Strange! Yeah, doesn't hurt to give it another try if you only tried once. One time when overclocking my Barton (Athlon XP-M), it was stuck at 2.6 GHz for a month and then I tried again later on and it could do 2.7 GHz! :eek:Quote:

I had to back off to 770/1000 because the ati driver crashed every 15 minutes playing COD4. Prety stable after that.

ATI Overdrive has not worked since the flash. I can start it up and it just sits at the default clocks until I cancel.

Bios works great for me and allows ccc to overclock to 900/1150.
With that bios ive been able to pc to 770/1140 so I figured with a little more voltage I can get the core a little higher.

i tried the hes editor and almost lost both cards. luckily i have my mx400 pci card as backup for bad flashes.
I really need a bios with more voltage, unlocked and has high ccc oc options. All the ones ive tried are only one or the other. the one from

works great but im sure I could get higher clocks on the core if it had more voltage.
edit: Does overdrive stop working for everyone and these modded bios's? I really need overdrive to clock my cards in crossfire. I cant seem to clock both of them with anyother program. Im running vista 64 so only clocking with overdrive works.
edit again: I guess the bios in that link is a locked bios. all the unlocked bios's Ive tried max out at 730/1010 in ccc. is there any unlocked bios's that go higher?

You folks would be better off waiting for MVKTech to get the new version of RaBIT out so it's easy to edit the BIOS. I've had little luck getting more of an overclock by changing the BIOS voltage anyway. 770 MHz is about all I can do on my 3850 X-Turbo III, even with the BIOS set for 1.312v. It only gets you 1.28v (~ +0.06v) or so anyway.
Overdrive stops working yes. I think a checksum fix might get around that, but I haven't been able to figure out how to fix up the checksum.
Go pester the folks at MVKTech for me. Maybe they'll get more motivated to finish RaBIT. :)
They made those BIOS files with the official AMD editor. Who knows how they got that. Another 0.06v on the core might help you a tiny bit, but a pencil mod would do even better. Of course, you're getting into scary territory if you push it out of spec. I fried a Radeon 9700 doing that years ago and don't go there anymore because of that.Quote:

Karwa, it'd be best if you flashed ASUS card with Sapphire's bios, it's in newer version (071) and lets you clock above 862MHz. They both use the same PCB and memory (I checked) and Sapphire bios works on ASUS (I checked, too)Quote:

I have measured power consumption before and after flashing, and disabling 2D clocks does nothing. Power consumption is still ~230-240W when cards are idle (cpu loaded).
