at 800D only 3x120 despite simplicity of 4x120 mod.
That's why i'll keep :horse: and gonna repeat, repeat, repeat, case meant for LC should allow mounting lot of rad sections with NO modding required first and foremost. No modding required = THAT is less extreme/wider niche, that today is filled only by uber costly half-custom cases.
People pinch pennies when calculating cost of LC sys and often use budget components (hats off to eg. swiftech MCRs and Yate Loon fans). But why they oh so often ignore and don't sum up cost of dremel and rad grills? :)
Thank you, And I do agree. as I would like to work on a chassis that is a little less "gamer/extreme" styled and more elegant for you guys. but the issue I keep coming across as you look back in this very thread is that all of these changes add to the cost, remember there are many things involved when producing/ cutting and punching out the panels and all of the components... some LCS guys in here say no worries we will pay for it if its good but then some say you need to make it this way but offer it below 170 or 180.... that is why im trying to feel out what kind of price range would be acceptable and feature expectations from your community so we have a better idea of what would be feasible and what would just not be an option.Quote:

Like said above, you can cut down on prices by not including hot-swap backplanes (that's for servers, not LC cases), lighting (people provide their own anyway), and even 3.5" drive cages i'd say. Strip it down to essentials, provide some optional parts for people who really want a series of 3.5" cages and other ideas shown in this thread.
maybe it's been stated already (i admit, i haven't read the thread in its entirety - just perused through it) but here is my idea for what it's worth:
simplicity is always best. think of a botique PC maker (like Falcon NW for example). you take a VERY basic concept and then start adding options. let's call these options "modules" as someone else has already suggested. like the PC botique you can offer different starting points (for say LC, Air, Sub-Zero, whatever) then you "build" your own case......maybe i want HHD cages...or an extra "rad module" down below for rads. or, maybe i want 2.5 SSD drive bays with a compartment for a phase change system. customize the frame so that it can accept as many mods as you can offer, and then simply let the customer decide what he/she wants to purchase. for example: maybe the LQ and the Phase Change cases come with a built in compartment below the MB compartment that is large enough to fit a P/C with a port to the tier above for the CPU mount. something of that size would also easily accept 2 quad radiators or a couple tri-fan rads and associated pumps. anyway, you get the idea. i think EVERY case should be customizable like this - just as the rest of you PC is.

While this isn't an ideal water cooling chassis, TT sure has gone a long way in terms of aesthetics. Thumbs up.
aesthetics? - yes. better fitting for LC? - no. Given size of it with different design users should have been able to stuff more & bigger rads then in this (ext hdd enclave and buttons on top of case rob at least one extra rad section, from what i see right away). TT never claimed though that this is the one that they released for LC and designed using feedback from here, so no blame for that.
