Let me know if anyone wants a pair, otherwise I'll be selling them locally. Or will you get them now, Dave?

Dave--name your price. I have a drawer I can plop some Sammys into, or a cheap E-ATX chassis on NewEgg. I should have a job coming soon--I gave up my pride and applied to Firedog and Geeksquad.
Jaco pointed out to me that Jcool could also be interested in a pair of chips. I think it would be best to ask him first, since he's getting a full set anyways.
Yeah. Well once I get a job I can afford a Sossaman rig.
Ok. Well Dave: what do you really want for your Q6600?
That's a handpicked Q6600 , the best of the best we could find at that time!!
Better keep that cpu.
sorry to threadjack here, but my processors just came :D
Ok Dave. Anyone else willing to get rid of a Q6600?
Yep. Well better question: anyone making the transition to Yorkies?
when someone gets their hands on those heatsinks, could u please please post pics of them, un-installed, from the bottom (the side that'll touch the cpu die) please! :bows:
As requested, some pics..
Pics of the HS didn't come out good but you can clearly see the step on the bottom. That step is app 1/8" thick.
The 10 heatsinks I grabbed and the 2 backplates:

The HS from the bottom and showing the step.
These sinks are app 1.5" thich from top to where they hit the cpu:

and the 4 boards. I'm going to try and get the HS in this box with the boards and backplates.

Are those backplates suited for dual heatsinks? They look rather big to me. Also, are there any backplates added with the mobo or is it just the motherboard that you got? Not that it would really matter, but my place tends to get dusty after a while.
Those backplates are one plate for each system, yes, 2 HS screw into each plate and as to other backplates do you mean I/O plates?
If so, then no, I have searched and searched and there is no I/O plate made for these. You could make one but thats a pain.
Back in a while, food is calling.
Just out of curiosity, how much would it cost to get a board + 2x CPUs + heatsinks + shipping to Australia? RAM isn't a problem, I can get PC3200 DDR2 EEC for about AU$20-30 for a 512mb stick or ~AU$60 for a 1 gb stick. Would they run better with 4x512mb or 2x1Gb? And I'm assuming that they don't have an IHS, yes?
We've seemed to have skipped spring over here in Aust, so it's gone from cool wet and rainy to 35+ C days in about a week, so I'd be interested in something that runs fairly cool and is cheap, especially if it puts out something close to a stock Q6600 in PPD.
Eller
 u guys are getting 35 already?!? wth - we got miserable weather right now  no fair - i wants sunshine!
where are/can u get ur DDR2 ECC+REG ram for $60 per 1GB dimm? :)
edit: whoops what was I thinking - $60/1GB is crummy price hehe - I'll be paying roughly that much for a 2GB kit:

I'll be getting 2, 2 GB kits (4GB total).... that place ^ ship international; there is another WA lad on these forums who has bought from them, 'SoulsCollective'
You can have the sunshine, I want the cold :p:
Trancend 1Gb DDR2 PC3200 for AU$63 + shipping. And there are a few others around the AU$60-70 range.
Edit: Oh, how much do they charge for shipping?
