And 3 weeks of headaches & all I got was 4.06 stable with decent temps.
Thanks ASUS

I'm using BIOS 0402 with tj max idle temps 55-60 load 28-32 (Real Temp 2.60).
I figure 6 hours of prime 95 & Everest (each) is stable enough for me.
Super pi /mod 1.5 XS - Checksome 8C14FD7D (it's not working, according to other threads - it's down)
Here's my CPUz Validation http://valid.x86-secret.com/cache/banner/371756.png
Let me restart & take pics of bios & will see if I can add them on. BRB
Thanks Puttz
The files are to big for uploading.
I'll downsize then post.
Got it!!!
Here's my BIOS.
ExpressGate is disabled.
Most important - I found when I uninstalled AI Suite - Things started coming together a whole lot easier!!!
@Puttz,
You are SUPER man !!!!
MILLION THANX !!!!!!!!
Sorry for a late reply... Here is the setting for 475x8 (3dmark stable)
CPU Voltage: 1.4
CPU GTL (0/2): 0.66
CPU GTL (1/3): 0.66
CPU PLL: 1.5
FSB Termination: 1.24
DRAM Voltage: 1.8
NorthBridge : 1.41
NB GTL Reference: 0.67
SouthBridge: auto
Clock Over-Charging: auto
for 481x8, i used the same setting, only the dram i increased to 2.0vdimm and northbridge to 1.4x (i increased 2 levels from 1.41)
Not true my friend, but you will find 2x1GB a LOT easier to clock to 1800+ over 2x2 or 4x1.
When you enter the realm of 4GB added load on the MCH introduces the need for clock skew, hence why i showed a simple guide on the OCZ forum.
Clock skew, command skew etc take a lot of learning, if you all want to get the best from a 4 or 8GB setup you need to be aware these options are seriously needed.
I have made good progress in understanding when the performance bug with 9800 GX2 shows off on P5E3 premium board:

I hope the new bios will fix it.
Your welcome, I hope it helps.
One other thing I though of - notice that pcie frequincy is up slightly. I had all the hard benching done (passed), but once in a while my screen would flicker & sometimes restart.
I played with everything & realized my cards are in crossfire & overclocked. Once I raised it - not an issue since.
Also I did a fair bit of fan replacement/movement in my case throughout the process in oder to get the best possible circulation across the components. That is what was keeping me from breaking 4 barrier with temps I can live with (till I get the time to lap the cpu & cooler).
All tests were preformed in the case with a constant room temp of 74 degrees farenheit.
Well I think that's about all the issues outside the box that I can think of.
Now it's tweaking time :)
Good luck!
I may be coming back to this thread fulltime y'all. The BlackOps [aka POS board] has so many bugs that unlesss you are running an extreme CPU with CellShock RAM [eventhough I know of a guy that has a QX9770, with a boat load of high end Corsair Dominator RAM that can't even get it to POST at default 333/400FSB specs, sad sad sad] it just won't work right for you. I, myself, had to fight so much to get it to boot my Q9450 at 2.66Mhz [8x multiplier] that it just killed the whole experience for me. To top it off, when I shutdown/turn it on, it randomly load its own settings, like 6x multiplier. And don't even get me started on the fact that it down right refuses to run my RAM at 6-6-6-18 -2T [rated specs for 1333Mhz] due to the fact that if you up the RAM voltage to anything above 1.648v it does not POST at all.
I've heard that buggy issues too.
BlackOps refuses to post (let along to stay stable) with several RAM brands, no matter how good and expensive... Bummer !!!
On the other hand P5E3 Premium Wi-fi made me feel happy yesterday when after having applied the 0204 BIOS, my 4x1GB ddr3 cellshock modules (set with 7-7-7-20-IT) passed two times the Memtest86 (second time gave me only 2 errors) with PLL 1.70 and NB 1.41 (it's the minimum value to make vista to work).
I'm getting close, I feel it...
Some voltage tweaking may be needed with GTL 0/2 (set now at 0.63) GTL 1/3 (set at 0.67) and FSB Termination (set at 1.30).
Rest set at...VCore of my QX9650 (333X450X7) at 1.36875, SB 1.20, NB GTL at 0.67, ClockOverCharging 0.80 and as per memory settings.. Static Read and Dynamic Write both disabled, all rest at AUTO).
Any suggestions are MOST WELCOME !!!!! :)
That's a pretty high PLL voltage for an extreme processor that you are not even running at a high multiplier. When I did 450FSB stable on that board with my Q9450, I lowered it a bit, I think I last left it at 1.62-1.66v [I know I said it was high and the difference between 1.70 and 1.66 is not much, BUT, 1.66v at 450FSB will leave him more headroom when he tries to go for a higher FSB].
Quick question, this board runs the PCIEx16 slots [main 2] at x16 when in CrossFire, right? Because if it doesn't, then waiting a couple of weeks for the P5Q3-Deluxe is a more interesting option. P5Q3 runs the PCIEx16 slots [when used in CrossFire] at 8x, but it is nearly $150 cheaper, and in some of the benchs I've seen so far it is coming out neck to neck with the P5E3 Premium.
It's an X48 board; of course it's running the two main (blue) slots at 16x.
This board works great with my Cellshock Blues. Testing thus far
man this is one sxc board its a high quilty board
BenchZowner ? Was wondering how you found 503beta?
The beta bios 0503 seems to have solved my performance issues with 9800 GX2.
I will do more testing to confirm...
Thanks for sharing BenchZowner !
0503 solved my performance issues with 9800gx2 also
