lexan = polycarbonate. yes
That pump is going to be nice and cool now.
not that it has the tendency to overheat, but its been said
that it gets quiet hot, ive never had one run for longer then
a few minutes but just from that i can already tell that its a
hot bugger, and i think i looks pretty nice with a fan attached
to the end of it
if you dont mind me asking what size screws did you use to attatch the fan with the spacers???
thanks
CCC
m4 x 60mm and i forget what size spacer it is, but i need to get another set so ill take note of it next time
that ddc looks very happy with that fan combo :D
Dude this is looking friggin SICK!!!!!!!:shocked:
Keep up the good work mate!!
And BTW, I think I like the delrin top on the EK better now. :D
ok update time!
ive decided to go with dual DDCs for the CPU loop and
a D5-V for the GPU loop. so i think i know where im
putting the pumps, only one will be visible, the secound
ddc will be next to the rad, i wish i could display them
both in a nice manner but there isnt enough room and
the way i would have to tube the two tops are not to
my liking, so this is the only way, which is fine to me.
hopefully the ek top for the D5 will make its way to the
US soon, so i can get one of those for this build would
be awesome if it came in an acrylic too, so it would
match. but thats asking for alot. sorry for the grainy pics
shooting at high iso, i didnt use a tri pod. most all things
are up in the air, and i need to make sure that the pump
will actually clear the side panel, and a few other things.
but this project is definitely moving

what do the back side of the Res mounts look like?
back side? like hows its mounted?
yeah, how does it mount...one screw with a nut, 2 screws...sorry for being vaque on my question.
theres only a single mount point, and its just a bolt with a few washers and a nut.
dunno if this is in the thread already, but what size LEDs did you use (and what would you use 3mm vs. 5mm for?)
in this build all leds will be 5mm, reason for that is generally because all i had were 5mm
to be honest i would of used 3mm, for the face that there smaller and would be more
discreet, but there is generally no difference between a 5mm led and a 3mm
leds come in a whole array of sizes, shapes, styles, it all depends on the application you
want to use it for.
im working on a LED guide, its been in the making for about a week, and hopefully
ill have something by next week
edit:
anyone see the new mdpc comp? makes me sad.. :(
i didnt think i was the first to think of the idea but
it looks like he'll be the first to be known to do it :(
On the topic of LEDs, I'm looking to acquire some for a build I'm working on. Specifically I'm looking for bright blue ones that are square (well, rectangular but they usually refer to them as square), and suitable for running off a 12v rail. I've seen it commented elsewhere that ebay is the best bet, but honestly I rather get them from someplace a little more professional. Any advice on the best place to pickup some LEDs? I swung by radioshack the other day, even though they rip you off for everything, but they had almost nothing in terms of LED selection (or just about any electronics actually). Seems that more and more radioshack specializes in cheap electronic toys and cellphones with the odd adapter thrown in.
If you do put that LED guide together, in addition to mentioning locations to pick up LEDs, a section on the proper way to wire them up and perhaps a link to a resistor color code chart would probably be a good idea.
all things you suggested are already in the guide,
the guide is generally swayed for pc applications.
reason ebay is a good play to start is because there
are many overseas sellers that sell in bulk which
has a great volume saving. so theres a higher value
buy in quantity. now you dont have to always buy
from ebay to get a good deal, i had purchased my
LEDS previously from jab-tech.com and PPCS, but
when i do buy in bulk its easy to find a manufacture
that will allow mixed buys with of course a minimum
(either $ or quantity)
just do a google search for some suppliers
ill find some more reputable suppliers soon
Woah nice! Yours is looking good too evil :)
WHOA that looks AWESOME evil!
Your rig looks great. The latest MDPC rig just beat you to it.
You should have put a patent on it mate :p:
